posted a message on Edwin VanCleef

It really depends on a lot of things.

4-4 on turn 3 is good enough and most of the times it's correct to not go higher than that versus paladin (specially control), mage, priest, shaman, rogue. These are classes that can deal with 6+ attack Edwin pretty easily most of the times. Think about SW:D, Frostbolt, Aldor, Vilesipine/Sap, Hex/Devolve etc. Basically you wasted both Edwin and your whole hand for nothing if they have any answer (which they will 99% of the times). You have to play for value here. If you have a crazy good starting hand though like Prep, Pod, Edwin, Coin, Coin... then just go for it on turn 1, game could be over before they can respond.

Versus Druids, Hunter and Warriors, generally it's correct to even waste some cards in order to make Edwin bigger. It's unlikely they have an answer for it even though they do run cards like Deadly Shot, Spellbreaker, etc. But you won't win if you don't race them down.

Versus Warlock, just play around Siphon mostly and their 3 dmg AoE. If you have small pirates/minions on board keep in mind Defile+Spellpower is pretty strong.

Sunkeeper first, it is the most important one and a must.

Tirion second  if you play other paladin archetypes, otherwise go for Finja. You can cut/replace them though, although Finja is extremely good. The more aggresive lists don't even run Tirion.

You need all the epics though. The deck wouldn't be playable at all without Inquisitors.

Craft the deck because you like the playstyle, the class, and the murloc theme. If you craft it only to farm ladder points you're gonna be disappointed.

posted a message on aggro murloc pala vs. druids

Murloc Paladin is not as strong as people think. It's a deck that relies too much on curve. Inquisitor into Rockpool into Warleader? Sure Jade druid won't last more than 5 turns. But on the other hand, when your hand is clogged with 4+ mana cost cards, you actually have no way to dictate the pace of the game, and you have to pray for a missplay from your opponent. With other classes/decks, you have huge impact cards that can swing the game by themselves (dragonfire potion, brawl, siphon soul to name a few). With Murlocs it's just develop a board or die, no other way.

Craft the deck because you like the class, the playstyle, the murloc theme. Not because it's low tier1/high tier2 and legend capable, cuz if that's your goal, be prepared to fail first.

posted a message on Is worth crafting Bolvar, Fireblood?

It's not as bad of a card as people think. However it's still not worth crafting, specially if you play murlocadin. Skelemancer/Cobalt Dragon are good 5 mana replacements (if not better).

posted a message on How do you play murloc pally in this meta?

Your opponent will always GG draw and your curve sucks. That's just hearthstone bro.

Aside from that, you could try a different build with some more late-game cards. I saw Cydonia's list from a few days ago and he was trying out mid/late game cards that provide value such as Bolvar, Vinecleaver, even DK Uther if I'm not mistaken.

posted a message on Why does it feel like Priests are better at being Rogues than Rogues are?

Because Rogue generates random cards while Priest discovers stuff in your deck. Rogue's mechanic is utter trash while Priest's is borderline broken.

Pirate Warrior has been weaker since Un'Goro and this expansion is no exception. Specially in the Standard format.

Everybody is excited and wants to try stuff out, so it makes sense ppl are playing unrefined control lists instead of PW.

However, it's very clear the deck keeps losing power. They didn't print a single card that's useful in the already optimized list, while other classes like Druid/Warlock got perfect tools to stop the aggression.

what the actual fuck are you talking about? Pirate warrior was tier 1 for whole ungoro, is tier 1 since MSoG and still strong and probably the best deck to climb.
I said it was weaker than the MSoG version, not that it wasn't tier1.
However, you're still wrong.  For quite some time during Un'Goro the deck was high tier 2/low tier1 in Standard. Golakka Crawler had a HUGE impact in that format.

In wild, it plays slightly different and it probably still is the top deck to beat, but my point is the same: not as strong as MSoG. The deck is so bad and simple, that it works because of the insane synergy but that's it. It has no more room for growth in wild, it's not a flexible deck at all so you can predict it turn by turn. Druid, Shaman, Warlock, Mage, Priest, and other Warriors can farm Pirate Warriors really easily if they decide too. To some extent, Paladin can do the same, although it's worse than the previous classes I mentioned. Only classes that have trouble 90% of the times with PW are Rogue and Hunter (this one not in Standard maybe).

There's no such thing as "best deck to climb", you have to put that within a context (your local meta) at a fixed point in time. There were seasons I was stuck at Rank1 with Pirate Warrior. Others I just couldn't get past 4-3. But sometimes I hit legend with it too without much struggle. So you can't say "X is the best deck to climb" without taking into account what season, server, rank and time of the season you're playing.

List is for standard format but it would be good to know if it also works in wild.

posted a message on Any Tips on Arena ?

Arena is quite different from constructed. You need to learn which classes are strong and which are weak, because meta is not the same in both modes. You also need to learn how to draft accordingly for that class. For example: some classes like rogue/paladin don't need many 2-mana drops, whereas hunter/priest you need to make sure you have a strong early game.

I suggest you look up some of the infinite arena players/pro arena streamers out there, and watch their replays and analize what's going on. See what their decision making is and why, and how that differs from what you would have chosen. I like to watch Shadybunny's youtube channel, it's a great resource. If anyone knows another player I'd be happy to hear.

posted a message on Dragon Priest in Wild

It's not worth it spending dust on a dragon priest deck right now, we don't know if it will still be good  with the new set. That said, you generally won't need any other big dragon than Ysera (and she's useless vs aggro), the deck plays like a fast-tempo deck and if it happens that you need a late game threat, you try to save Historeans to combo with Brann and fish for late game dragons.

Elise, Shadow Visions, Radiant Elemental, Lyra: While these cards are really good by themselves, they don't really fit DP that well, specially Lyra being the worst of them. But you could certainly make them work if you build your deck properly.

I've climbed with different homebrew dragon priests lists the past seasons and from my experience:

Radiant Elemental + Shadow Visions is good versus aggro because you have the potential to open with Elemental+PW:S but other than that, it doesn't really make that much of a difference. If you go for 1 copy of removal and AoE and 2x Shadow Visions, you will find it's really inconsistent, you often won't discover the card you need in that particular moment or you will end up losing a lot of tempo (SV into SV into the card you need for example). And that's most of the times game-losing. So I guess it really depends on playstyle and what opponents you run into, both including/excluding these cards could certainly work, you just have to try and see what works best for you.

Lyra is just terrible in wild dragon priest, there's no reason to run her because you already have a TON of value with Brann, Historeans and Drako5. You don't have many spells to combo with, and Azure Drake/Blackwing Corruptor is a much better 5 turn play. DP plays for tempo and not value (specially if it's randomly generated cards like Lyra does).

Elise is perfect if you play Reno Dragon and you're encountering many greedy decks like Reno Mage/Warlock, but other than that, same as Lyra there is no reason to run her, specially if you cut Shadow Visions.

posted a message on Do you like Standard Miracle Rogue?

This is pretty accurte insight. I'll add that a miracle list with Leeroy+Cold Blood+Eater of Secrets beats burn mage 90% of the times, you have to draw really bad to lose. Secret is harder, because their deck plays faster than burn and you will most likely die before you can attempt lethal, but it's still doable.

Personally, I really like the standard miracle rogue version. It feels less all-in than wild and more versatile. In wild, aggro and midrange decks are even faster than in standard, but you have tools like Conceal, Loatheb, and the already mentioned Pillagers/Drakes which improves the control matchups by a lot.
