I don't think the problematic manipulation is with card draws, I think the manipulation is with the matchups. If youre doing well with x deck, lets say you win 8 in a row, you will start to queue into bad matchups. If you think, hey, ill counter this new influx of y decks that beat my x deck with this new z deck, the game will match you against the v deck that beats z. Switch back to x and you will encounter y decks again. This will happen until you get closer and closer to a 50% winrate.
The best success ive ever had in this game was when I would log in to play just my daily quests. I would routinely get top 1000 legend this way. But, if played 20-30 games a day, I would have less success.
If youre a streamer who plays 6-10 hours a day and play 100's of games a day, then yeah, you will still progress faster/fastest, but it takes a whole lot to get there.
Loatheb is probably the best ever. He was seen in about as many decks as Zillax currently. The knock is that Loatheb is much more of a complicated play. You tend not to just slam him on 5 or when youre low health. The most effective plays came when knowing just the right time to disrupt your opponent. He was a literal game winner (and still is), but an intelligent game winner.
Ive been playing in wild a little bit since ive casually returned to the game. You do see Zillax more there, but that is mainly due to the meta (games over on T4-7 very often, so life gain is a premium. Tons of combo decks, so taunt is really great for slowing that down.) But, Loatheb still sees play.
you could draw geist first and still have it work. After you geist, you simply need to a bit more luck. Your next draw needs to be lens, and then lens needs to hit thun and the other lense.
Its the nature of the game. There is no way around it. The same can be said for ESL, MTG, Yugioh etc. Essentially the gameplay of these games comes down to two things. These two things are threatsand answers. If you dont have an answer to a threat, you lose.
It may feel worse in the current state of the game because so many classes have access to so many very powerful threats that it feels too "swingy". However, the fundamental underpinnings are the same, and they will always been the same.
MTG is even worse in this regard in some situations. T2 stony silence vs affinity is 99% an instant scoop for the affinity player if they dont have an answer (just on example, there are many, many more).
10 games a day sounds like a solid plan if you stick to this methodology.
Many players will tell you that achieving legend, or even rank 5, is just all about the number of games you play. That is completely untrue.. The only relevance that # of games has to do with achieving the rank you want is the minimum number needed.
Playing when youre winning and logging off when youre losing is a recipe for success. Playing when youre tilted or getting bad matchups does nothing but waste your time and effort. Slow and steady wins the race, and you will find that you can achieve the rank youre going for VERY quickly when you use this methodology.
Cool deck. Has good top end power. I just dont think its as good as even pally with Equality. That card is just simply too good right now. And Blessing of Kings helps you end games early against warlock and quest rouge.
Basically it comes down to whats more powerful in your mind, 6 mana, 2 bodies and ~9/9 in stats, or a one sided board wipe to push for lethal.
I dont see any decks that are problematic by themselves. The most unfun deck to play against would for sure be quest rouge but that has already been nerfed.
Its mostly Odd Pally, Cubelock. Some odd Hunter to counter Cubelocks. The rest is filled in mostly with Spiteful decks.
Personally, i havent had any luck so far this expansion. Sporting a losing record since the launch of the expansion playing mostly odd paladin and cubelock. My worst deck has absolutely been odd paladin. Just bad, bad luck on my end, or maybe this meta just doesnt click with me and im messing up my mulligans every game.

well, its a little more than a tech card. It give your opponent two dead draws regardless if they are highlander/pure decks or not.

I think classic and basic should rotate completely, and they should allow cards from older sets into standard periodically to simulate reprints.
