A fast aggro combo deck for wild that can win you the game on turn 5 and take you to rank 3 (season 36, march 2016). It relies on cheap minions to swarm the board, miracle rogue style draw combo's, 1 for 3 trades and Lightwarden and Holy Champion as your finishers!

New: Updated Un'Goro version that brought me to rank 1 (Season 37)!

Can aggro priest now finally be recognized as an existing arch-type without being listed as Unknowm? I'm looking at you HearthPwn! When i reach the top 0.5% of a player base with this deck then there's no way of denying it any more.. :(

INSTRUCTIONS

Play on curve from turn one without wasting any mana. Outnumber your opponent and go for board control.  While you heal your minions to get some extra trades you'll also activate your key cards like Lightwarden, Holy Champion, Shadowboxer and Northshire Cleric. They will give you your much needed tempo and tempo is what you need to win! Watch the videos for a quick impression.

MATCH-UPS

last updated: March, 2017

Priest

Control priest: Control priest run many removals. So most of the time the game depend on the question if you can rush them down before they draw the right removal. Another crucial moment are the first 3 turns where whenever your opponent plays Northshire Cleric the game can turn in a very hard game of chess where you want to carefully think your turns through.

Aggro/Midrange priest: It's very rare to meet one, but most of them rely on an early Deathlord or a buffed 1 or 2 drop with Velen's Chosen. If you can use your removal you can take control of the board. Your opponents only hope then is a big board clear. If he doesn't have it you'll most likely win.

Warrior

Control warrior: With them you can expect an on curve Fiery War Axe which is just too overpowered. Only way to overcome it is by buffing your 1 drop with Power Word: Shield or by playing 2 minons at once and hope your opponent doesn't have all the removals options in his hand.

Pirate/aggro: Those are pretty hard. In this match-up it also depends if they have Fiery War Axe in their starting hand. In that case you can only hope to draw 2x Injured Kvaldir + Circle of Healing combo/2x Zombie Chow/Zombie Chow + Power Word: Shield to outpace them. If they don't have the weapon you won't be needing that much tempo, still it won't be easy. You'll need to kill everything AND draw enough in order to win because in this match-up you'll run out of cards fast!

Paladin

Secret Paladin: To win you first must win the board till they play Mysterious Challenger on turn 6. After you've played into Noble Sacrifice and there Avenge has buffed Mysterious Challenger you kill it with Shadow Word: Death. After this it won't take to long before you win the game.

Warlock

Zoolock: It's just a matter of who can set the pace of the game. You just have to outplay your opponent and hope you get cards like Circle of Healing and draw enough cards with Northshire Cleric.

Renolock: Very hard match-up. Only way to win is by rushing him down before turn 8 when he will use Twisting Nether and heal up the turn after.

Mage

The tricky part of mages is finding out which deck they are playing. You have to guess it the moment when you mulligan, because if you mulligan to play against Freeze mage while your opponent is playing tempo mage you most likely just lose. When your opponent is playing Freeze mage then it's not such a big deal because with freeze mage you actually still have some time to draw the right cards before the outcome gets decided.

Tempo mage: You have to play from turn 1 if possible. Mulligan for 1 and 2 drops, Deathlord if you have coin, or Northshire Cleric if you also get a Power Word: Shield. If you can establish an early board you win the game.

Freeze mage: You want to mulligan for Shadow word: Pain or cards that can make you draw a lot like Northshire Cleric in combination with Injured Kvaldir or Injured Blademaster. Shadow Word: Pain is your win condition in this match-up to counter Doomsayer. Most of the time you can expect him on turn 5 in combination with Holy Nova, or even earlier when you board is threatening enough. So the first 5 turns when you don't have Shadow Word: Pain don't play everything you have. If your board gets cleared by an early Doomsayer it's really hard to maintain a threatening board and win the game,

Shaman

Mid-range/Mid-jade Shaman: You want to mulligan for opportunities to get minions with 4 health or higher, or otherwise a Shadow Word: Pain to hold of early aggression like Totem Golem. The best way to win is an Injured Blademaster coined on turn 2 with a Circle of Healing. He almost always makes sure you can make it to the mid/late game. For the rest of the match it's good advice to keep your minions with 3 health or more intact as those won't be cleared by shamans board clears. If you also manage to draw enough card you'll be doing excellent.

Druid

Egg druid: This match up is like 50/50. You both have a similar play style, namely dominating the board with a lot of cheap minions. The way to win is by thinking really hard how you're going to trade and how to get as much value as possible out of every card. Play around Swipe and decide carefully if it's worth to be greedy with cards like Circle of Healing and Light of the Naaru. A key card to victory is Shadowbomber as he can clear all those early pesky 1/1 minions.

Jade druid: In this match-up you just win by nature as you're just playing a too fast deck for them to be any threat. Though watch out, they do have the potential to summon jades AND remove your minions in the same turn. In that case it becomes pretty hard. In order to establish a game winning early board you'll have to buff 3-health minions with Power Word: Shield or play and heal Injured Blademaster.

MULLIGAN

last updated: November, 2016

You want to play minions that don't die their first turn especially against aggro/face/zoo.

  • So Zombie Chow is excellent. Except if you play against Zoolock and his first drop is Flame Imp, in which case you want to buff your Zombie Chow with Power Word: Shield.
  • Injured Kvaldir is also a good drop as you can just heal it to make trades.
  • The most awkward 1 drop against aggro/face/zoo is Lightwarden as it doesn't trade with other minions without first attacking their face to heal it again to make Lightwarden a 3/2. If you're playing against Secret Paladin don't play her as she well just die against Shielded Minibot. Against control it is not that terrible. Against Priest it's actually quite good.
  • Northshire Cleric is only good when you can coin her and buff her with Power Word: Shield. Otherwise don't play her on turn one as she's far to important to risk her immediately dying without getting any value out of her.
  • Lastly Voodoo Doctor. Don't play this on turn one. Only coin him to heal your Injured Kvaldir. In general he's just a combo card and canon fodder.

REPLACEMENTS

Swappable cards
The following cards are no key cards and are meant for experimenting and swapping in order to adapt to meta changes.

Other good cards

  • Binding Heal (New Un'Goro set) - Haven't tried this one yet of course but i think this card can really help against the Pirate Warrior match-up or any other face-aggressive deck. Many times i find myself in a spot that i can't heal my minions because healing my hero is more important. Doing both and triggering my Northshire Cleric, Shadowboxer and Lightwarden can make a huge difference.
  • Lightbomb as a replacement to Shadow Word: Death in a mid-range/aggro heavy meta. Against those decks you sometimes need just a little bit more removal. Moreover Lightbomb mostly doesn't kill off your own minions and has the potential to enable huge combo's with Healing circle. Lightbomb and Shadow Word: Death score evenly in my opinion.
  • Deathlord - A second Deathlord can be really strong. I personally just didn't want to swap him for any other cards in my deck..
  • Crazed Alchemist for when the meta becomes to slow and many people start to run Doomsayer. Crazed Alchemist can also turn your 7/2 Lightwarden into a defensive late game 2/7 body which also serve ideally in those same control matches.
  • Wild Pyromancer for when you're feeling lucky and want some extra combo enablers for your Lightwardens and Holy Champions (hint: Circle of Healing). Though i don't recommend him because the stars really have to align for it but being able to pull of double lethal out of nothing seams really nice doesn't it?
  • Velen's Chosen - Really good tempo card but mostly a win-more card. Though if you also useWild Pyromancer you may want to include this in your deck because of the lack of spells.
  • Kabal Talonpriest - Really good tempo card but mostly a win-more card
  • Mana Geode - If there's any Priest deck out there where he perfectly fits in it's this one. Too bad he's still a little too slow. Meant for experimentation.

GENERAL TIPS

  • Healing an Injured Blademaster with a Light of the Naaru makes for a good tempo play.
  • Don't underestimate Zombie Chow! Trading him triggers almost all your minions. Want to trade Zombie Chow for a 3/3? Put a Shadowboxer on the field and he will deal the last hit.
  • Don't be afraid to use a Light of the Naaru on your opponents face if you need a minion or just a target to heal. Same as for healing your enemy minions with Circle of Healing. Many times the pros outweigh the cons and sometimes it is even the only way to victory!
  • A Lightwarden can be a very unexpected threat. Use that to your advantage. If you have 2 of them and manage to heal 7 targets at most in one turn you've won that game!
  • Northshire Cleric is a very important card in the early game. If you are second it's almost never a bad idea to play Northshire Cleric with a Power Word: Shield. Most of the times if your opponent isn't playing a deck that relies on board presence he will just stop playing anything which gives you a chance to create your board and guarantee your win.
  • An on curve Deathlord can be used as a good healing target as it doesn't directly die in one turn. Even if it get's damaged to low health your opponents doesn't expect you to be able to heal it back to full health.
