Violet Teacher obviously. Just play the builds that were played before Scavenger was picked up as a tech option.
I don't think it's that obvious. Chain gang druid was seen in competitive tournaments at the tail end of WW. Even without giggling, the existence of floop power creeps it over its prototype from the previous expansion. Keep in mind that evenlock is still a very popular deck with no new cards at all
How much weaker or stronger the nerfed version will be in comparison to the old teacher builds has yet to be determined
6 mana nerf was not enough to stop this abomination as they said in their article. I don't see any reason to not believe them, considering how adamant they were about not nerfing it a few weeks ago.
Apart from mana increase nerfs, other nerfs like decreasing the stats of Annoyotrons doesn't feel thematically correct. Maybe 2 mana increase kills this card, but it is necessary.

Frankly, Token Druid can probably still play GI. I think I probably would. 7 mana means less to druid than any other class.
But, if someone wants to "replace" GI, Teacher is the obvious go to, since it clearly already works.
Never going to see play again. Too bad it died because of Quest Rogue. I thought it was a good defensive tool at 5 mana.
Speaking of Quest Rogue, how much does this hit that deck?
I still think "neutral spreading plague" sees some play at 7 mana, but it's in the decks that it should have been in all along. Maybe not right away, but eventually.
I think this murders quest rogue. This was they only way it beat Aggro, and often the way that it beat control. They can't spend 7 mana ojn this.
Well, we've seen nerfs before and have said, "RIP Quest Rogue" before. And you know what they say...Rogue finds a way; Rogue always finds a way.
I hate to say it but I think Quest Rogue will still find some way to be viable.
Why didn't they just remove/hof The Caverns Below instead of this if Quest Rogue was such a pain in the ass? It's clearly limiting design space and continues to find ways to mess up future expansions even after two nerfs.
The card's value isn't even close to 7 mana. They should of buff the Inventor to a 2/2 if they are gong to to do that. This will definitely nerf Quest Rogue and a bunch of other decks. It is sad to see the card being destroyed like that.
From 5 to 7 mana after after a little more than 2 month is so silly. The nerf is not unreasonable but if the card is actually that powerful it shouldnt have taken that long for them to act.
7 is absolutely crazy, I expected six to be honest.
Hi i'm Tyler and I play hearthstone and watch anime.
Sometimes i make cards. I'd like to do that for a career one day if ever possible.
This card Totally deserved it.
It is the HS cockroach. I suppose it depends a lot on what the meta looks like. QR is always there to punish greed, which isn't awful in itself.
It was also was going like 50% against aggro. It definitely shouldn't be able to do that part anymore.
Wow, stupidity at it's finest. The devs have no clue what they are doing...

What is a good 5 mana replacement? Also, I'm glad to see this change... auto include neutral cards make the game less fun

the cockroach deck*
Rip GI 2018-2018
Did Giggles need a nerfing? Yes.
But nerfing it to 7 was a bit far, for my tastes. Hell, even 6 would have been fairly reasonable, all told.
Blizzard says it could be 'situationally played in some decks like Evolve Shaman'. ... Who the fuck is playing Evolve Shaman competitively?
It needed nerfing, but this outright kills it.
A never-Legend Dad who keeps making rank 2 or 1, but then sliding.
Rumbling around Gurubashi Arena. Shirvallah is the best loa. Go Tigers!
Ike...for about 2 months...
Thank you very much for the 2000 dust blizzard :D :D :D
I feel like this nerf makes the card unplayable. I think they should have nerfed it to 7 mana but increased the stats to a 3/2.
RIP you beautiful card, at least I'll get some good dust

Will it still get played in Odd Warrior? If not what will replace it?
As much as i dislike GI, this is a killer nerf.
It is true, however, that a single mana nerf would have been tricky, considering Even decks.
They probably realised that it is better to print a new different card in its place.
Curious to see whether it will affect the meta. Quite possible at least in Standard.

Also, my fellow Unstable Evolution fans. Never evolve your 6 drop to 7 drop if you can't evlove it into 8 drop immediately.
