One upside to having your minions stolen by a Priest using Lazul's Scheme + Cabal Shadow Priest is that at least the stolen minion's attack will stay low until the next turn, making it easier to kill with your other minions.
you downrated my comment!? i thought i was being funny! :( RIP ill just go cry myself to sleep goodbye cruel world
HOW TO MECH HUNT!!
Oblivitron into Skaterbot gives it rush hit a (5) attack minion on board (7mana used)
Mecha'thun is now on the board, playGoblin Prank for 2 mana and GG
combo can be done turn 9 but it requires opponent has a 5 attack minion
combo requires 4 cards Oblivitron, Skaterbot, Goblin Prank Mecha'thun
2 of those cards are killed by Hemet. Jungle Hunter so must be drawn first best to include 2 of each.
Tracking X2 +Flare X2would be a must and make all cards in your deck 3mana or less which is easy for hunter who has great 1/2/3 drops.
you only have Hemet. Jungle Hunter, Oblivitron, Mecha'thun as cards above 3 mana.
including 2x Witchwood Piper perhaps to try and draw a skaterbot or hemet.
Tracking is a terrible inclusion in a combo deck. What happens when your choice of three involves both mechathun and oblivitron?
I concede
Oblivitron has big potential in N'Zoth, the Corruptor + Reno Jackson wild decks, people already play Sneed's Old Shredder in those decks.
Also it implies that we will get more deathrattle mechs in standard for Hunter. I really like deathrattle hunter decks, and I would like to get a deck without eggs.
yes more mechs .. maybe some good ones nxt exp since this is a 3 parter
No more Houndmaster Shaw would be a nice combo :-(
he's not going away
Oblivitron + Sneed's Old Shredder= HELL YEAH
Oh Yeah!
* pulls Duskfallen Aviana *
Oh No!
I don't think Oblivitron will be as understatted and "bad" as it is now after rotation. Witchwood and especially the last two expansions have tuned down the power levels a lot and haven't had overstatted minions like we're used to from Mammoth. So something extremely understatted like this that has a potentially powerful effect should be a lot more playable. It's important that they be understatted. Otherwise they would just be auto-includes. This way you get the powerful effect and can maximize it by building around the card, but you sacrifice stats. That just hasn't been a viable strategy up to now because you could get powerful effects without sacrificing stats, hence a lot of Raven cards not seeing play.
Now we finally get the payoff. We get to have powerful buildaround cards that aren't OP due to being understatted, which will lead to more variety and parity since decks will have to be more hyperfocused on maximizing buildarounds that are weak on their own.
Due to crazy Mammoth cards f*cking off Raven buildarounds like these may start to see a lot more play:
Lady in White, Tess Greymane, Glinda Crowskin, Dollmaster Dorian, Gloop Sprayer, Boommaster Flark, Zerek, Treespeaker, Spirit of the Lynx, Hex Lord Malacrass, Immortal Prelate, Bwonsamdi, Talanji, Captain Hooktusk, Krag'wa, Hir'eek, War Master Voone, Akali, Untamed Beastmaster, Da Undatakah, Hakkar
Lady in White will never be a good card unless a viable tutor for it is created. Witchwood Piper is the closest thing you have right now and with her costing 6 you miss out on any hope of early game for a chance of being able to play a single stupid big minion out afterwards. I'd say that she would still be a trash tier card even if Madame Lazul gives us a 2 mana 1/5 minion with Battlecry: Draw a 6 cost Legendary minion from your deck.
War Master Voone is also one that will still be bad. At best it's a win-more card that could be used to copy Twilight Drakes or Emberscale Drakes on curve. Even then his statline is bad and he dies to many 2 drops. He may move up to tier 4 though.
I'm not a fan of big value minions like Zerek, Master Cloner or Hir'eek the Bat that are vulnerable to mass removal like Brawl or Twisting Nether. They might get a little better but that's only because they are absolutely worthless right now. Princess Talanji and Gloop Sprayer fit in here too but at least they can be used to bring out deathrattle minions for added stickiness.
Spirit of the Lynx doesn't even fit into the big value category as its value is pretty low. Untamed Beastmaster is much better in the value and could possibly see more use. The problem with both cards is that Master's Call exists and neither of these cards are beasts.
Of all the big value cards you have listed, Boommaster Flark and Treespeaker have the best chance of affecting the meta. Unfortunately for both cards they require a bunch of less useful cards to make it work. Flark needs cards like Fireworks Tech and magnetics, and Treespeaker suffers because pretty much all of the treant cards are slow especially after ramp nerfs.
Hakkar, the Soulflayer is getting about as much use as he will likely get right now. Post rotation, he won't have King Togwaggle (or to a lesser extent Explore Un'Goro) to work with anymore. Prince Liam still being around won't help much. The problem is that no one but OTK decks really have any use for him.
Hey I appreciate your detailed feedback. And thanks for linking most of the cards! I get your criticisms about all these cards but my first question for you is: In what meta? I know it's impossible to predict what the standard meta will look like after rotation (though we can make a few predictions, like Midrange Hunter will be Tier 1) but it won't look anything like the current one. I think you may be underestimating how far the power levels are going to drop.
I'm not saying Lady in White will be good, but we may find that the meta allows for a 6/5/5 that casts Inner Fire on your deck. We may be able to get away with a slightly understatted do nothing card that improves your late game. We don't know. When the late game arrives you won't be dealing with infinite value besides Hagatha, and there will likely be fewer OTK decks. (If only she activated Zerek!)
War Master Voone: if he generates two playable late game dragons for you he did something. He's card generation with a bonus body. Again...that may be enough to make him playable in post-Mammoth control matchups. If Dragon Warrior is viable.
Big value minions are really vulnerable to removal. I hear you and that's kept me away from building around big minion swing turns too. Removal like Nether and Brawl and Mass Hysteria and.....Walk the Plank? Demonbolt? Shrink Ray? Warpath? Godfrey? That's all that's left after rotation besides Hunter's Mark, Deadly Shot, Equality+?, Shield Slam, Polymorph, SW: Death, Mind Control, Sap, Vanish, Hex, and Siphon Soul.....plus whatever comes in the expansion. No Psychic Scream, Anduin, Dragon's Fury, Meteor, Tarim, Vilespine, Volcano, Defile, Amethyst Spellstone, Reckless Flurry, Crushing Walls (Zul'jin), or Naturalize. So removal is still there but there will be a lot less and the best ones will be gone. That, along with infinite value going to Wild, creates some space for value strategies involving cards like Talanji, Gloop Sprayer, and Hir'eek.
I mentioned Spirit of the Lynx because it's a buildaround to some extent, but you're right, it can't go into Midrange Hunter with Master's Call so there may not be a place for it.
I see Untamed Beastmaster fitting into Big Beast Druid. We'll see if that's a thing.
Boommaster Flark and Treespeaker are both getting support. We'll see if it's enough.
I see Hakkar and Undatakah as cards that apply so broadly and are so flexible that they may see a lot more play in a meta with breathing room. If they're not squeezed out by oppressive cards they'll just naturally slide into some decks. IF such breathing room exists...Hakkar is going to be attractive to any deck that can win the fatigue game. Undatakah tempting to put into any deathrattle deck. Rogue could play Hakkar after filling her deck with 20+ cards when the opponent is going into fatigue. Paladin's got Prince Liam.
We Shall See....
Topsy Turvy, Crazed Alchemist.
Those are single target not board wide which was the point of comparison
but why do you need it to effect the entire board?
I hope the meta will change. rank 15 wild - 10 games. 2\10 mill rogue 4/10 big priest.
It's a deathrattle effect. Assuming that was the last minion then your board is empty.
if mecha'thun dies yes but if you just trigger its deathrattle he is still on board
