I've only faced three druids in ~100 matches so far, one egg and two quest. I've yet to see Barnabus played. Blizzard completely screwed Druid this rotation. Their quest is so much worse than rogue in every way (worse rewards much later at a higher cost)
Elemental Priest and Deathrattle Priest are both doing fine in standard for various reasons. EP is actually super fun as well, and surprisingly strong.
Priest is fine, and I have fun playing it, more than any other time, especially the quest, its not easy to accomplish always, but good.
In wild, its crazy, so far, I am sitting at little over 70% winrate, in 40+ games. In standard, well its fun, and not extraordinarily good or bad against anything, thats why it doesn't draw much attention. Also because quest rogue is disadvantageous, and it sees so much play.
I'm working on a decklist for quest, I've had awesome games against other priests, espically some elemental priest lists, and other quets. I did not do particularly well, but it was whole lot of fun.
Reach rank 4 today and don't see one priest in more than 40 games...
Its probably because all the heads of face player exploding from not being able to pirate their way by turn four and would rather die than play purify priest or divine spirit combo priest
Things are a little better in that the top class is not as dominant, but also a little worse in that there are now four noncompetitive classes instead of just 3.
No. Just no. I have tried so far OTK Priest,Elemental Priet and even mine Dragon Standart Priest. All these decks are doing pretty good. I dont know what you are talking about.
Priest is definitely not dead, it is waiting for the meta to figure itself and then arise. The class has a lot of potential variants with this expansion: Silence, Spell Control, Midrange with Dragon/Elemental deck, and people are testing for the best built right now. Also, Priest decks take longer time to refine because traditionally, Priest has to adapt to the meta whether it is slower or faster.
Priest will not be bad, it is a tricky class to play unless it is provided another curved dragon deck. It won't remain in the most popular classes.
IMO, Mage/Rogue/Hunter/Warriors will be the top dogs of the meta, while Druid/Priest/Paladin/Warlock/Shaman keep them in check here and there. It doesn't seem that we have any terribly unplayable class with this expansion, which is a great sign.
Wondering what your rank is to claim that priest is good? I am currently rank 9 and have a hard time climbing against other decks When the opponent knows what deck you are using it's extremely easy for them to counter Priest. On the other hand Priest cant do anything without the combo cards in hand.
Just because it isn't the flavor of the week doesn't mean it's not viable.
SchruteBucks, why must you always steal the point I was going to make?
Though I will add that another factor in the equation is this: In a stunning reversal, many Priest decks are now far more skill-intensive than Quest Rogue, which tends to run on autopilot once you know which cards are best to bounce in various matchups.

Priest is so dead that I just cruised from rank 3 to legend with it in like 2 hours. Bad players always come up with excuses to make themselves feel better about playing toxic decks.

Lyra the Sunshard might be the best (non quest) class legendary of Un'Goro, possibly better than Sherazin, Corpse Flower. The only other I can think that might be better is Kalimos, Primal Lord, but I think Lyra is a bit more flexible, in that it gives value in pretty much any Priest deck, whereas Kalimos is good just in Elemental Shaman.

"Dead again" ? what are you talking about? priest wasnt dead the last season? actually was tier 1. I really dont know why people always whine bout priest being an underpowered class. You are missing the facts here son

The OP was probably in response to the post-Whispers and post-Karazhan meta, where Priest saw both the lowest winrate and playrate of all nine classes. Moreover, Priest wasn't even close to tier 1 last expansion. Bottom of tier 2 at the very best.
With regards to OP, the reason you don't see Priest is because the class isn't very straightforward to play. Because your minions are so defensively statlined, being able to squeeze every single point of damage takes a bit more thought than just playing minions on curve, unlike the Dragon Priest variants of meta past.
With the exception of Rogue, Mage, and Quest Warrior, Priest actually has quite even matchups across the board if the matchup is played right. The prevalence of 1-health minions in Hunter and in other aggressive decks have allowed Northshire Cleric to rise out of obscurity into a pseudo-threat. While you will experience games where aggro Druid overwhelms you on board, or you get nut-drawn by Pirate Warrior, but those will happen with almost every other class.

Definitely not there are few good priest decks like silence priest that are fairly balanced and still overall pretty good.

Here's a comparison of what I've experienced in my last 100 games rank 1-5 compared to the last pre-Ungoro meta snapshot
Me Now:
Warrior: 22%
Hunter: 20%
Rogue: 16%
Priest: 12%
Shaman: 12%
Warlock: 6%
Mage: 5%
Druid: 4%
Paladin: 3%
Pre-Ungoro:
Warrior: 27%
Shaman: 19%
Druid: 13%
Priest: 12%
Warlock: 12%
Rogue: 11%
Mage: 4%
Paladin: 2%
Hunter: 1%

I think that every class is viable right now, but certain classes are more popular.

Priest was never dead - only a pleb would say something like that.
