It is a shame that Charge got nerfed, otherwise there would have been a otk with Emperor Thaurissan, if the opponent draws the third candle with two Coldlight Oracles.
So far, 43.2% of 1267 voters suspect that spending a card and 4-mana to do nothing is meta-defining.
Apart from aggro, virtually every other deck in the game runs multiple answers to individual big threats, or they run board clears. The Darkness is kind of like a 4-mana 20/20 with "Battlecry: Freeze this minion for 10+ turns" - except you can't Silence it, Taunt it, or do anything else with the body. If you manage to survive long enough for this to activate, it gets answered before it attacks. As far as using this to prevent Raza from triggering - about half the time, the Priest plays Raza before you stick a bunch of candles in their deck.
The reason most people voted meta defining is that you have a card that 100% of the time fucks over razakus when played on curve.
The rest does not really matter.
If priest played his raza first then congrats, you got a dead card for the rest of the game
Really cool card. Counters priest potentially but it’s probably garbage just because it way to easy to remove minions these days. You could freeze it, throw out some taunt, or destroy with deadly shot, vilespine slayer and the crap ton of other removal spells
Am I missing something? Why do people say its only good against highlander decks? Its a 4 mana 20/20, 4 mana is NOTHING, you can play it anytime when you are ahead or control the board, its only not so good when ur losing and behind.. and after you play it, it can become dormant anytime your opponent draws 3 candles, so he will have to also save 1 hard removal, for a 4 mana monster, so he is 1 hard removal down for your other win condition monsters, and if he has no choice than to use it then he doesn't have any for darkness which is a 20/20. This card is pretty solid quite overall, not just against specific decks!
The only reliable deck i see with this card is fattige mage. Play this and two simulacrum as your win condition. In late game play the three the darkness. That means 9 candles in your opponent deck and you only need to draw three of them to summon the three the darkness. The only hard remuval is twisting nether. The new priest card is not that bad because you can re play them and that means more candles.
Probably the Troggzor of the set. Everyone wants to play it because Razakus is the deck to hate atm, many will craft him, realize he's actually sh!t, and lose 1200 dusts in the process.
Good against recruit decks. They reduce your waiting time by thinning their deck for you :p
Only if recruit (one of the worst mechanics imho) becomes viable. This card will lose you games to agro/tempo decks, a much larger part of the meta.
Oh the card is definitely not worth running, but if by some weird reason recruit sneaks into the meta and you were some unlucky sap to unpack this, you may be able to toss it in.
This card is really bad.. it’s like saying: just you wait 15 turns, then my creature will rise and attack you, and you will see my 4 mana will not have been in vain..

LOL. Have you played Hearthstone at all lately?? The game is all about TEMPO. Turn 4 is fairly important, and to have a zero tempo turn 4 will be VERY BAD against many (most) decks that are played these days.
Good luck to you, though. Don't lose too many tears after you craft it and then end up dusting it a month later.
Ill try this in a Highlander or Handlock deck over Mountain Giant. Good Faceless Shambler, Sunfury, Defender target. Drop this 4, opponent won't care, Shambler on 5.

love how they adapt lore.
This is every Kobold's fear and why they take candle.

This is exactly what I needed for my Togwaggle-Rogue list:
So does it sit there on the board getting hammered while you wait to find the candles.
What happens is you silence it?

If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.

Yeah, a toast!
I already loved this set. I now feel obliged to adore it.
Definitely one of my crafted legendaries. Not because it's good, because it's me.
All the losers playing cockzakus wont like this. Which is fine. No one likes them!
Hello!
Can it just be silenced...?
