Voted for Vicious Demoncaller, Mana Hungry Elemental, and Toxic Storm. These are the best cards submitted in this week's competition.
I really don't understand how Void Blast got into the finals— you would never include this card in your deck over Raza the Chained + Shadowform... it's just a dead card if you don't draw Shadowform anyway.
Still don't understand how people are voting for that card... I'm not sure I ever will. Everyone is too hyped up about Shadow Priest to even consider that this is just a useless card?
Coward Warturtle - Not only is the art and flavor awesome, it also fits the Priest playstyle perfectly. You can heal this indefinitely to return to full attack value. At last a priest 2-drop that can be played on curve! I suppose the effect would override buffs such as Inner Fire though ? EDIT: this effect is unworthy of an epic gem though.
Tenacious Heal - I missed it on the submissiton thread but it's awesome. Absolute synergy with Radiant Elemental and of course [card]Auchenai Soulpriest[/card}!
Cowardly Knight - "Fucking bubble cocksuckers!" - George 'Corpsegrinder' Fisher. This is not only a perfect translation of "bubble hearth" into HS, it's also a fully playable and in fact useful card!
Honorable Mentions:
Vicious Demoncaller - This is the kind of card discardlock needs to be viable. Cards that adds "discard meat" to your hand so you don't discard Lord Jaraxxus, Twisting Nether or other important cards. I didn't vote for it because it's a bit too bland, but it's still very good gameplay-wise.
I voted for most of them on the submission thread but since it's the finals I had to sharpen my standards.
Wait what? I thought my chances of reaching the finals were doomed with Tenacious Heal and Back-Alley Bandit on the same page. Nice!
Cheese: Thanks man, glad you like it! I thought the flavor was pretty spot on myself, but I doubt it'll do good in this final! Tox: The end of an era. We'll probably see you next week. Demonxz95: I think most of us forget the wildcard!
Can't believe I killed an entire page of submissions, I feel ashamed of myself DX
Going to vote for the next cards and myself:
Tar Hatchling: I fricking love this card art and general concept, and its actually very good on Druid! Since he is lacking right now of good early game cards, without including Wild.
Back-Alley Bandit: I like the concept, though I would probably make this minion a 1/2 just for make him survive AoE's. However seems an interesting concept to work it!
Manafly Nest: Good flavour and balanced! Though its a bit OP, but fine at it is.
Cards that almost gained my vote:
Toxic Storm: Eh... I don't know what to really say... I like the flavour... but since Shaman has a lot of Spell Damage I'm not quite sure where to find a place of this one...
Mana Hungry Elemental: Good, balanced, though a bit too much RNG for both players, but quite like it as the top honourable mention.
Void Blast: Its just... too simple... to plain for me. I like the Shadowform synergy but, yeah too simple. Not even cool though, could have prefered a bit of twisted concept on a minion.
And wow! Second time getting into the finals! I feel I'm just beign "Tinkered" over time!
Coward Warturtle (4/5): Pretty good card, balance seems good, art is good. Solid priest 2-drop that we dont have many of. I would probably prefer, if it didnt have the beast tag (would have to be a different character ofc), but other than that, pretty good.
Vicious Democaller (3/5): Since i absolutely HATE discard WL archetype and dont like blizz is pushing it more and more this card isnt for me. But the balance seems fair, it would definitely be a good addition to such deck. Although the later u draw it, the worse it gets id say.
Tar Hatchling (5/5): Oh well ... a bit cheap design, but the execution is rly good. Awesome cute art and it definitely feels like this should be a druid card.
Back-Alley Bandit (4/5): I said it in the discussion topic, this is probably the only card that i liked this week, that was designed to give rogue 0 cost spells to start the combos. There were plenty of others and most of them were downright broken or not executed very well, im glad this one made it.
Mana Hungry Elemental (100/5): What is this? WOW! That is the best card iv ever seen! HOLY CRAP! Some kind of genius must have made it! lololo everyone vote for it right now!!! :D thx to all who helped me balance this crazy shit <3
Void Blast (3/5): Pretty well executed card, riding on the shadow priest hype train, probably gonna ride it to victory :( Im slightly worried about its power tho, with Malygos its 8 dmg for 0 cost, with Prophet Velen 6 dmg for 0 cost and then there is Shadow Visions. Its a pretty complicated combo, so i suppose that balances it out, but still :P
Phoenix Guardian (4/5): Even tho i rly dont like these kind of deathrattles "when this has 0 health do something", it still feels like a well balanced card.
Tenacious Heal (3/5): Its a cool idea, but would u even bother playin this? I mean u combo it once with Lyra the Sunshard (chances r shes dead next turn) to heal a minion and u get it back to do it again. Dunno, im not feeling it. /edit: oh forgot the Auchenai combo, guess that would make it versatile enough to deserve a card slot.
Toxic Storm (4/5): I like the flavor a lot and i suppose its balanced, tho not super reliable.
Stray Shot (5/5): Oh man i loved this card when i first saw it. Cool!
Cowardly Knight (3/5): I dont get the wow reference, if i did, i would probably like it more :p I still have very mixed feelings about this, i liked it before and i still do, but i cant decide if its too weak or good enough :p
Manafly Nest (2/5): Im not rly sure where this card should fit. Token druid? Jade druid? I mean it could mby fit into both ... or none. im not feeling it.
Tar Hatchling would have got my vote if the other Tar creatures didn't already exist, because it's good design, but just scaling down an existing Blizzard design feels cheap for this competition.
"Coward Warturtle" by LarryMoments: 6.5/10, A very strong 2 drop for Priest. Trade>heal>trade>Loop would destroy Aggro deck. However, I remember I have seen this kind of design previously(on another website).
"Vicious Demoncaller" by The RealMalfurion: 9/10, A nice and balanced card for my favorite class warlock, it protects your hands and make discard mechanism work again. Also, It would not only be used in discard warlock, it works with zoo (with Crystalweaver). Even it might make Sacrificial Pact usable. The only things that I doubt that is It would be much stronger if the Imp is 0/1/1.
"Tar Hatchling" by Vilegloom: 6.5/10, a Enchanted Raven that is an elemental and taunt in your opponent turn. Cute and nice picture. Balanced but boring.
"Back-Alley Bandit" by kegstandgoldmedal: 6.5/10, Battlecry: adding a Coin or Backstab into your hand next turn.
"Mana Hungry Elemental" by Sinti : 3/10, Imbalance, RNG
"Void Blast" by The_Edel_Bernal: 3/10, Evenif you are shadow priest, it would not be used. First, you already "used" the shadow vision in finding a Shadowform, and Shadowform already provides you a damage skill. The priest lack of card draw(from his own deck). Those shadow words are much more useful to against minions. Velen OTK priest already has mind blast, and it contaminates the pool of priest spell in Lyra.
"Phoenix Guardian" by nobravery: 6.5/10 Too strong in against aggro token deck, but the concept is nice.
"Tenacious Heal" by arpitduelist: 1/10. Extremely imbalanced, 1 cost fully restore, and who would heal the 0 cost minions? It just looks like the ability design for matching the topic only. Updated, I misunderstood this card.
"Toxic Storm" by TheProgenitor. 3/10 Imbalanced, you only need to summon a spell damage totem and having board clean. A 4+2 cost Twisting Nether is cheating. Also, I hate too much AOE in Shaman, it is broken already.
"Stray Shot" by Broeck1. : 7/10, Nice idea and good designed, 4 mana is considerable in Hunter deck. It make the position of minion be a problem like Meteor.
"Cowardly Knight" by Lathy : 8/10. Creative and balanced design, a 1 drop taunt with possible infinite value to against aggro deck. This card could block the pirate and token deck.
"Manafly Nest" by draquaza1470: 3/10 Overpower, reduce the cost of spells in druid is horrible, Jade idol, wild growth etc. Moreover, the deathrattle could summon 3 1/1 minion are also strong.
So I voted for "Cowardly Knight", "Stray Shot" and "Vicious Demoncaller" good job!
I think people are not getting the synergies with my card - Tenacious Heal. So here it is:
It obviously has synergy with Radiant Elemental and other cost reduction effects. It's decent on it's own even if you are not getting it back to your hand. For those saying it's underpowered, compare it to Ancestral Healing and Priest has access to Auchenai Soulpriest and Embrace the Shadow. So, my card can be used to remove minions cheaply and that matters a lot because, Priest has a hard time dealing with 4 attack minions and this is not a dead draw if you aren't drawing your Auchenai because this card can be used in many other ways.
For those saying it should have an option for healing hero as well, then Priest would be Tier S because then you would be able to kill your opponent with Auchenai. If I made it target only friendly characters then it would be a lot better Reno effect and also it would lose its versatality.
Tenacious Heal (3/5): Its a cool idea, but would u even bother playin this? I mean u combo it once with Lyra the Sunshard (chances r shes dead next turn) to heal a minion and u get it back to do it again. Dunno, im not feeling it. Should have probably option to heal the hero as well. /edit: oh forgot the Auchenai combo, guess that would make it versatile enough to deserve a card slot.
If my card could target heroes then it would be instant win with Auchenai and even if I made it target only friendly characters then also it would be a much better Reno effect and it would lose its versatality.
"Tenacious Heal" by arpitduelist: 1/10. Extremely imbalanced, 1 cost fully restore, and who would heal the 0 cost minions? It just looks like the ability design for matching the topic only.
I think you have completely misunderstood my card. I have written "if this costs 0" and not "if the minion costs 0". So, the effect would trigger if Tenacious Heal costs 0. You can achieve that with Radiant Elemental. Also, I think my card elegantly incorporates the competition restriction with this new mechanic.

All cards look pretty cool. Void blast's my favourite out of the bunch, followed by Coward Warturtle (Warturtle- heh) and Tenacious Heal.
Good luck everyone!

Auchenai works on Tree of Life, Reno Jackson, and Ancestral Healing, so no, this would be a damaging effect.
