Slide in two Shade of Naxxramas. Try to sneak in as well a Flametongue Totem.

    Other interesting cards are Bloodlust

You need to make use of your foe's strengths in order to build your deck. I tried a combo shaman with giants (molten, sea giant) which were much cheaper to drop when your opponent has a lot of minions/you are low of health. There Healing Wave gets its value (instead of the refreshment vendor or the healbot, i.e.)

With this deck I managed to pull up to 74 dmg in a single turn, vs. a control warrior:

Yeah... sometimes it happens and sucks, I know. I almost always keep it in hand when I mulligan if I get it in the initial set of cards. I hope your luck improves and you can enjoy the deck.

Sneed's is good for the deathrattle mechanic, but it can be replaced by any other big minion, like Dr. Boom, Ysera, Ragnaros the Firelord. If you want to keep the synergy you can try Toshley or Cairne Bloodhoof. Unfortunately, Sylvanas Windrunner is extremely difficult to replace because of its unique ability. You can try with Toshley as mentioned above or Emperor Thaurissan.

Me encanta el deck, en cuanto tenga tiempo me pongo a probarlo +1.

What impress me the most is the fact that you drove it up to rank 3 in this f#ck'd up meta since i dont have the guts/time to push over rank 5 with my experiments nowadays.

Es muy, muy divertido de jugar, me alegro de que te guste :)
To be honest, I switched between this deck, my midrange paladin and my tempo mage up to rank 5. From there on, I realized I would not have the time/will to go for legend again this season so I started doing some modifications to the deck until I got it in its current form.

You think so? I always found Deathwing a risky option. It can get some value out of the Deathrattle mechanics, but Sneed is still two bodies, and can work nicely with Reincarnate, Ancestral Spirit or Baron Rivendare.

posted a message on Yes, you can -> Meta breaking win streak with RDS (Reno Deathrattle Shaman)

    Hi all again.

Last season I got as far as rank 3 with a control shaman deck. With not too much time to play beginning of this season, I modified the deck and am currently in a win streak 10-1 with this same deck, slightly modified to counter the meta.

The deck is a control shaman. WTF? Yes, it works. Player skill is key, which is something I missed lately. The deck is funny as hell, every match is different and victories are very rewarding.

The basic idea is: I loved control and midrange shaman decks, what's their main problem? You normally die before you can unleash all your power. Okey, let's slide Reno in. That's great against spell-heavy decks, yet against zoo you still have to get rid of your enemy's minions. Good, let's put an elemental destruction and lightning bolt in. Oh, elemental destruction kills your own guys. Not good. How can I make it less painful? Let's use your own minion death in your advantage: deathrattle mechanics! Wait, shaman has two great spells that abuse deathrattle mechanics: ancestral spirit and reincarnate, so let's use them too.

Against control decks, sometimes that's not enough. Their minions are too big to be cleared by AoE. So you also need some hard removal: Hex is perfect. Being Reno, you can only rely on having one Hex, so let's add a BGH to the mix. And of course an Earth Shock for nullifying Sylvanas or buffed guys.

With such a deck, it's essential that you can cycle through it fast. So you need to draw. Loot Hoarder is cool for that: it's a body to remove for an aggro deck, as well as giving you an extra card. Mana Tide totem is great when played in an empty board: forces your enemy to use a silence or a direct damage spell on it, at the risk of letting you draw indefinitely if they don't. Last, slide in a Jeweled Scarab to get that extra 2nd copy of the card you so heavily need: Removal? Pick another BGH or Hex. AoE? Pick another Lightning storm or Elemental Destruction. Healing? Good! there is your second Healing Wave.

Okey, now we have a consistent deck that can hold on aggro and heal back, clean their board, and remove big guys from control decks. What do we need next? Of course, a victory condition. Main one is BL. You are running a Deathrattle deck and your hero power pops totems, so hopefully there are always minions on your side of the board. Feugen and Stalagg are good by their own, and they can pop one/two Thaddius (with the help of Baron Rivendare, Reincarnates, and of course Elemental Destruction). And in case you fear your enemy clears your board, let's add a Kel'Thuzad to the mix (unvaluable when played alongside Reincarnate).

So here is the deck, as well as some videos to illustrate gameplay.

posted a message on How does this Control Shaman deck look? (Reno)

Hi there. Reno Shaman is a very interesting and powerful deck, as Shaman has always in the past been the king of heavy control decks. Said that, I had a look at your deck and, from my own experience (I'm playing a Reno Shaman myself), there is a lot of room for improvement. I will start by what I like:

-Doomhammer. You can clear board and your face damage will be hopefully healed later on. Helps your minions stick. It's also an additional finisher.
-Big Game Hunter,Rockbiter Weapon,Hex andEarth Shock. Efficient removals.
    -Lightning Storm, classical shaman AoE.
-Sludge Belcher, you need some defense out there.
-Al'Akir the Windlord as second win condition, after Doomhammer.

Problems of this deck. Well, one should not forget the main idea of a Reno deck is keeping your hp high to not die against aggro, while developing your game vs. control.Elemental Destruction destroys your opponent's board, but also yours. It's not helpful to overload yourself and having no minions on your side of the board at the same time. You have to use it to re-gain the upper hand in the match.

Your minions are fragile to Elemental Destruction, except forEarth Elemental,Dr. Boom andRagnaros the Firelord, and even those will suffer greatly from the 4-5 damage received. They will become easy targets for cheap removals (i.e.WrathQuick Shot, charging minions).

I miss card draw. Triableprism suggested taking outJeweled Scarab. Don't! Jeweled scarab can reveal for you several key cards:
    - A second Elemental Destruction or Lightning storm.
    - A second Hex.
    - A secondHealing Wave.
    - Even aPowermace orUnbound Elemental are quite nice to be discovered.

Triableprism suggested getting rid ofFlametongue Totem. Well, if you play the Haunted Creeper it's a very powerful removal tool, pairing it with your totems and the spiders. It also boosts' Al'akir as a finisher.

Antique Healbot is slightly redundant. It's fragile and heals you for 8 hp "only" (you already have healing wave and Reno).Bomb Lobber does not help against paladins and aggro, it's good vs control but most of the times not enough. I don't see a place for him.

Far Sightis not a bad choice at all, still (for example) I opted for a Loot Hoarder in my version, as it is still a body to remove for your opponent, and can be used with a rockbiter weapon or flametongue for some nice removal - sometimes he can also soak a silence.

Plus, the deck is heavily overloaded. Lava Shock is good, but you will never know when is the best moment to play it. Yeah, of course it is best used after Elemental Destruction, but it's not always the case. Crackle, Lightning Storm, Earth Elemental and Doomhammer will hurt your next turn as well and you will not have a fix for that.

From my experience, the best Reno Shaman is the one that plays cards like Elemental Destruction and overloads to its advantage - i.e. a Deathrattle mechanics deck. I will speak about that in a separate post to not move away from the topic, but still I find your deck will not be much rewarding: I expect mostly long matches which in the end will anyway result in defeat.

Even when I agree that those two cards have an outstanding value, what about replacing one Shielded Minibot by an Annoy-o-Tron?

I can see Thanatos in zoolike decks. In more control-lish decks you risk losing a key piece of your own deck.

The two-headed dragon is nice, but maybe being a 2/1 would be more fair according to Blizz's philosophy, I would say - more burst-oriented and less sticky.

As ThatFinn said, not all the advices are good. As MrMechanic mentions, overload is quite damaging.

From my experience with Shaman (golden shaman and legend, which is something), Feral Spirit is a card that normally does not work. I would maybe keep it in your current deck, as it can potentiate the trogg. But at least cut the second one.

Someone mentioned to remove the Healing Waves. Well, after playing shaman since the beta, I feel this is the best card that has ever been made for shaman. The amount of healing it provides is absurd, and that is what a shaman needs for developing its best: time!

I am missing a victory condition in the deck anyway, other than Ragnaros the Firelord that doesn't synergyze too well with the deck.

posted a message on Reno Jackson brings shaman back on the top ranks meta

Hi guys. After some time away from my favourite class (Shaman), it looks like the meta slowdown that Reno Jackson brings helps putting shaman back in scene.

I have been mostly playing Control Warrior this season. Now, I am facing many control decks using Reno that made me think about taking back my good'old Red Shaman deck. Reno by itself has no place in the deck (it may work with some changes, but still).

So, I just made some modifications to my S14 deck, being the main one the introduction of two Healing Wave. Midrange/control shaman is a class that relies on rather long matches, that allows it to unleash all its potential.

This deck has two victory conditions mainly: Al'Akir the Windlord comboed with Rockbiter Weapon/Flametongue Totem and Bloodlust. As usual in midrange shaman, I run plenty of sticky minions so that my opponent can never completely clear the board, and use intelligent trading to keep the pressure.

With most aggro decks out of the meta, the deck is performing extremely well, and has brought me up to rank 3 so far, but I am quite confident it is a legend deck. Neptulon is all of a sudden much more interesting thanks to Murloc Knight, plus it repopulates your hand in the late game.

Here is the deck, as well as a video with some gameplay for illustrative purposes. Any feedback is much appreciated!

So, this would me a nice secret for Shaman. It may delay your opponent a little bit and help improve your draw capabilities, which shaman normally lacks. Also, it is not overpowered. What do you think?

    Quote from Rhyolth >>

Why no Windspeaker ? If you play this guy on 4, his body can help you delay your opponent, while your Shade/Knight can wait patiently for another buff...

It could be an option, but running already 2xWindfury I did not really find a place for it. In any case, I have taken out some of the least useful cards: Far Sight which did not pay out as much as I thought, Forked Lightning as I realized it was underperforming for the 2 overloaded crystals, and Crackle which on the other hand is extremely good, but in order to have a clean finisher round I needed a Lava Shock.
