Alot of people think that this card was not the problem... and most of the people think that cubelock was oppressive.... they did not address with these nerfs a single of these problems but instead nerfed a well balanced archetype (control lock). WTF
Well balanced... Insane wall of taunts multiple times over the course of the match, arguably the best of board clears in the game, option to destroy your opponent's deck in control matchup and huge burst healing. I think we have a different sense of balance.
I really dont get why people think this is a good nerf. Warlock needed that health so hard to have a chance against aggro. Same for lacky. "cheating out voidlord" on 6 was kind of the only way to survive against aggro (with a 50/50 if they found the silence or not). Now Warlock is back to tier 3 (except the loved cubelock).... gratz blizzard and to all aggro fanboys ;) I think now is my time for a ladder pause
This nerf just showed you one big middle finger. To all lock players actually. And im happy with it. .)
The problem for this card was pretty much the ridiculous damage or defense with Cube and Lackey.
If Lackey pulled out a Voidlord, well for 6 mana they thinned their deck, restored eight health, and put a massive wall on the board that could come back at turn 10 twice over (given the deathrattle and the summoned void walkers). The health was somewhat unnecessary because most of the time you already had a big wall.
Though true if the Voidlord was silenced, there would be a problem, but if that was the only way out, what would the next move be? Another Dark Pact with Cube? It is not like you can always have those cards in the case it does happen.
Warlock still has defile, hellfire, spellstones, maybe a copy of siphon soul and twisting nether.
People complain about aggro, but if you think you are fighting against aggro, your mulligan should focus on board clears, not getting a Voidlord out on the board and restoring health because if you survive the early game you just win.
Overall, I think this nerf was fair (of course I am saying this pre-nerf so take this with a grain of salt).
if you cant manage without that 4 health when warlock have the best aoe in the game and a hero power that draws you the aoe, you really dont understand how busted warlock is right now. And no it was midrange decks that was held down the most by warlock not pure aggro. So put in some extra healing like warlock should do and adapt your gameplay. warlock will still be busted with guldan alone lol
I'm gonna be honest, I would've preferred if they left it at 5 or 6 since as a Renolock player I need every bit of healing I can get when I don't draw Reno, but I can't deny that Cubelock and Warlock as a class in general is/was pretty overpowered due to the number of healing cards available. At 4 heal this card got a LOT worse imo.
Yea, I'm going to finish my climb with control warlock. Once the nerf hit, I'm just going to play Arena. Because literally, it is the only deck I liked and it wasn't even so strong that it needed to be nerfed. It just got hit as a by product of cubelock. I am okay with the lackey nerf, but this shit blows because I'll just die to Baku and Aggro Mage.
Stupid nerfs. Cubelock was the problem (cube, doomguard, weapon). Not control warlock.
Yeah it was. They both were. Both prevented any midrange deck from being viable, turning this into a meta of extremes. And it was because of lacky into pact. Nothing else. Control lock can tech in more anti aggro now and still be a very good deck. There is plenty anti aggro around. Cubelock has no room for that. This hurts cubelock way more than it does control lock. My tip? Take out those stupid gnomeferatu's, they rarely burn anything good anyway.
Maybe midrange or tempo warrior can now prey on paladins while not instantly losing to every warlock they encounter, for example.
Maybe you're right. I hope control will be viable, I spent a lot of dust on it. Like razakus, I crafted 3 legendaries and some other cards but after the nerfs I had back only raza's dust. This is not fair.

I feel your pain. I have played since naxxramas and the first deck I made was control warrior (Wallet warrior back then) and I did it by saving up dust for months XD A lot of the cards have been useless for long stretches of time. (The Black Knight, Baron Geddon, Gorehowl)
Cards like Voidlord and Rin, the First Disciple are not going away anytime soon. Voidlord is still fine on turn 9, and rin is way too powerful against control decks. However, the tradeoff for cards like that are that you have to put in an effort to get to the later turns. I really think these two nerfed cards made that too easy. Now you might have to run cards like Rotten Applebaum or Tar Creeper to get there. I really think controllock isn't going anywhere and I fully suspect that controllock will beat out cubelock now.
Honestly, doesn't do much to impact the efficiency of the card. The healing was secondary to the deathrattle triggers, and generally you win against aggro through mass board clears and early taunts rather than leaning into your healing. Not to say the nerf isn't impactful, but I'm not exactly trembling in my boots for fear of the damage it will do, as a Control Warlock player primarily recently. Lackey will hurt a lot more than this.
The heal on Dark Pact is worthless now, but it's still marginally useful as a deathrattle enabler. I didn't play Cubelock, but I have been playing a lot of RenoLock the last few months, and I was using Pact there on things like Sylvanas or Voidcaller, as well as the usual Lackey. I'll almost certainly be removing it from that deck.
I think that nerfing carnivorous cube somehow, or maybe doomguard or bloodreaver guldan, would have been a smarter choice. Back in Naxx days, when zoolock was running doomguards, I always felt that soulfire and doomguard shouldn't be playable from hand if you don't have the requisite number of cards to discard; but that nerf is irrelevant, now; nobody hardcasts doomguard anymore unless it's for lethal. Again, as someone who's played mostly warlock lately, nerfing guldan's hero power to 2 damage would probably be appropriate.
This card is absolute garbage right now. Flash heal is 1 mana heal 5. This card is a card that needs a minion to be playable
The most unneeded and bad nerf. The card is fine as it was. They should have nerfed Doomguard instead - That card is pure cancer
at 4 they killed the card. Still useful but waaaaaay worse. At 6 was acceptable

F-ing finally. I was so angry looking at warlocks healing to full health by this crap...
making warlock's comeback weaker is good. Still powerful, just not as broken

RIP control warlock. bummer, i like playing it. cubelock will still be good btw.
