I think that Elise Starseeker is the most unhealthy card in the game. Let me explain why:
Using control against aggro is as braindead as using a face deck. You just remove cards by any mean while the aggro player hit your face by any mean. You have some decision space like taking some extra damage to clean the board with a better area/not using something to maximize the amount of damage that you can cause to the face.
But when you play Aggro vs Aggro/Control vs Control the game become much more complex. That complexity keep going in Aggro vs Aggro but not in Control vs Control. And the reason is Elise Starseeker.
Control mirror used to be really complex: You had to take a lot of decisions while u handled all the threats. But now, the whole mirror match up is: Discarding things from your hand until you play the monkey and pray to have a better bunch of legendaries than your enemy. The only decision that you can really take is when to play th Golden Monkey, thats all.
No, the most unhealthy RNG cards are cards the singlehandedly win you games if you get lucky with them, and singlehandedly lose you games if you got unlucky with them. Examples of these cards are Yogg, Tuskar Totemic, and Ram Wrangler.
Disguised Toast made a whole video about Tuskar Totemic and how it significantly changes your winrate.
Thats exactly what Elyse does. She win you/lose you the game. Because in aggro you wont play the monkey, only against control. So when it works, its only RNG
They just have the capacity to swing a game. Elise ALLWAYS dictate the way the game is played and ALLWAYS win or loose you the game. And yogg is just a panic button; if you loose you already lost before playing it and if u win you swinged yes, but just a posibility
Fortunately for us all, Blizz has been working on taking more of the crazy RNG cards and lowering their insanity. I mean, Tuskarr only being able to summon basic totems made it way weaker, and the only time any Shaman would want it is off a lucky spell damage totem for Spirit Claws or for the Evolve value. And with Yogg's effect ending early if it gets destroyed or is returned to your hand, it's been slightly more bearable and as a result I really haven't seen anyone running Yogg in their decks lately.
But what I wonder is only one of us has mentioned Evolve. I mean, it can be as unreliable as any other RNG mechanic (like when you turn your Totem into a Doomsayer, we've all had that moment) but the fact that you can, for 1 mana, take a whole board full of nothing but totems and some cost-reduced cards and turn them into much larger minions is just so annoying, and part of the reason why Shaman lead the way for board control decks to dominate everything. The other reason being that Aggro decks were completely destroyed after WoG until Karazhan came out and made Secret Hunter a thing.
Thats exactly what Elyse does. She win you/lose you the game. Because in aggro you wont play the monkey, only against control. So when it works, its only RNG
I think elyse is no where near as unhealthy as you are making out to be.
i play the golden monkey lots of time against aggro and win most of the time, and sometimes i play it against control decks and loose. It it not just "aggro you wont play the monkey, only against control". it a matter of playing it at the right moment. A 4 mana 6/6 taunt is much better against aggro than control anyway.
Elyse can be a very cool card to put in your deck and mirror match ups and be some of the funniest games. What fun about cards like Entomb that just steals a big minion or Thing from bellow that can be a 0 mana 5/5 taunt? Atleast Elyse is fun, as you dont know what you are getting and require skill to survive to draw the monkey.
There are many worse rng cards than Elyse:
Firelands Portal- your opponent Get doomguard or rock elemental and you can loose automatically of that.
Unstable Portal- So Get dr boom or Rag and you Have larger chance to win.
Knife Juggler or Flamewaker- can offer you a win condition, by dealing constant damage randomly and killing your enemies creatures.
Elyse is random yes, but its a win condition. Elyse is just the correct amount of Rng, as most legendaries are not very good on their own, so you do have to get lucky, but drawing the map, drawing the money, keeping board control and making careful decisions require more than just game winning Rng.
I means what is more skillful? surviving 15 turns against an aggro or control deck and playing the monkey, getting random legendaries you have to choose to play at the right time OR Playing Firelands Portal on your opponents face and then getting Leeroy Jenkins to win the game automatically.....
Imo opinion Elyse is not the worse Rng card in the game.
Control Warrior loyalists can't wait for Justicar and Elise to rotate, at least when it comes to the mirror in Justicar's case since it also really hampers the option to go in for a win instead of inevitable fatigue. The match is usually decided by: 1) one player draws Justicar well before the other, building significantly more armor, 2) one player gets a ridiculously early Monkey, running the other out of removal, 3) who has the better Monkey legendaries.
But Elise is still usually a turn 20 convert the Acolytes and Shield Blocks you held into legendaries. That's not nearly as unhealthy as turn 4 play a 3/4 with 1/1 Rag, Highmane, Malygos, Auctioneer, Cairne, or Tirion. Even watching Blizzcon, RNGnaros flips were dictating the outcome of every other game, not Elise legendary pulls.
To me, unhealthy cards are ones that offer too much power for too little risk.
One of my least favourite cards of all time is Flamewaker, because the "random" factor of the card does not balance out the sheer power it offers you. In theory, all those flame missiles could hit your face and leave your minions alone. In practice, lower health minions barely have time to say a prayer the second Flamewaker hits the board. It's similar to Dr. Boom, in that despite the randomness, all the free damage you're getting means you're going to win more often than you lose.

I'll be the first to admit that the spare parts flamewaker deck I played during BRM was real fun, but the card is a bit too powerful. I think it was Kripp who said the card is just too hard to kill in addition to being a strong effect on board. 4 Health dodges most early game AOE and other spells. The only relaible answer is Shadow Word: Pain. And you're not playing Priest.
I think Entomb is a very strong candidate for most unhealthy card.
Basically you punish the enemy for putting powerful cards in their deck, that's the most anti-fun mechanic in the whole game.
No, you punish the enemy for not playing around Entomb when they know every decent Priest deck runs it.
You feel bad when Priest plays Entomb? How do you think the Priest feels when you play a field of 4-attack minions? Should we start calling those unhealthy?
Different classes play by different rules. It's part of the game, and it's time you got used to that.

Isn't it funny how one of the best Arena players in the world claimed her position by being exceptionally skilled at drafting and piloting aggro decks, when so many other top Arena players are very, very bad at it?

i only have hate stupid priest steal. this game just decide by what card they steal. ie: steal sylvanas end up i need to deal with 2 sylvanas and losed games.
the MSG RNG will be terrible. dont tell me you need skill to buff or build specific deck. they can just put the buff card and hope rng carry them. However, nobody complain MSG Grimy Goons +/+ card. the random minion buff will decide the games. imagine turn 4 - kor'kron elite 6-5 just easy smorc the face for lethal, or you play around everything have 20 hp and think you safe. keep forbiden healing in hand but you get otk 15-20 by grommash due to the RNG buff

"die, insect!"
Nah but seriously, rng has been discussed to death already. At least blizzard got one thing right, "we're gonna be rich!"
Question everything.
