posted a message on Book of Mercenaries: Guff Runetotem - Druid

Horrible run. Your deck has nothing to do with what's being put on the board by the enemy. They swarm the board with rush poison minions while you're twiddling your thumbs ramping up mana.

    This really needs an adjustment.

posted a message on New Demon Hunter Legendary Card Revealed - Death Speaker Blackthorn

This is really frustrating. So many other classes need this kind of deathrattle support, but DH gets it out of nowhere. This doesn't feel organic at all.

This is surprisingly synergistic. Swindle and secret passage really made this archetype click.

May actually be somewhat competitive now...

posted a message on Remove Tickatus from the game already.

I've done the Tickatus/Brann combo a couple times now, and I do agree as much fun as it is to disrupt combo decks, it's far too easy to pull off and just wins you the game on the spot many times. Not to mention leaving your opponent likely really salty. I don't get much enjoyment out of disrupting decks that don't rely on combos either.

I don't know how to modify this card, however. The effect needs to be changed completely. A mana adjustment isn't enough.

posted a message on This is why Goldrinn was nerfed...

Before parrot, I would have leaned more towards mama. Now it's all about Goldrinn and Baron synergy to pump up beasts. Goldrinn makes beasts work, simple as that.

If they rework mama a bit to be a tier 5 minion I can see beasts come back as the token tribe it used to be.

posted a message on This is why Goldrinn was nerfed...

This nerf came straight out of nowhere, and I don't think many agree with it. Beast as a tribe is now more or less dead.

Goldrinn is the heart of any Beast build. There is no reason at all to consider Beasts now over Murlocs or even Pirates.

posted a message on AoO Prologue is a Huge Disappointment

The Prologue was fine. Good intro to Illidan and it was short and to the point.

The real disappointment is Blizz milking the release by locking out the DH for another week. Like, really? Doesn't feel good at all.

posted a message on Is mage oppressive in Wild?

Anyone complaining about Mage should take a look at Warlock. They can do about the same absurd power turns as Mage except earlier.

Regardless, a couple classes in a pretty high tier at the moment. I don't think any of them are unbeatable as they all have weaknesses, but it takes a strong deck and good RNG to have a chance. Toning down Mage and Warlock a tad would not be amiss.

posted a message on New ranking system

I take back my previous reply. This new system is horrendous.

Let's start with the rewards, which I have determined are dirt crap. The rewards consist of Cards of differing rarity, going up to the one sole epic, but it's mostly rares. You also get a couple extra packs of the newest expansion. Anyone at all who saves up for the expansion will likely have all commons and rares because of the new duplicate protection. 5 packs of the latest expansion is more of the same. Extra dust, but not really meaningful. Whereas before (not saying that the rewards were spectacular before) you could at least get some gold cards that were not in your collection yet.

I suppose dust value is relatively similar (haven't made the math) if that's all you care about, but then... you have to grind for it.

Speaking of the grind. I have hit Plat 5 and lost my bonus. I now need to acquire 15 stars to get to the next rank floor, or 45 stars total to make it to legend. I can still win streak, but at my current win rate of 58% I don't see myself getting those too often.

So... what's the upside here? I don't get why you would remake the system in a way that is worse for the player. I suppose hitting legend is more feasible if you're dedicated, but that just goes to show it only rewards those who really keep playing. Casuals are royally arsed.

I am simply astounded at how greedy Blizzard has become with HS... and that despite apparently slowing sales.

posted a message on New ranking system

I see a lot positivism around the new bonus star rank system. I personally find it downright awful.

It *is* very good if you consistently play and go to the equivalent of at least Rank 5 in the old system. But if you don't play for a while, you get severely penalized. Imagine climbing back up from Bronze with no star bonus. I would take ages.

The rewards help fill out your collection I guess. I much preferred getting golden cards however, as those are more difficult to obtain.

The only people I can see this system benefit is the consistent Rank 5+ players. Anyone else is in for a rough time.

(Was R7 wild previously, was provided an x7 bonus. Now at Plat 10 with x2. Not looking forward to getting higher.)
