Nah, reactive trolling is more vicious and worse than proactive trolling. At the end of the day you can’t ‘not care’ but petition over and over again for it. This to me is a non issue that has potential to be a small issue if changed.
you're probably right.
I should have some kind of timer on my keyboard that prevents me from posting when I first wake up.
I will realize this was a really bad idea as soon as my meds kick in and swiftly ask a mod to erase it :D
I also could have worded that better. Unlike what other people here are saying it is ok to be tilted by having all your decks downvoted by a troll. You work hard on something, your proud enough and take the time to share it, and after a few downvotes no one sees it.
Its ok to care about that. I don’t think we should display who downvoted you but some sort of internal timer check like if someone downvoted a bunch of content should be flagged for a review.
I was thinking that negative downvotes must be accompanied by a comment or something? I mean people could just write anything, but then it could be deleted by mod if it's not productive.
It would cut back on people jut hitting dislike because they don't like you or want to milk the lul-cow or whatever.
Also when I said they should be "named" I meant only to the person who's deck it was. The only people that care about this are the ones that like to downvote things I reckon. I mean they'd just do it on an alt account anyway if they had any sense, but I think it requiring extra effort might put some people off.
it's because it's so simple to do, that people will always abuse it.
I hate it when I am all hyped up by some sort of deck I made, post it here, make a guide and immidiately get downvoted without that person giving any feedback. I make fun decks, no decks that guarantee a climb on ladder.
yeah dude, it sucks.
what sucks worst is that you know for a fact the deck is viable at the very least, and that any downvotes are actually unwarranted. This is what annoys me.
If my deck was trash then I'd understand, but I don't upload trash.
I can also understand being downvoted for low effort, but as I have stated multiple times, if the deck gets some likes I will add a story to it or something, I don't see how I'm getting downvoted on low effort neither.
You know like maybe if I worked on the guide and story first, I'd not have any of these issues at all. I don't know this to be true though, and most of the time I want to upload a deck for the date so I can prove when I made it to shut up people who claim you stole a deck or whatever. this is really important, and I think some people have downvoted my decks as I used to delete them and re-upload when my stuff was downvoted... if people think I'll delete proof of me being before them with a deck by having it downvoted then I can see a clear strategy here.
most of the time though it's either trolling, someone wants to knock your deck down so theirs takes over you, or just because they are jealous or don't ;like you, this comes under the branch of "haters"
I'm sorry but no one can use the excuse that my decks were bad, because they simply were not in the majority of cases.
this leaves downvotes based on whether a person enjoys something and whether they think it's fun. This is of course entirely subjective, and I think downvoting for subjective opinions should always be followed up by a comment... if you can't write your subjective feelings down, you don't have any business downvoting someone's deck based on them neither.. this is incredibly selfish.
I think the problem with this is that it would discourage downvoting. if try a deck, dont like it, and then dont leave a review, its because you dont want to. but then the deck creator will ask you why you dont like the deck, and what you would do to improve it. and if you dont want to leave a review then you also dont want to have someone ask you to leave a review.

I'm posting that last paragraph again as most people probably won't get that far. this is the most important part I think.
Downvoting someones deck over subjective opinions, should always be accompanied by a comment to explain this. I mean I would say that your subjective opinions have no place in a ratings system based on someone elses work anyway, but if you feel that you're important enough for your opinions to carry weight, then at least be able to put them into some kind of constructive critique as well.
I'd never dream of downvoting someones deck because it's "aggro" or whatever.

I see your point... not a "review" though dude, that's kinda straw man shaped if you ask me. :D
I said a few words. for example "don't like aggro" or "boring control, too slow" takes milliseconds, but would discourage people just spamming the dislike button.
well maybe not, but I had to think of something saying as this is my argument. ha ha.
thanks for getting involved anyway man. appreciated.
I get how it can be frustrating, especially to people who put solid hours worth of editing into their posts with full deck guides, pictures and etc.
Unfortunately, just got to roll with the punches I'm afraid. I share your plight but nothing we can do. :(

I don't know how to do all the fancy editing and stuff that people do now, but I try to make up for it with the creativity in my writing instead.
I think from now on I need to lean in fully and either have the guide ready to go, or add it pretty soon after upload and it will probably pay off.
I used to post if I got like 10 votes I'd write the guide, but in hindsight I think maybe this gives the wrong impression, and that the upvotes are all that I care about.
Really though I just wanted to give my decks a boost so I knew they'd be seen when I added the content to it. It's probably the wrong way to do it though. I must try a new approach.
I've looked through the votes for some of your recent decks and i don't see any indication of vote harassment. If you or anyone else has a concern about someone down-voting all your stuff just because, feel free to pm me and i can look into it. We definitely take vote manipulation seriously and would love to deal with anyone abusing the system, however it's not always the case and sometimes people just get legitimate down-votes as well which can feel bad for sure, but is not necessarily targeted harassment.
It's nice getting upvotes. Hell I'd be outright lying if I said I didn't get a minor kick from it and feel the pang of sadness when some don't get any notice despite the guide.
It's a hard thing to balance but after a few years I kind of learned not to care too much. It's just numbers at the end of the day. ^^

If you think someone is using multiple accounts to downvote you or you think someone is going through and downvoting all your content, you're always welcome to PM and ask it to be looked into but that's about the extent we'll go with it.
Don't let a few negative points hurt you though. Content creation online requires thick skin. If you let every single person get to you, you're gonna have a bad time. Just have fun with it and more importantly, have fun with the game.

you can only downvote in certain places mate. (comments on decks and stuff like that)
