What is the strategy here? I am 0-7 vs Quest Rogue at Rank 5 with my Dragon Priest deck. Now that they use Vanish, I have no idea how to win this matchup. Even using another priest deck, I cannot see a winning strategy.
Vanish > 30 damage next turn. Even against bad draws where i have a strong board and they have 10 health, I cannot win as they will eventually draw vanish and or glacial shard lockdown.
Dragon priest is weak vs quest rogue, there is nothing you can do about it but if you want play priest and win vs quest rogue try silence priest, you will have a much more easy match vs them.
Dragonfire potions. Use your Visions to fetch them from your deck too (over Elise's packs even).
Be patient in using them though. If they have 2 5/5's on board, take that 10 damage like a man. Next turn they usually develop a full board for you to kill over and over.
I won't say it's an easy match-up, but this way it's winnable (I'll give you 35-40% odds).
Something that is also important: as soon as they are at 3/4 with their quest, consider every minion a 5/5 already. Trade these things as much as possible, and use your Shadow Word: Pain & Potion of madness early without much value; after their quest is completed those cards are garbage.
You can do your best, but you will never have a good winrate in that matchup. That'san inherent problem with quest rogue, the only real counter is to switch deck completely since there are practically no tech cards against it.
You could probably tech in Dirty Rat if you aren't playing it already. I'm about to start experimenting with that and Weasel Tunneler in a quest priest deck. The key is for rogues to have their kick back cards. If they don't have them because they are drawing what would be a dead card without kicking it back or if their kick back card has been summoned without kicking anything back, then that slows them down. during that time, you need to be making them pay.
Silence priest does the best against rogue, but it's still very tricky with vanish being in most quest rogue these days. You have to save a silence spell & divine spirit/inner fire cards. Once they vanish, you play the statues again. It's unlikely that they will have a second vanish in hand. Quest rogue is still slightly favored in this matchup (mainly due to vanish)
I play Dragon Priest with Inner Fire as a win condition: the way I beat Rogues is by mulligening for early board control and a heavy combo by turn 6. If I can not pull it off, I am typically out of luck.
There is no counter, the only way to win is getting 3-4 Dragonfire Potions before they complete the quest, and if the rogue is smart you're going to lose anyways. Dirty Rat is good too, specially in wild with Brann on turn 5, you're more likely to pull the right minion. Just dodge them and pray for a better matchup.

When you pass the turn and the quest rogue already has 2x 5/5s on board:
With experience I can tell that this tip is wrong. if you pass the turn you're super likely to take at least 15 damage from hand with charges. You're always better off clearing.

I am decent against all other matchups - help!

1. Change your ign to "Priest"
2. Make a pirate warrior deck
3. Play ladder and destroy all quest rogues
4. Profit
Just like freeze mage vs. control warrior
you dont.

Build a board early game and pray they don't have prep vanish...
You have to lose that matchup anyway , every deck has weakness

i'd say worst match up for priest, it's rough when you get a lot quest rogues in a sitting, i feel ya.
