Why the Electra Stormsurge version of Galakrond Shaman? I don't see that one on ladder and HS Replay seems to indicate it's not the common version either.
Great guide! One question - Soul of the Murloc is so often a dead card in my hand. I realize it's needed to chain the Frog draws, but is there any other way to go?
I can tell you from experience that there are a lot of popular decks right now that absolutely stomp quest paladin. Quest pally was more fun before before they nerfed control warrior, where you were heavily favored, but now you see less of CW.
I just hate the fact that against aggro you can play taunts or heals. But against bombs you really can't do anything other than hope that you don't draw the bombs.
Play Hunter and save Tracking until after some bombs are in your deck, then you have a good chance of discarding one or two.
I used to be a consistent "dad legend" level player who could often rocket up to rank 5. Now I find even rank ~12 a grind (I played less recently and my rank has fallen). Maybe I just can't figure out this control&combo dominated meta, but it really feels like the easier competition has thinned out. Or maybe the ex-legend players have gotten less serious and are hanging out below rank 10.
It's pretty fun, and one of the more versatile decks in terms of the matchups that it can compete with. However, the singleton nature can make it inconsistent and that can be frustrating to some. Maybe the ideal list isn't made yet, but whatever changes happen I doubt its top 3 legendaries with change (Zephrys, Zuljin, Brann).
This deck is pretty vulnerable to both aggro and combo priest. If you're asking from the standpoint of control warrior, well, this can be a rock-paper-scissors game.
This is my personal favorite fix, because Mad Genius is just. too. strong. Even after this nerf I think CW would still be advantaged against board based decks. Or they could just increase mana cost of Mad Genius, but Blizzard seems more obsessed with the aesthetics of 7/7/7 than with balanced gameplay. The original post is right, though, that changing only Warrior would not make balanced gameplay.
I guess Blizzard decided there's a big customer demand for even more 30 minute games against control warrior? Enough of this - take away rush from Mad Genius!
This much effort into a guide certainly deserves an upvote. My Togwaggle version was not getting it done against Warrior so I will try this one. Secret Hunter appears to be rising so you may want to add a few sentences about that opponent in the near future.
Since wall priests are everywhere, I am thinking about The Black Knight however couldn't find a card to replace :) Might remove 1 x Spellbreaker!
Just a thought, but maybe you could put the Black Knight in place of Mossy Horror. With wall priest Mossy is vulnerable to being used against you with Shadow Madness.

How about a simple change of the 2/1 rushers going to 1/1?

Because it feels like you got conned. I know exactly what you mean.

Maybe a third theory would be increased competition from Auto Chess....

As soon as you switch to Quest Pally you will stop facing control warrior and instantly see only mage and combo priest ;)
