Standard and Wild each has their own ups and downs. Personally, I prefer wild for a few reasons.
1, the diversity in wild is WAY better. Unfortunately Witchwood has made it so only Paladin and warlock (occasional shaman) is what I only see on ladder from 5 to . I have rarely seen the Naga Sea Witch combo since the change occurred about 6 months ago which most people were complaining about these days.
2, the decks I create for wild will always be there. This makes it cheaper for me as I am almost completely free to play (only bought naxx adventure but I do not use any of the cards at the moment).
3, as there are more cards, there are more answers (for both yourself and your opponent). Good plays feel more rewarding and bad ones feel more punishing. Wild feels more skill based, but like standard there is a big element to luck.
However, there are also those that prefer arena to standard or wild. The "best" game mode for one person will be different to the next. Wild will not be useful to a new player. There are separate game modes for a reason, for if you do not like one then there are always others. Some people like standard because the meta is constantly changing (however, the last rotation barely affected the meta, so while some of the dominant decks aren't overpowered, many are complaining as a lot of them are bored with the standard meta). Also, wild seems to be completely misunderstood by a lot of players. Many will say one thing or another about wild (aka, the Naga Sea Witch stereotype), which is completely not true.
Play the game mode that you prefer. It will give you the most enjoyment out of the game
I'll say Wild, more options = better for me, simple.
However, I play both. There are decks which obviously are only available in Wild, and there are some decks such as Control Warlock which I enjoy playing, that performs well in Standard but not so well in Wild.
Nobody can tell you one is definitively better than the other, you have to play both and decide for yourself.
Wild is better because in standar you only play vs two decks
Paladin and cubeblock, and them are really cancer
It´s true, there are decks like the old OTK but the probability is low
the only thing I would change of wild is about the decks, I would put a minimun of cards (like 10) to considere the deck really Wild and you could play there
wild rank 15 is the fun zone right now, lots of ludicrously greedy decks and wacky stuff. higher up is just giants or dude spam. i spent the last few months mostly playing standard (hoping that rotation would make things interesting), but will probably primarily switch back to wild after the nerfs hit.
Wild is shit. People who like it are either rank 20-15, where everyone is memeing or masochists who like losing turn 4 to Big Priest, Nagas and mill decks that hard counter fun
I'd taking fighting infinite cubelocks over this any day
If you like facing tons of autistic mill and combo decks, "meme" decks (a.k.a. greedy af decks) and more broken cards, go play Wild. I wouldn't recommend you to take seriously every opinion here, because Wild players are always screaming that their mode is the fucking paradise, and will refute anything said against that.
Anyways, you should try for yourself. Go play some games there, ignoring the people that will add you to insult you for not having too much Wild cards in your deck.
^^^I'll spare a facepalm for the above two posters who speak the gospel, for they know one mode is clearly better than the other. Wait...who are they?
I'll say again for anyone pondering the OP's question: play both, decide for yourself which you enjoy more. Pay no attention to these drones incapable of common thought.
I prefer wild right now, standard is so boring since the last expansion that I need to move this season and I don't regret it, this month of playing hearthstone was fun, there's a lot of different decks in wild. After the rank 5, there are problems tho and I'm glad the naga sea witch is finally nerfed. Haven't seen this deck before rank 5 but at rank 2-3 you'll face a lot of them.
Been playing for 3 years and after every rotation, every patch, every nerf I expected the same. No change at all. No matter how many decks or cards are nerfed, no matter how many standard years rotate, the meta ALWAYS sucks.
You may question then why am I here? well, I'm currently lurking in HearthPwn to know how's everything since TW came out, I'm not playing the game anymore. Moreoever, I uninstalled the game. Haven't played since then. No regrets at all. More time for me and other games to enjoy. No more netdeckers, no more RNG against me, no more headache :)

Perhaps you better stick to playing Super Mario, because every online game will always have the same awkward people picking perfect cookie-cutter builds created by another player.
Yes, it is a problem, but just as much of a problem are the tinfoil-hat defeatists who believe everyone is out to get them. You have to adapt, move forward and create your own ways of enjoying the game...and despite Hearthstone's faults, there are many, if you have the imagination.
If you like a larger card pool and a chance to play old and new decks wild for everything else standard/tavern brawl and arena! ^^

Wild is going to be amazing after the Naga Sea Witch nerf. Standard is an absolute scam, spend either time or money to earn cards that you can't use after 1.3 to 2 years? No way.
Wild is generally better (and less stale) compared to standard, but both have a similar potential for frustration. Busted in wild is really really busted. If your favourite deck rotates don't be afraid to rotate with it. Craft a few wild staples and off you go.
Anyone who plays top decks in either causal mode should be drawn, quartered, reincarnated and then run halfway through a wood chipper.
Wild is way better. But imagine the toxic decks in standard. Wild version are 1000x more toxic. I still suggest you to play wild over standard but don't keep your expactations too high.
Not because it's more casual, not because there aren't cancerous decks, because yes, they exist there. But because THERE IS A MUCH BIGGER VARIETY OF VIABLE DECKS. While in Standard there are around 2-3 strong decks, in wild there are much much more of them. Also you have the tools to deal with some decks. While Cubelock is a problem, it's not as bad as it is in standard.
The biggest issue right now in wild is naga-giant. Not because there are many of them, the big issue is simply that midrange does not exist as long as this stupid combo exist. So right now there is only aggro or control.
With this bullshit-combo out of the way, the wild-meta might be drastically changed; and that's actually quite good. Aggro will be less relevant, and midrange might find it's way back.

No. It is turn 4 Barnes for priest. The bane of the format. Naga is even dead in 2 days.

^^^^ Thank you, someone who actually understands wild. While naga is "considered" the busted deck of the century, it was only really popular when the change first occurred, nor as bad as big priest like you said.
As for midrange decks, they have been struggling for a while now, and not just in wild. Don't go making claims that midrange decks do not exist simply because of Naga
I usually don't play Wild but when I've delved into it, it's nothing but cancer Reno and Naga decks. So I don't care for it myself I stick to standard.

Standard because it’s a more true ladder as everything is based off the best players in the region. And that trickles all the way down.

Right now standard is better IMO as wild has very little deck diversity but after the nerfs wild may become a much better mode.
