In my opinion this card will bring priest back to a very competitive state. Talanji can effectively fill your board with huge threats from cards like Crystalline Oracle or Bone Drake. For example i was able to pull out 36 mana worth of minions resulting in a board of Talanji, Ysera, Nozdormu, and tundra rhino with lifesteal (zombeast), this was also before i even needed to play Amara. A lot of the time when quest or thief priest were able to get decent minions into their hand they couldn't play them in time for it to matter especially when opponent is just smorc'ing. I've also been experimenting with the soulflayer in this deck but be careful with this card.
Sigh. The last thing we need to see is more priests on the ladder. I'm still trying to recover from the Raza metas, and I don't want this class anywhere near "competitive state" please.
I pulled her from a pack and I am really looking forward to trying out my thief priest deck again. Might go full meme and rock Dragon Soul too
I'm thinking about creating that type of deck too. I've mostly been playing quest priest the only decks i've lost to are maly druid, shudderwock and a few face hunters which were all insanely lucky but right now talanji is basically a lesser tess greymane because you have to let the cards sit in your hand instead of being able to play a ton of 1-costs and then replay them with tess. however priest has way better survivability than rogue so i'm hoping the deck can really take off.

Speak for yourself. I love Priest and i want it to be strong again, nobody here bears the authority to decide what 'we' need. I suppose you want your favorite class/classes to be strong right? So it's legit for other ppl to wish for Priest to be strong.
I never understood why Priest attracts so much hate and negativity. Is it for the steal mechanic? Maybe it's the unpredictability of the class? Those things and more make Priest one of the best and most interesting classes to play for some of us.

Razakus was a pretty dark time, admittedly. Just too powerful for its representation level and had very few counters.
Not sure what people are referring to outside of that, though. Dragon Priest has always been a pretty fair feeling deck to me when it's been in the meta. DS/Inner Fire can be tilting to lose to, but it hasn't been god tier in a long time (if ever). Big Priest was frustrating and high-rolly, but not consistent enough to hit those insane win rates, either.

Priest is also one of my favorite classes to play but it is because there is no middle ground (since the early iterations of dragon priest). They are either way to strong and oppressive with little to no counter play minus playing the correct deck into them or they are D tier meme decks. They have also been pushed into playing a minimal variety of decks. There was an agro priest deck that surfaced for a couple weeks but besides that its always the same thing. Dont draw the nuts early game and play from behind praying for a swing turn card mid to late. No other class feels so hit or miss.

Jfc, what is with this line of thinking why is it that it only applies to priests? We've had pirate warrior, patron warrior, old gods midrange shaman, jade druid, cubelock, secret paladin, undertaker hunter, quest rogue. So why is it that none of those classes are blacklisted by the community?
Priest has been in such a horrible state the last 3 expansions, I had to start using rogue (espionage) in standard, having been a strict priest main since launch, but I still see all these posts hating on the entire class for one deck that rotated 7 months ago.
Useless vs spell hunter which are 50% of the ladder now lol
well i can tell you that I've played against a lot of spell hunters and i only lost to one so far this expansion with quest priest because you finish the quest, play benedictus or steal from crystalline oracles and you might get lucky getting either rexxar or zul'jin, There's even a few games where I've gotten two Zul'jin's and one rexxar. Anyways Talanji comes into play once you have some good dragons from bone drake deathrattles or you've been able to play rexxar and your hand is loaded up with zombeasts.
This kind of cards allows us to express ourselves. No counters, no plans, unpredictable games. Im having so much fun with my build, that i cant stop playing this deck.
I lost every game I played with the forementioned deck. Not even close.
0/4 with that deck. No answer for Giants. No answer for aggro. No answer for pirates. Too slow. No answer for mage spells. Nothing except 1 single psychic scream... So you sit there and get your ass pounded until they win.
That deck got me 1 win against an older rogue class that just got upset that I was able to somehow get rid of his two main characters. When I went to play something he conceded. This deck below is just a theory craft but I faced a quest pally, spell hunter and pirate rogue and kicked their asses. You can try it and see if that works better. I incorporated some of the cards from the deck listed here. However, this is a much faster deck and has some defense in it. In the 3 games I played, and won, I never needed to play archbishop or Amara. I won with shadow reaper.
Does this have a shot at beating kingsbane or is it just a slow, unfun, inevitable death like with most control decks?
From what I can tell, this deck is just a slow, unfun, inevitable death. You can take the deck I proposed and try it but incorporate two of something that can kill the weapon. That is really the only want to beat kingsbane. Get rid of the damned weapon and then play archbishop to get the weapon.
Thief priest in general has a problem with Kingsbane because any cards you steal are useless without the weapon.

Cool. I think I opened one; may give it a go when I get home.

There is also an OTK with this legend too. Zetalot was playing some of it today. It involves Seance and Velen and Mind Blast.
Thats why i love Hs

In two of my 3 games vs control paladins I've been able to create infinite Lynessa's because of seance and a few stolen buff cards. So much fun
