posted a message on The community's standard attitude towards Wild is unhelpful and needs to be changed.

I think Wild is a fantastic format and great fun. I also think it needs to be allowed to be the crazy, high-power level format that so many people seem to be against. Trying to perpetually balance Wild is a losing battle and would just end in neutering everything fun about an eternal format.

Having said that, what Blizzard could do is some sort of compromise - a 'Wild-ish' if you will - where some cards are banned. That way the people who want a lower power format are satisfied, and those who want to play with all the cards in the game can do so.

There's a ton of modes that Blizzard could add, but I sort of understand why they don't - every additional mode they add is another mode for people to get mad at them for not balancing exactly how they want, in addition to all the split playerbase concerns.

posted a message on Problematic Basic & Classic cards: a breakdown

I'm curiouss why you would disagree on Savage Roar. I thought about it for a long time but I just can't really come up with any good reason to justify its existence given the direction they#re trying to take Druid

Token Druid is an archetype that has ebbed and flowed as long as the class has existed, almost. Savage Roar seemed like a problem in the days of '14 Health? Dead', but now it's just a reasonably powerful finisher for the archetype.

The fact that Druid has also had longer gameplay archetypes - Ramp, Mecha'thun, Heal - doesn't contradict this archetype also existing, and in fact is a good sign that this card is fine. If these other archetypes can exist, completely without using Savage Roar, I don't see the problem with it. Is it strong? Yes. Is it too strong? I don't think so.

It has plenty of counter play in the form of proactive board clearing or passive Taunt denial, as well as simply pressuring them to use it as removal instead of as face damage. I think it's fine as is.

posted a message on Problematic Basic & Classic cards: a breakdown

The only cards I really agree with here are Preparation, Mind Blast and Tundra Rhino. I can see the arguments for Malygos and Alexstrasza too, I guess.

Preparation has long been my 'Just get rid of it already' card. It completely destroys the balance of Rogue's spells, to the point that they have to get unplayable trash like WANTED! simply because it exists. It's not that it's ever been especially overpowered, it's that every single Rogue spell needs to be designed around it.

Mind Blast is just very... un-Priest. In most other classes, it would be downright broken, and the only reason it isn't consistently so in Priest is because it goes against the design of the class so much. I like the idea of Priest as a class that can bring back multiple copies of a minion and can generate a lot of spells, but as long as Mind Blast exists those styles of gameplay have an inherently too strong win-condition. Again, it kind of feels like it just needs to disappear entirely.

Tundra Rhino is an easy fix, and one which should be given to Warsong Commander now that the option exists - Rush, not Charge. Ta-da! Problem solved. Warsong can go back to its 3-Attack or less text with that change and be completely fine. The fact that Rush was introduced in an expansion shouldn't hinder this - it's not an expansion-only keyword like Echo or Adapt, but an evergreen one like Lifesteal or Poisonous.

I won't go into why I disagree with your other picks now - maybe later when I have more time to formulate my thoughts, who knows, I might end up agreeing with some of them instead - but I think you put a lot of good thought into your picks, even if many of them are the obvious ones.

Glad that they fixed the bug (since it was really broken in Arena); annoyed that they didn't see fit to announce the fix at all.

I'd argue that we should be getting a dust refund on all Tri-Class cards because of this, but that ship sailed with Lynessa Sunsorrow... and Tess Greymane... and Shudderwock... and Mekgineer Thermaplugg... and Jungle Giants... and probably several more cards that I'm forgetting.

They reverted the change to Tess.

They did. They also didn't offer a dust refund when they first made the change. Those two things can both be true.

posted a message on anonymous downvoting?

Being able to see who downvoted something opens that person up to harassment from the person they downvoted. Yes, downvote systems can be abused, but if you think that they are you can either report the person you suspect or ask a moderator to look into comments or decks you believe are being targeted.

I'd also just clarify that this post can't be downvoted, so your fears are unfounded there. Only comments and decks can be downvoted - forum posts can only be upvoted.

Also, moved this to Site Feedback, since this isn't about Hearthstone.

    Quote from Gerane >>

i wouldn't too worried about that, at least the art is nice in non golden.

What im really worried about is that why is Kill Commands art still this horrible

Kill Command's art is beautiful, I have never understood the hate for it.

In Wondroud Wand's case, I think the golden effect looks fine. It could probably be better, but I don't think it looks ugly at all.

posted a message on Shudderwock + horror interaction.

It's a bug. When Swampqueen Hagatha was first revealed Peter Whalen said on Twitter that Shudderwock would copy the Horror's Battlecry exactly, casting the same spells (and not random ones). Obviously, that means that it should be casting the Battlecry at all.

Not sure what's going on here that's causing the fuck-up. Probably some confusion about how the Battlecry is actually coded; I'd guess that it's reading it as two spells and doesn't know what to do with that, so they just don't cast.

posted a message on I have a question.

There's been datamined quests suggesting that we're getting 12 free packs, which is more than previous expansions. 6 packs doesn't equal a legendary in terms of dust, but does net you 29 extra cards, which may or may not be useful to you.

I think that getting packs instead of a random class legendary is better - since you could end up getting a Hir'eek, the Bat in Rastakhan, for example, which would feel pretty bad - but how many packs instead is up for debate.

You will be able to, but not until the expansion launches. Right now you can only open card packs from the preorder, afaik.

    Does this count?

Yeah, I designed this theme specifically with changing a minion's Attack to 0 being allowed in mind. It's based on my Experimenter class (which is why Experiment One is in the banner), which had a big theme of 0-Attack minions, changing minions to have 0 Attack and buffing 0-Attack minions.
