Only super useful and fun when you have a full hand or some draw cards in it already otherwise you end up wasting a bunch of mana.

I use one in a Pirate Deck for if I lost momentum, don't like the matchup, or just drew a bad hand.

It makes for some interesting games with both a lot of randomness and a lot of strategy.

The best use of this card seems to be as a plan B for early aggro decks.

All that said, the cards it discovers should probably cost (1) or (2) less to compensate for everything.

You can combo this with Hemet to fatigue yourself. Quite possibly the best troll deck out there.

Paying 1 mana to choose the best card for a given board state rather than getting a random one out of your deck is not a bad trade off. You're really undervaluing the discover mechanic.

PSA: despite the name, you can discover cards outside of Un'goro. In fact, the majority of the cards that I saw in the two games I played this card were from the classical set

Absolutely. I was stoked to play this until I found out that it doesn't work like that.

I usually like meaningless meme decks, but this card makes me sad.

I was very excited before release. Crafted 2 golden copies, but after some tests i wanna say: its trash. Renounce is best card in game if you compare it with this shit. 

You cant use it like golden monkey on fatigue wars. When you have both copies in hand, second do nothing. And finaly, at most time you would see the typical arena draft :D

I love Warrior, I love Gimmicks..  It seems every expansion there's a funky Warrior card that can be used in a meme deck, but this one is pretty bad.  If the card said "Discover a card, reduce its cost by (1)" it would be playable for fun but not competitive.  You can choose the card you need in the situation, sure, but you're adding 1 cost to that card, and more often than not when you really need a Brawl or Grommash or Shield Block, you're going to get one of the other 50%+ cards you'd normally deem unplayable like Commanding Shout, Blood Warriors, or Fool's Bane.

For this card to be competitive, it'd have to work the same as Unstable Portal, and reduce the cost by 2.  You need to draw the thing, first of all, then you preferably want an Auctioneer in hand too, so you don't run out of steam..and then you just lose to a myriad of competitive decks.  It's extremely bad in its current form, and it'd only be good for laughs if it were reducing your choice by 1 mana.  Fun card, try it out in casual or the innkeeper if you get it, but it's just really bad.

This card isn't terrible - It's like a Miniature Golden Monkey, but your cards can be worse but you have the freedom of choice.  I tried to fit it in with my Control Warrior deck:
