No, it's worse. Entomb can save your life by removing the minion with the biggest power when you are low on life. Here, they just go into your face with the minion because you won't even have a next turn.
Entomb guarantees you the minion and his Battlecry, Embrace Darkness guarantees nothing. In the best case you get an already damaged minion, in the worst case they kill the minion you want to get by killing your own best minion.
Heck, it's not even a good SW:D...
It's not a swingy card. Neither is Entomb. If you're so low that one big minion's going to end you, then you were fucked regardless.
Really don't know if this is good or not... a 6 mana mind control-ish... in theory it works well but its a delayed play that can also force bad trades and could back fire... so playable?
Yeah, man, this type of argument really makes me pop a veign. Just like they said about Maelstrom Portal, "Arcane Explosion doesn't see any play so Maelstrom Portal won't see any play either". Like, WTF?!
I think this card is potentially viable as a one off if true control Priest comes back into fashion. Its certainly an answer to certain board states but like a lot of Priest cards the situational nature means it won't see play in decks faster than glacial.
It is expensive. However, it is a huge swing the next turn. Not only does it remove the opponents minion, it also summons this minion on your side. If you can take the beating, the following turn will be a high tempo turn. However, it is a future Investment.
I think it is worse than entomb for big minions that can hurt you massively (Ragnaros, Ysharrij, Core Hound (haha, just kidding)) . It is better against value minions where you just take a hit. Examples would be Cairne Bloodhoof , Ysera (although Dream can disrupt it) or a silver Hand recruit buffed with Spikeridged Steed). They have the Option, trade/Suicide the minion away or get face damage in and deal with it the next turn.
It feels like something in between Entomb , Sylvanas Windrunner and Corruption . If the meta is not too fast, I think it is playable in Standard.
The only way I can see this working is with Glacial Shard, but who runs Glacial Shard in a priest deck xD This card suffer from the same problem that Corruption and Corrupting Mist does. Waiting a whole turn to do something is not worth it really.
Funny, I think this card has a lot of potential, although I can see where people think it's too slow are coming from. But in the control game it's often okay to let the card hit face/minions/generate value for a turn. Uhhhh... I dunno. Corruption wasn't that great but saw a 1 of in some decks. Obviously this card is leagues worse against aggro. But the fact that it's not a less then 1 for 1 against control like corruption is... They still need to kill the card afterwards....
I can see it working out sorta. I'm Hesitant about if it will see play. But I don't think it's an awful card.
- For the same mana cost Sylvanas gives you a 5/5 body (which is better than ability to target a specific minion)
- While Embrace Darkness gives you control faster and without the need to pay the card's mana cost, Entomb removes the target immediately, without giving your opponent a chance to play around it, gives you ability to trigger battlecries and increases your deck by 1 card (the latter probably irrelevant now that Archbishop Benedictus exists). So overall, Entombis much better.
Basically what I'm saying is that this card may be experimented with in Standard for the next 2 years, but it will never see play in wild now or in the long run. Also, although dropping the price from 10 down to 6 is a big deal, the ability to Mind Control the target immediately is an even bigger deal. And we all now how much mind control is played right now.
Curse doesn't work for 1 mana how this will work for 6 ?
This is a Lyra the Sunshard nerf.
Not sure if hyped yet.
There are great targets for this. Especially 4atk dragons like twilight drake and primeordial drake. This will see play. At least one copy.
6 mana - do nothing is unplayable.
Make the Card: The biggest thread on the site!
My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.
(Most) People are underestimating this card. Wait and see.

Love all the stealing flavour! Very slow though, but immense value if you can make it work
What's with the art tho? It looks like it needs more JPEG Kappa
1. Opponent plays White Eyes and buff him with Cryostasis.
2. You play Embrace Darkness
3. Profit
Problem would be
4. Hex
Yeah it could actually work in a memey steal priest deck where you will steal the opponents freeze stuff. Lots of fun!

Bad, maybe will see play for 4 manas, for 6 I prefer use a big mass removal like dragonfire potion and for big targets like Tirion the Mind Control.
Obvious Lyra nerf

An excellent card!.. to be cast by Yogg-Saron.
Not so much to be received from Lyra
This is basically printed to replace Sylvannas Windrunner and Entomb is Standard.
