Don't do it, i repeat DON'T do it you will regret it so hard. Wild is much more fun than standard and when the next rotation hits wild will be so much cooler.
I'm new to the game (joined june or july so I dont have wild cards yet) but I'd never dust my cards once the rotation hits for loe, brm and tgt. Wild will be better and I guess tons of players will go for it since such a massive chunk of the cards is going to be rotated out. I guess you'll deeply regret dusting your wilds. I know how much I want legendaries from naxx and gvg but they're just being too expensive for me atm as I want to get the classic and latest cards. I'd kill for the opportunity to get Loatheb for example for 700 g instead of 1600 dust...
If you browse the forum a bit to go back when the Standard rotation first happened you'll get some first hand answers where a whole lot of people were upset that they did it and it ended up being a terrible idea.
I'd say never, ever do it if you have even the slightest doubt that you might regret it later. If you go all the way and dust everything there is no getting back.

If you say LUL in Twitch chat you are a moron. If you do it outside of Twitch - even more so!
Has anyone opted to just dust Wild cards and go all in on standard only? Maybe to help improve their collection for Standard?
I did this at the last rotation and have never really regretted it (Wild is a shit-show of epic proportions). The only time I was kind of sad I did this is when I was doing the heroic adventures in Karazhan. But I still managed to get them all done without the old cards.
Ancestor's Call (doesn't even work in a fun deck. Like a faaaaar worse Dirty Rat that mostly doesn't right when having multiple minions on your own hand. Makes combos unpredictable.)
Ancestor's Call currently sees significant play at top Legend with Maly Shaman. DON'T DUST THIS CARD !!
I'd recommend keeping as many as you can. Not only are they useful in TB or Adventures, but sometimes you can get bored of Standard and want to play Wild.
Like others said, most people regret dusting their wild cards. Once the next rotation happens, tons of people will move to wild so they can keep playing their reno decks. They will have to recraft alot of wild cards like sludge, shredder, boom, loatheb, etc.
I dusted all my wild cards BIBLETHUMP. Nah its ok.. can always craft em again one by one when i need em.
The cost to recraft is at least 4x what you got in dust. One of my friends did that, he's had to spend a few hundred dollars buying packs to recraft everything he dusted. Expensive mistake :(
Don't dust except the really bad cards like Maexxna, you can't predict how the new cards will interact with the old ones and I believe Wild will become much more popular after next rotation, the diference between card pool will increase a lot and some players don't have the time/money to keep your collection always fresh.
For those of us who want to craft some GvG or Naxx cards to start playing Wild, does anyone have a solid list on where to start? I mean the legendarys are nice (Dr. Boom etc.) but what would you say the staple common/rares are to start building some semi-competitive Wild decks?
I've dusted all my cards from Naxx to GvG and I have no regrets. I'll be in standard anyway. It is up to you. You will play that cards in Wild? You're planning anything like that? You spend money in game or you are F2P? If you are F2P I'd recommend to dust them to craft the new cards.
If you play priest: Lightbomb and any debuffs (silences, etc.).
Have an Eater of Secrets ready (I know, Old Gods card). Secret pallies and hunters abound.
N'zoth decks can be a pain to deal with too. And get ready for sludge belchers and deathlords blocking your way from killing Kel'Thuzad.
Haven't played much wild since Gadgetzan came out (I did the reverse: I just came back to Hearthstone since leaving a bit after the Naxx release -- I spent the last few months trying to get cards so I could play standard) but games tend to be slightly slower unless you get a mech deck user.

I've played a lot of wild since MSoG, and surprisingly only faced 1 or 2 secret paladins. Mostly dragon priests, pirate warriors (sometimes even with ship cannon so its not just a standard deck), Renolock, tempo mage, and some anyfin pally with finja to get their combo out a lot faster.

I did a lot of them, but remember, some of the useful Wild cards will help in Adventures. I made that mistake
Cogito ergo sum

Dusting bad wild cards won't do any harm, but dusting the good ones is something you will probably regret at some point.
