i miss Khadgar and Kalegcos from my collection, but i really like them so i was wondering if it is safe to craft them in order to make a deck like dragon mage or khadgar mage that you see around now in standard.
Does anyone have tried them? Are they powerful enough to justify the creation of a deck around them?
Khadgar definitely, that card is so awesome and makes for loads of interesting, powerful effects. Khadgar plus conjures calling on a giant is insane. Theres only 2 12 mana minions in the game so you're guaranteed giants or grave horrors.
Kalecgos I dont think is worth it right now. It's great when you get to play it but out of the two Khadgar is far more versatile and playable. I dont even play Kelecgos in my mage decks as it's too slow most of the time.
Khadgar is definitely good if you want to run a Mage right now. The synergies with your other summoning cards are worth it. Kalecgos, on the other hand, is too slow by far to be truly useful at the moment. It's a fun card, and can be useful in certain situations, but I wouldn't craft it unless you've just got the dust to spare.
I have Khadgar but I haven't really experimented with him yet, so I can't speak as to viability from a personal perspective.
In terms of Kalecgos however, he was a day 1 craft for me and 100% worth it. Granted I only play wild and he's been an amazing card for me in the format. ^^

Khadgar is both viable and competitive for sure, he was a day one craft for me. Kalecgos was my free Legendary form the set and he's pretty cool, although I haven't been able to play him much.
Khadgar is a must craft for any Mage Player. He is the Win Condition in most Mage Decks and will be for a while.
Kalecgos is pretty cool, but not as strong as Khadgar. But getting a Flamestrike or Blizzard against Aggro and playing it in the same turn is pretty good. Most of the times, when you play Flamestrike, you can't have something valuable on the board, therefore you fall behind again on the following turn. Kalecgos helps with his 4/12 Body. Or using Conjurer Calling and getting two other 10 mana minions can save games as well.
So tldr: Khadgar Win Condition. Kalecgos can/turn save games.
As people said. Khadgar is very powerful and in all summoning decks. Kalecgos is often a win more card and expensive. He can win games but is not needed. He is just beutiful. If you play dragon mage he fits well otherwise not needed.
Are they powerful enough to justify the creation of a deck around them?
Depends what you mean by powerful enough... Winrates are reasonably good but not exceptional...
i mean, do you think a deck with them could be viable and competitive? is it dust well spent?
Yes. Khadgar is very good in hand/summon mage. U can climb with him. Kalecgos as mentioned above superslow. I have the dragon but dont have so much good experience. Yeah yeah its good but too conditional when u play a greedy deck. Like spend all your mana to summon and what if u have just shitty or greedy spells from discover or hand.
Also about the Khadgar, it might be controversial, but I'm actually liking Archmage Arugal over him. The former allows for stronger swing turns yes, but I don't run Power of Creation, so his uses are limited. Arugal is always a threat because the deck runs mostly minions, and getting additional value against Control decks is nice.

i dont have them, but im pretty sure that both of them are worth.
I will craft both if i have enough dust :)
There is a Big mage summoner deck that where Khadgar works very well. I also run Kalcegos in the same deck and he has won me a couple of games.
Khadgar definitely, that card is so awesome and makes for loads of interesting, powerful effects. Khadgar plus conjures calling on a giant is insane. Theres only 2 12 mana minions in the game so you're guaranteed giants or grave horrors.

4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔

I've never really seen someone play Kalecgos and it helped them. Khadgar, yes. Depends on whether you like that mage conjuring deck or not.
I would go for Khadgar. Kalecgos seems really really slow and not so strong... nothing that justfies 1.6k of dust. At least, not atm.
Make Rexxar great again!

Khadgar is more better now
Kalecgos has been replaced by Alexstrasza in most builds.

I have both, Khadgar seems strong but boring. I suggest Kalegcos only If you play kazakus/cabalist tome cards. Feels good to get it from barnes.
Interesting choice, why not run both?
You could run both, someone used it in the HCT World Championship.
