posted a message on Venture into the Wild is this Week's Tavern Brawl!

this game has really lost my interest in the past several months. And even this brawl is pretty boring. Tried Warlock 4 times and got stomped each time by a Mage, Rogue, Paladin (twice). Finally did it with paladin myself.

I'm now on a "log-in once every three days and clear the quests" relationship with this game. Hopefully that changes with the next expansion and cycling of sets.

posted a message on NERFS - Will you De those cards?

i like collecting, so I'll only dust duplicates. Interestingly enough, I have 7 Bonemares and 4 Corridor Creepers right now, so the extras will get dusted. I still think both Bonemare and Corridor Creeper could see play in the right decks, so I won't DE them.

I'm tempted to DE Patches because I'm sick of him and how he made me put Golakka Crawlers in all my decks for 2017, but he still might be decent in Wild and I want to always have access to the best decks there, so I'll keep him. Same with Raza.

posted a message on Which deck to focus on building post-nerf? (F2p standard)

still didn't say what your goals are with Hearthstone...do you want to reach rank 5 every month? Do you want to play a fun deck? Accumulate Gold/Cards as fast as possible?

But, at this point, have patience and wait until a week after the nerfs, or better yet, wait until after the next expansion, as that could seriously shake things up. Then, just examine the meta and craft what is best.

posted a message on If Corridor Creeper had been nerfed to 3/5 instead of 2/5 would it still see play?

I think we could still see Corridor Creeper in some decks, probably in Dragon Priest. Here is why...You could have a minion heavy Dragon Priest so you get the discount pretty early. Then you've got cards to affect the attack (Cobalt Scalebane, Twilight Acolyte, Inner Fire), so you could do a 2-card combo once Corridor Creeper is down to 0 or 1 mana, and then still buff it up to a 3/5 (Twilight Acolyte) or a 5/5 (Cobalt Scalebane if that's the only other card on the board, or Inner Fire)

I could also see it in Evolve Shaman (which will probably come back strong due to the nerfs, although we are losing Evolve, but we got Unstable Evolution which will just require a little bit different set-up and play).

And I could see it used in some Paladin deck since they also have ways of boosting attack cheaply.

Furthermore, maybe they already have a card that will help support Corridor Creeper in the next set. To say it's unplayable is pretty short-sighted right now.

posted a message on Which deck to focus on building post-nerf? (F2p standard)

really just depends on what you would enjoy playing more. They each offer a slightly different playstyle, although both of them aim for the long game. And we still don't know if any cards will be moved into the Hall of Fame, which might affect Cubelock (if they go with Doomguard) or Exodia (if they somehow go with Sorcerer's Apprentice, but that is quite a bit more unlikely than Doomguard).

And what are you goals with the deck? Do you want to hit rank 5? Legend? It's tough to know how either deck will perform post-nerf, since we may see some other decks dominate (I think Face Hunter will come back strong, and possibly Murloc Paladin since Call to Arms wasn't touched). I'd say you best bet is to wait a week until after the nerfs have happened and see what decks are shaping up to be top tier. Then craft one of those, or craft the deck you just want to play.

And be careful about disenchanting "bad" legendaries. Which ones are they? Who knows if they will be good in the next year or two.

posted a message on Patches the Pirate Loses Charge - Four Card Nerfs Coming in February

Haven't gone through all the comments so I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but the Bonemare change is also a slight nerf to Spiteful Summoner, as it will now be another choice for 8 mana. Granted it just changes the percentages of getting a good outcome very slightly, but it's still something.

excellent change, as this also is a nerf to spiteful summoning.

This is now another 8 mana card that could be summoned (and it is pretty bad for 8 mana, since it has such a big battlecry and mediocre stats for 8 mana).

Nice. I have 5 extra Bonemare's and 2 extra Corridor creepers. I'm a collector so I won't dust Raza or Patches, but an extra 1000 dust sounds quite nice!

Although I still do have an extra Voidlord and 3 extra Possessed Lackey's....

posted a message on Marsh Queen revisited, thoughts?

I've always wanted to make this quest work, but I agree you will need a few more 1-cost minions. This type of deck should be more midrange, as you are not going to survive against Cubelock or Raza Priest in the long game. I like your idea of a few more spells to deal with agro though.

I'd also drop the multi-shots, as your first 4 turns really should be about maintaining minions on board to avoid getting stomped by agro. I guess you do have explosive traps, but that's useless once minions get over 2 health (most agro decks can easily do that or already have minions with more than 2 health). So I'd drop both explosive traps for Wandering Monsters, or maybe one of each to see which one performs better.

I'd recommend 2 Raptor Hatchling as they are a one drop that gives you another one drop, which can then be pulled by Tol'vir.

I'd probably also lose a stampede, a candleshot and the starving buzzard. Instead put in 2 alleycats (since their deaths will synergize with Corridor Creeper) and the Death Knight (for helping in the longer game as well as a decent stall mechanic). Then your card draw engines are either the Marsh Queen (once she gives you all the raptors) or the Death Knight (and you can craft cards to sustain yourself).

And I'm curious, so I'll actually try out my own recommendations and see how this does. I'm currently rank 14 (had no desire to rank up this month and played arena almost exclusively except to complete some quests), so I'll see how my build does and report back.

posted a message on Freeze Shaman?
    Quote from Stormbringer36 >>

I actually like the idea of Freeze Shaman, but I hate the direction they were going with it. Moorabi and Cryostasis are trash, but the other Freeze cards would be decent if we had a few strong synergy cards to go with them.

Why so much hate for Cryostasis? It's actually pretty great to use it on any 0-health minion since they immediately unfreeze at the end of your turn. So, turn one would be Shieldbearer or Wax Elemental and turn 2 is Cryostatis (since very few classes can kill either of those on turn 1 or with the coin. The best defense against it is Devolve after you have played Cryostatis. Then, on turn 2, you either have a 3/5 taunt (possibly with Divine Shield) or a 3/7 taunt (or maybe 3/6, 3/5, or 3/4). Sure, it can still be dealt with, but the high health on turn 2 still makes it stick.
It really is more of a defensive card, since you do freeze the minion, but the gain in stats is hard to beat for the mana cost.

posted a message on To craft cubes or wait...?

i agree. there is a chance it gets nerfed (although unlikely) but the fact that it is neutral lends to some really interesting deck building in most classes. I've used them successfully in paladin, hunter, priest, and warlock so far.

posted a message on Is it time for each class to have a new identity?

Hunter did get a new archetype in the "spell-only" build. What other class has ever run a deck with no minions and still does well on the ladder? Even mage hasn't ever been able to do that (at least not competitively). Yet, the current Spell Hunter deck can get to rank 5 in the current meta. If that isn't a new archetype for Hunter when they would generally just play minions and then buff them with other minions, I don't know what is.

Also, we already had Finley which changed hero powers and that still didn't encourage a Control Hunter. It's not really hunter's hero power that makes Control unattainable. It's the double lack of card draw and healing. If hunter got a spellstone like Warlock's and also a spell like Dark Pact, I think that would go a long way towards a Control Hunter build, although there are still card draw problems as well. But it seems like we are getting closer to a Control Hunter build, so maybe in the next expansion/rotation...

posted a message on GOLDEN HERO.. And beyond?!

considering I have 16000 wins and am over 2K wins with many classes, yes, yes yes! Even better if they reward packs or dust, but I'd be fine with cosmetic changes (like hero skins, hero portraits, etc).

Or maybe if you get to 2000 wins with a class, whenever you play that class, your deck is turned Golden for the game (cards revert back to their normal status after the game). Could be a cool feature (although possibly difficult to implement).
