As long as brawl and execute are cards I think Control Warrior will exist in some form.
I think this is the answer. Some form of Warrior playing Execute, Shield Slam, and Brawl will still see play because they are such excellent and efficient removal.
CW may have to look for some more midrange minions and burst combos as a finisher now though.
The Jade Druid hype is out of control. Druid is horrible at efficient removal. If there is any viable aggro deck, Jade Druid won't be meta-viable. Control Warrior is still the king of shutting down aggro. It may not be top shelf but it will be fine.
Bigger concern for Warrior is if control priest is meta viable. Control priest just wrecks any control Warrior thanks to Entomb.
I won't be so sure about that. Warriors have enough removal to get rid of every big minion in this list. The only problem they're facing is that need some way to win as the Druid will now win the fatigue war all the time.
No one knows yet if golem druid will be meta-viable.
And even if it was viable, would it stop control warrior? You cant fatigue them but could still win with Elise. They'd need insane amount of card draw to realise that dream of vomitting infinite golems. Is a deck like that viable against the sheer aggro paladins and fasters druids will provide? Dont think so.
And even if druid was going that fatigue style, they'd still need big board clears and so on... which they've lacked since forever. Druids isnt ever gona be a control deck according to me. They'll always ramp into minions and board of some sort. If there's a golem druid, it's not gona happen with auctioneer according to me. Yes they'll play the idol, as one card among many to start spawning golems. And that card will turn fatigue to their advantage, but without auctioneer, they'll need to actually draw all those threats late game.
And even if that druid was auto-lose for warrior, would it stop the deck? It would just be 1 deck among many on ladder. Having CW as autolose has never stopped freeze mage to be played. (Just right now freeze has too many bad matchups with hunter druids and warriors).
Who says druid will always win on fatigue now anyway. Every time I play against a deck that started 5 cards up due to the five legendary gain. I Still beat them on fatigue. Because they're drawing more cards faster too.

One copy of Jade Idol is enough as for every last Idol you draw you put 3 more in your deck.
I think that jade druid is going to be insta-lose for CW. Dunno how oppressive this deck is going to be but in the Jade Druid Meta future of CW looks really grim.
Is it too bad to have a different opinion? CW is also known ResidentSleeper for a reason. Even Control Priest is more exciting, lol. That is my 100% unequivocally fallible opinion. Odly enough my winning percentage with Control Priest is in the high 40%.... But I like to play it more :P

Great art can never be created without great suffering.
I feel new warrior legendary will be with anti-fatigue effect, or something like this, that can beat jade druid as well.
Not anymore it doesn't. The execute nerf was really rough. I'm afraid that CW will take an even bigger hit in MSG because of that.

Time to bring out the old 3 dragon control warrior deck. My deathwing and ysera have been laying idle for too long.

However, I must admit it's not easy thinking of something that allows a Warrior to have enough burst to finish a deck like this.

It was a death for Worgen Warrior when Charge was nerfed.
It's not a death for Control Warrior if meta will change.

I hope not, CW is my favorite deck, the only 2 decks I like to play instead CW is tempo mage and Reno rogue.

At least they get Sleep with the Fishes in the new expansion.

CW has consistently been one of the stronger decks in HS. I don't see that changing with this xpac.
It has some of the best removal in the game, the best sustain, incredible consistency, and one of the most flexible core sets.
CW isn't going anywhere.
