You've given him Goblin Prank after he's summoned at no cost... He automatically dies at end of turn.
You're attaching Skaterbot (1 mana) to Oblivitron (6 mana) giving him rush into an opponent minion with more than 4 attack, killing the 4/5 Oblivitron. That summons Mecha'Thun, to whom you play Goblin Prank (3 mana) which kills him at end of turn
So, the initial trigger of the deathrattle won't do anything, but it will when he dies at end of turn.
The thing that makes this deck unviable, is the terrible draw for Hunter. If they don't add some this expansion, good luck surviving 20 turns to get your deck out.
Agreed - maybe even better as you could reduce the attack below 2 for stealing e.g. Tundra Rhino buffed up by Timber Wolf. We'll see how it works :)
One thing to keep in mind with Oblivitron: "sticky" mech minions with magnetize still a current standard mechanic make the card a teeny strong. Heck, it make plays like summoning a spiderbomb from ya hand and triggering it's deathrattle to remove a problematic minion feel really good as a tempo play. Whether or not this card will be consistent is something time will tell. Can't wait to toy with the card.
A bit shame Void Ripper will be rotated out. Lazul's Scheme could be very good like the old school Pint-Size Potion + Shadow Word: Horror
1.) Oblivitron can actually be pretty good card. it could start a swing turn for a pretty good tempo/control deck with Fireworks Tech to Oblivitron in to ether Mechanical Whelp or Spider Bomb and then Fireworks Tech ether Mechanical Whelp or Spider Bomb
2.) though the Mecha'thun deathrattle does not work. if the opponent lets Oblivitron live then you could Hunter's Mark into Arcane Shot with a empty hand and deck and those two being your last card and win the game
3.) It doesn't have to be a deathrattle it could be a card like Damaged Stegotron or Bull Dozer or something thats good to cheat out
I really do like the new hunter card because as a hunter main and liking to play a control deck maybe this expansion can be the one with out a face hunter in tier one or two (also a fun hunter deck to play is a dragon hunter ;) )
For Number 2:
Guess what happens when Mech'Thun is alive when its deathrattle goes off...
(Spoilers: Nothing)
Yes I do agree with you if the opponent kills Oblivitron and Mecha'thun comes out and they kill it, but that does have many factors
1.) do they want to risk giving you a Mechanical Whelp and the 7/7 for free
2.) if they do kill Oblivitron can they even kill Mecha'thun or silence it
3.) depending on your rank people might have forgotten or not realize that you have a "Mecha'thun Hunter" a deck that has not really seen to much play
Hopefully we get some new mechs in Hunter and Neutral.

They already announced they will be taking a break from hero cards.
They said there will be no hero cards this time
when you do not expect anything blizzard but you still get disappointed :(
I do not get it why you all keep saying how HS is bad. you don't like the game? stop visiting hearthpwn and crying about how bad it is. it's a free game and they still making 3 new expansions every year. you don't have to buy it. they are regular people and they need money too. you don't want to buy the pre-purchase packs - ok! don't buy it and shut up.
I'm already disappointed at your comment before I even expect anything from you.
lol
Spiritsinger Umbra than this and Spider Bomb in hand= this, Spiritsinger Umbra, Spider Bomb and kill too random enemies. cost ten mana.
Wild only combo. Umbra rotates
Maybe somehow this can allow a MechAThun Hunter...
But if you summon Mecha'thun with this your side of the board isn't empty.
