I have been away from the game for a couple of months now, but some of you may remember my pogo rogue thread where we were trying to make the most streamlined version of the deck. (the thread covered all rogue decks really, but it's main focuss was on boomsday archetypes)
we came to the conclusion it was like 50% winrate deck when it was built and piloted correctly, but it did fall victim to dead hand (which tbh I think is a rogue problem in general. most rogue decks rely too heavily on too few cards to function properly, this is why we see the same odd and tempo rogue decks that we had like 6+ months ago)
one of the reasons I am re-opening the topic is the inclusion of the shark spirit card. I am going to re-make the deck, but with the sole purpose of just trying to make huge bunnies and see how stupid they can get. This first version will not be streamlined for ladder play, but more just for fun and to see just how fat we can make these bunnies.
If anyone would like to join in, feel free to post any decks lists, anecdotes and replays here. I will read and reply to everything (within reason)
As I mentioned above, I feel that there might be problems with rogue in general that mean that there are few decks that can be built that don't rely too heavily on specific cards to get going properly. We do have Odd Rogue and Tempo rogue that do well in their basic forms, but when we try and do new things with these archetypes, it tends to hinder the decks overall performance more than anything (shark spirit tempo rogue, I'm looking at you)
Miracle rogue is another. it is still a beautiful deck to play, and probably the hardest thing to play right in the game because of all the options it has. but It seems to be a deck that people only play once they hit their desired rank though now. I have yet to see one on ladder since I returned (granted I'm still at the bottom right now) I guess it's just not a good laddering deck.
While we are here, I'd love to see any type of rogue deck with a little bit of innovation in there, I'd love to hear how it's doing as well.
I'm sure some of you will have been able to make something I've not really seen yet that works, or is rogue just in a bit of a bad place right now as far as win rates go?
I think we have some really cool tools there, but we're not going to see them fully realized before the rotation. we can only hope that the newer tools get further support and can live up to kingsbane and strider in the rogues gallery hall of fame.

so anyway dudes, hit me with that data stick.
Rogue is my favorite class to make weird decks with. Pogo hunter and shuffle decks are some of my favorites. The shuffle rogue in particular was a blast, either with a few dozen Ambush spiders in your deck or dropping 9-10 bombs into your opinnents’ Deck.
The trouble is the current meta. Hunter is a bad matchup for most quirky rogue decks.

I never played with the bomber, I may have to craft 1 and try it out.
Yeah I made a few shuffle decks. I had a great one I named "tesspionage" which is probably self explanatory.
did you use augmented elekk as well? I was all over that card to start with, but ended up cutting it from a lot of decks due to being slow. I kept it in Tesspionge though as it was awesome to see all those cards get added, and could make for some proper crazy games. I still haven't got to use tess properly yet, but luckily she doesn't rotate for another year, so there's still time.
did you get the unstable element? I didn't manage to open either of the rogue legendaries from boomsday yet so not been able to try it out.
I did make one of those death rattle decks with the new tools as well. this is another deck slays when it draws well, but if you don't get the cards you need you are gonna die.
Currently have 17/18 decks. 11 of these are Rogue decks. Where to start...
About pogo: right there with you trying to make it work. My Deck Tracker has a record of 20+ iterations of this deck, with the best win rate being 49% currently - stopped trying after a few tentatives with Spirit of the Shark. It just can't be made viable in ladder, which is probably for the best as it could have the potential to be the next Jade Druid and make Rogue the target of god's wrath. Although, there's a streamer who's played some high legend games with a Pogo deck, climbing with it doesn't seem at all feasible.
As for the moment I've been playing Pirate Rogue with some success. Was tempted to craft Genn and give the even version a try, but it doesn't seem to be a big improvement.
Other decks include iterations of Malygos, Miracle, Tempo, OTK, Deathrattle, Espionage... really digging for the next big thing.
Tried to make a Bomb Rogue just for fun, not doing well ahah.

I use Elekks for my shuffle decks that rely on spiders and bombs for the finishers. I don't use it for Espionage or Pogo decks. Espionage decks I find that too many cards being shuffled in results in getting to a top deck position very quickly. Pogo decks I just felt like it didn't make the cut. I rarely got too deep into the deck that required more than a lab recruit or two.
I have the Unstable Element but it didn't go so well for me. I never tried it in Espionage decks which I feel would probably be a good fit. I honestly only picked up that card a few weeks ago and I've been a little fatigued on losing with rogue outside of meta decks.
Dumb note about the bomb shuffle rogue, I actually had a really great win rate in boomsday with this deck until they nerfed Giggling Inventor. The inventor and Sonya Shadowdancer could stall certain decks for a long time while I loaded up the bombs.
It’s hand size rogue! You might be confused... but it is actually quite a blast to play: strong and fun, not too much polarizing matchups, not to much dependant of draws. The core cards are mountain giant, twilight drake, lab recruiter (shuffling more giants is super strong) and the various cards that add more cards to your hand of coarse. Feel free to take the idea and make your own deck, or play mine.
hope this was a kind of deck you where looking for or at least gave you some inspiration :-)))
I made a cuple of decks and two remain at the moment. Both seem quite good. the shuffle one is hard to play. The even one is tempo based with powerful tricks. I got a bit lost testing other crazy decks due to feeling the RNG god Murphy had fun seeing me loosing with good decks ...
Elise would be a crazy powerful card here. Basically instead of the bomber. But if you know you play against an OTK deck like the current paladins you can prepare a deadly strike when they did draw the library ... I think this one has great meta potential. I had about 50/50 but i did´t play it enough.
Cool tempo deck. Even rouge looks like a bad choice but this one actually rocks. The deck looks 4 mana overloaded but seems to work. If dropping a pirate T2 it usually has the edge.

This seems like a cool one to try, shame I don't have the giants, would definitely give it a spin. +1
This thread made me want to play pogos again. This is the current list I'm running:
Fun as always, not able to win consistently as ever. Spirit of the Shark's synergies with Novice Engineer and Fal'dorei Strider can carry the mid-game, if it ever gets there. I've tried both Myra and Sprint, with Myra being too situational and Sprint being just more useful most of the times. The early game's pretty much non-existant.
I'd like to give pogos a try with an Even setup and Pirates for a stronger early game. Something like this:
Mojomaster Zihi will probably be my next craft as I'm pretty sure it'll be a great improvement to all these tempo and control-ish decks, and Rogue can do many interesting things with cards in hand and 6 mana.

yeah dude, mojomaster is great if you don't need to do combo's. in a deck like tempo where you only really have the vilespines and agents it's usually fine though. it's not difficult to not mess things up for you.
so have you played much of that tempo deck? I'm only missing 4 greens for it.
regarding your pogo deck. sonya might be better now that we don't use gigling inventor. I can't say for certain because I've not played it since august. you want to make the deck as fast as possible. unless you are using unstable (which you should be if you have it) you shouldn;t be using striders. in fact you might not even want them at all in pogo rogue because it needs to be really fast and the whole deck is based around making copies of pogos and pushing fast damage.
you use the miracle bits to keep the board clear of anything that can stop us smashing them in the face with bunnies.
I think sonya is better as you can copy a shark, however if you had a good way of buffing sharks and running them in, you could get copies with sonya, there just isn't really any point though as you wanting multiple sharks on board at once to maximise the buff.

That's actually just a theorycraft as I don't own Genn nor Mojomaster. The intention is to provide some early game support to the pogos, but keep in mind, if you haven't tried even rogue nor seen any videos of it, IMO it's not a great option. It comes nowhere close to other even decks like warlock or pala, so I'm reaching quite far here.
As for the pogos, nothing really compares to the stalling power of 5 mana Giggling Inventor. I'm still tweaking that list, but I agree on Fal'dorei not doing much for the deck. I'm gonna switch them for Saronites and see where it goes. Gonna try some deathrattle shenanigans next to actually climb the ladder a bit.

I wouldn't get your hopes up about an even rogue being good. I'm sure it would have been discovered by now.
Honestly like Pogo Rogue is one of those decks you play when you are not trying to rank. I can build what I think is the optimal version of it if you want, but it'll look mostly like the one on front page, save for it will have vanish in there (and maybe a few others bits as if he runs fal'dorei, I don't. I think it slows down the gameplan and can be a dead 4 mana 4/4, in a tempo game that's terrible)
I used to use giggling with sonya and I'd either force them to give me the annoy-o-trons back, or I'd trade them in myself and get them back and play them again, also running the inventor in too to get that back. (the annoy o trons were cheaper I think though to spam, I can't remember)
I'm sure giggling has been nerfed in some way though as you never see it being used now. the reason I think zola is better now is because we aren't using giggling inventor. it's better to copy a shark now. you want to try and have a shark to use as a finisher so you double the buff at the end to push lethal over two turns... on paper at least as I've not played it for months.
I am tempted to build a new list now though and take it for a spin.

Giggling got nerfed from 5 mana to 7 if you haven't noticed.
You should check out Dog's videos, he runs a Pogo list with Betrayal and Tuskarr Fisherman. Zola also seems to be a big improvement for this deck.

yeah I thought it seemed high. it got nerfed while I was playing faeria I think.
If you like rogue decks, check out "J. Alexander HS" Vods on Twitch. He played a lot of different rogue decks today so it's a good one to watch.
EDIT: I think he may have taken the fishermen out, unless he added them later as I got the code from his video and they aren't in it. he has like an earthen farseer and a gnome drawer for use with the shark I think. I copied his anyway and looking at it now in HS.
Looks good to me. The deck code on youtube is wrong, but yours seems pretty close to what he was playing. I'm guessing he's running Betrayal just to counter those hunter spellstones. Give it a spin and leave some feedback for fellow pogo enthusiasts.
I'm gonna check that streamer, just skipped through one of his videos and it looks promising.

I don't think he has betrayal in his final version. he may have just not drawn it though. he has no hard draw at all now (no sprint and he doesn't use myra's) he had 2 tuskar, 1 shiv he had something else I don't as well, but I can't remember off the top of my head
I changed a few cards round to suit how I plan to play it and came out with my first draft. I only really took the use of tuskars and zihi from him though, the rest is my old design pretty much anyway. I don't think faldorei is a good choice at all for pogo, seems he thought the same in the end. it's really just gonna slow you down.
I learned an infinite from him as well where you use the DK, sonya and pogo. I'd not even thought of it previously as hadn't run zola in my original pogo, it has sonya instead for the giggling inventors mainly. we already discussed that though.
reckon we're close to as good as you will get for a pogo deck. (also I don't think zihi is needed at all and could be cut for a 2nd vanish)
EDIT: I tookj out zihi for the 2nd vanish on the hearthpwn version so people don;t think they need zihi and craft him if they were to want to try the deck... I reckon the card will be pretty situational and more of tech against control decks, I will add her if I need her. 2 x vanish however is great for us.
if you wanna build the best pogo rogue, build this one. you don't need unstable element neither, you can use sprint no probs or put some other draw minions like pipers in there. they should draw your bunnies right out the deck.
basically dude. if you wanna build one, but you need loads of cards, this is the cheapest way to do it and most efficient at the same time. just remove the legendaries from it.
yeah that looks decent. I only need a couple of cards for it. I want to get that new pirate anyway as well so will try this out when I get her.
btw dude, if you know a bit about weapon rogues. you reckon it;s worth crafting 2 x spectral cutlass? I want to get back on my tesspionage rogue asap really, and it seems running it with a pirates package using various bits and that new draw card etc is pretty decent. it's like a burgle pirate deck really with tess as a finisher. probably will put unstable element in as well a it's great.
maybe a copy of cauldron as well to try and get the buff card (I forget it's name, gives everything 4 attack for 1 turn though) I think you may be able to get tess to replay that like a poor mans shuderwok, ha ha) it will be a nice finisher though if it all works out.
Gurubashi chicken rogue is working nice to me, Im only on a 4 loss streak, super fun! (9-26 atm with the deck)
ah cool, I will have to see how that works. I have not seen a gurabashi chicken deck yet.
EDIT: I re-read that.. LoL.
OK so it sucks then? is it at least fun?
I know a lot of people still try and say pogo decks suck when they just don't know what they;re doing.. not implying that you don't though, ha ha.
Sure I seen a thumbnail for a toast video a few weeks back before I jumped back in that said "draw gurabashi and win" so I assumed it was a meme card that was OP when utilized correctly.

EDIT: (when I was saying you could build a cheap(er) version without the legendaries, I forgot to mention that to be optimal you still would want the DK, zola and zilliax. these cards are 100% needed for an optimal version. it is possible to play without, but it would be like ice skating up hill in a shit-storm)
I think betrayal would be good. against hunter spellstone for sure. I think I would like to include one, but not sure what to cut.
do you know why people are running 1 x shiv as well at the minute, is there a specific reason for it? I could tailor the deck to fit in 1 x and 1 x betrayal, just not sure if it's worth upsetting the balance though. betrayal for spellstone does sound really good mate, but it's putting in a card that is only there to deal with 1 deck and that's usually a bad idea.
it's why I don't run chief in any of y decks now. I'm trying to learn to play around the secrets first. If it becomes a point where I'm loosing way too much to secrets then I will include one, but I'd prefer to find an organic path first. tech cards are usually not great outside of a tournament environment as they mess with the overall balance of the deck.
also tech choices are typically not something I include in the hearthpwn version, but as part of the guide when I write it. I like to have a base version of something, but with interchangeable parts.
If you see any of my higher rated decks that actually have guides. I always write in possible changes and these are usually for tech choices.
LoL, I even used to link to entire new versions of decks with different packages in. I know in kobolds I had a cube guide which broke into like 3 or 4 decks, the same for my control warlock. ha ha.
I stopped putting tons of effort into every deck because they don't all get noticed. I wait and see if people like something first, and if they do I then go back and write a guide.
Yeah I understood what you meant. From that list, the only thing I don't have is Zola and I'm not gonna craft it just to improve this deck.
I do have hope in april, pogo Rogue might have it's time to shine, after rotation of DKs and such. I actually cut Valeera the Hollow from my current list, as most of my matches weren't getting to a stage where Valeera would make a difference.
As for Shiv, I'm guessing it's for the easy card rotation + removal with a couple +1 spell damage? It's one of those cards that's always gonna be the first pick to switch with something else you might wanna try. If all goes bad in turn 2, ping face and draw 1 isn't that bad.
I agree with that take on tech cards, the only I usually run is weapon removal. Rogue decks don't have much space to waste. Although, regarding Mojomaster, I do feel it could be more than a pure tech card, as it should help vs both control and combo decks and reinforce a tempo approach by bringing your opponent down to turn 5 where a Tempo deck's at ease. But I'm just theorizing as I don't have the card, so bear with me.
Yeah dude, I checked a couple of your decks and you had detailed descriptions for those. Kudos for the effort.
You might want to check the "Make-your-own-Malygos" lists as well for some added insanity. You'll feel good just by being able to pull it off every 20 games.
You might be interested in a rogue deck i made:
https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1192353-wild-hand-size-rogue-by-ilja615
Zola also seems to be a big improvement for this deck.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwI9hXanJ6g
thanks dude, I will check that out.
yeah I thought it seemed high. it got nerfed while I was playing faeria I think.
I had a look at that dog vid, good stuff.
I made my own and included the tuskars. seems pretty decent IMO.
This is my version anyway.
If you are interested in Wild, this thing plays much better than its Standard counterpart:
Gurubashi chicken rogue is working nice to me, Im only on a 4 loss streak, super fun! (9-26 atm with the deck)
Skidaddle skidoodle your Milhouse manastorm is now a noodle
I want to get back on my tesspionage rogue asap really, and it seems running it with a pirates package using various bits and that new draw card etc is pretty decent. it's like a burgle pirate deck really with tess as a finisher. probably will put unstable element in as well a it's great.
maybe a copy of cauldron as well to try and get the buff card (I forget it's name, gives everything 4 attack for 1 turn though) I think you may be able to get tess to replay that like a poor mans shuderwok, ha ha) it will be a nice finisher though if it all works out.
ah cool, I will have to see how that works.
