I wonder how it interacts with hero cards. 1-cost Zombeast ? well, if it works, its a shame that we can't use it with Frost Lich Jaina and if it works also, Genn Greymane will be the new core card of Shadowreaper Anduin decks and they can use duplicates and they don't need to draw Raza the Chained anymore. :(
Edit: Oh sorry. The new announcement made me blind to read i presume. It worded as "starting hero power" so ok I am an idiot ! :D
If we come to the point of the Lore stuff, I am really apprecieted that we finally got Genn Greymane as a card !! Lovely.
Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
IMO the requirement is too heavy for the value for it, I don't think it will be played, but could be mistaken. In most aggro decks you would rather play Keleseth.
Immediately shutting down Shadowreaper shenanignas. Guess they learned after all.
Granted, having a 1-cost hero power turn 1 is pretty neat, but which class really benefits from this? Especially considering they'd have to cut a lot of useful cards and sacrifice tempo in the long run.
It's pointless in Hunter, Mediocre in Warrior, Somewhat useful in Paladin, uninteresting in Priest, maybe worth considering in Warlock, meme-y in Shaman, Average in Mage and inconsequential in Druid.
Granted, this probably has a deeper meaning and we'll probably get Inspire-esque effects or something, but I really don't feel there's going to be many consistant decks running this.
This card will see some play in Hunter, Warlock and Paladin for sure. Will make Face Hunter viable again where you now can cut all 1-drops in favor of 2's and 4's where your hero power will fill out t1 and t3 nicely. Will be busted in Warlock if an alternative to Cubelock comes. Might see a Handlock return. Dude Paladin will also probably love this.
Can't play in lock unless there are zoolock style cards in the set. Could be coupled well with Keleseth maybe.
Possessed Lackey is 5 cost Voidlord is 9 cost Dark Pact is 1 cost Doomguard is 5 cost Skull of Man'ari is 5 cost Cube is 5 cost
On the flip side, the odd cost version may be even worse for controlock or cubelock, as their control comes from Defile (2), Hellfire (4), Spellstone (4), Siphon Soul (6), and Twisting Nether (8). Plus the complete negation of Gul'dan (10).
Reducing the cost of draw or making it not damage you are pretty pointless when you pull all of the OP cards out of your deck to run it.
I think Paladin and Hunter can make very good use of this. Lock I'm very doubtful for.
In effect, this gives you a free Hero power every odd turn, since using it on an even turn causes you to float 1 mana (effectively the same as if you had not included Genn Greymane).
It's worth noting that zero is an even number, so Innervate and Counterfeit Coin can work, but by default the only thing they will allow you to do is Hero Power unless you play two of them.
Even with the restrictions, a free Life Tap every odd turn is insanely powerful. I'm so happy for Warlock; it's been in such a bad place lately.
Kind of a cool card. I think in most every class this is pretty good. I can very easily see a Big Warrior deck with this. Druid I think will struggle with the requirement a little bit as it currently exists. Kinda pointless in priest. Really, really good in Mage, Warlock and Hunter. Turn one Life Tap is actually pretty huge. Shaman and Paladin will both like this in token style decks quite a bit. It's actually really, really strong in rogue too (a turn one weapon is pretty huge for getting early board control).
But I think primarily this is one of those cards like Keleseth that just sounds awful on paper but will wind up being pretty decent.
Just like with the other legendary I really like how the worgen opens up challenging deck-build scenarios, which just wait to be discovered. I also like the potential of this card, how the two legendaries, which synergise with the HP, are both connected and separated from each other (you can't put them both in your deck and benefit from them as the same time). Kudos to the devs for this card.
Let's see which classes would benefit from a 1 mana HP - paladin, hunter?, shaman, warlock (if it's a zoo deck). Not so sure about the last 3 cases, but in paladin this really does show some potential, as every aggro paladin player would care about spamming cheap dudes on the field.
This legendary doesn't work with modified HPs, even with the ones of a DK. oh right then
Things could change as cards release but it just might be too restrictive. Yes, the princes saw play but theres a big difference between one mana slot restrition and 5 mana slot restrictions.
So, what about zero mana minions, are they allowed to play with both odd and even-mana only cards?
This is a tricky cards I like this kind of cards that encourages people to create different types of archetypes.
effect is legit it is really good but deck will decide if this is worth to play so I will not vote good or bad to this card.

I tried having fun once. It was awful.
EDIT: Ignore this comment lmao
Probably playable in the right deck.

Such a good character with such a bad effect... Greymane has been Illidan'd.

What happens if you play a mission? Will it be considered to be in your deck or in your hand at the start of the game??
This makes me think inspire might make a comeback

For now, I think this is just a really bad card.
