The problem is that the issue can only be solved by yourself, for yourself.
Realistically, named voting won't be implemented. And trollvoters will keep doing it.
All you can do is changing your mind about your expectations, and/or come up with early presentations according to what are the expectations of the public (proof of high winrates, wacky comboes, screenshots, videos, rank achievements, captivating highlights, etc) and only LATER produce further content.
The harsh life of any content creators is that they must either act entirely for themselves or communicate according to the public.
Being able to see who downvoted something opens that person up to harassment from the person they downvoted. Yes, downvote systems can be abused, but if you think that they are you can either report the person you suspect or ask a moderator to look into comments or decks you believe are being targeted.
I'd also just clarify that this post can't be downvoted, so your fears are unfounded there. Only comments and decks can be downvoted - forum posts can only be upvoted.
Also, moved this to Site Feedback, since this isn't about Hearthstone.
thanks.
yeah I'm aware of the process as I've been through it at least 3 times now.
at one point last year (after my last post on this) some guys went through all my decks (seriously I have hundreds of them, thats dedication, ha ha) and downvoted all of them.
I got the downvotes removed, and the guys got banned, but I didn't feel good because of it. I don't want anyone to get banned, I just want the opportunity to confront them personally and find out why they feel they have to do this.
Trolling is something I have never understood, it's a form of bullying and bullying is for weak people that need to feel better about themselves, so they take it out on those they perceive to be weaker than them.
It's always the bully that turns out to be the weak one though, once someone bigger decides to pick on them.
thanks for your feedback anyway.
the post has served it's purpose though as it's opened a dialogue and I've been able to talk myself back down again.
Get where you're coming from OP but for every person who would use it to engage in conversation and get feedback etc, there would be 10 that would abuse it and abuse people who did down vote potentially causing a higher number of people to be driven away Its just a system that people can't be trusted to use, no matter how they do it.

yeah, you're right.
it's always been my problem. absolutely terrible poker face and a really bad temper.
it takes a lot to set me off, but once I'm in the red that's it really, I'm going to do stuff that embarrasses myself and I won't listen to anyone until I have it out of my system.
you see I'd rather deal with it here, than take that energy into my real life where some unsuspecting person takes the brunt of it. I've been in anger management since I was a child, I used to set things on fire and stuff... wasn't good at all.
so yeah, I'd much rather deal with it here than have it flood into my real life and get me into trouble.
ha ha, if only I could set fire to trolls... that would be ideal. :D

You could get rid of downvoting decks. There is no real point and it's counterproductive.
If your content has an alluring title, and an interesting highlights, upvotes will generally be more than downvotes.
Instead of trying to go on a crusade against the windmills, and instead of producing less content, you should try and produce it with a smarter presentations.
Not easy, but that's the only constructive way, other than caring less of the validation of whatever you do.
In case this is your first time on the internet, this type of whiny post will only bring you more trolling because it’s funny. Sorry for the harsh reality, but try to look within to find self-validation, and not let the opinions and actions of anonymous people affect your life. That will never end up well.
thanks though man. I appreciate your effort in trying to save me from myself.
I was hoping for that to sound constructive. Have you ever read up on the “inner critic?” I found it interesting and applicable to myself.
no, but I will now.
and yeah dude, it didn't come across as pedantic or anything. I took it as it was intended. and it is welcome.
I just need to be talked down most of the time when I get into this self destructive mode.
you ever seen that move in dark souls where you stab yourself to get the other guy? that's how I feel a lot of the time... "well it hurt you too, Mf'er" ha ha.
you shouldn't care whether you get downvoted in the first place, and care even less of who did it.
This sounds very thought-policey to me
LoL, "thought police".
no mate. it's simply wanting to hold people accountable for their actions. ("action" being the operative word, not "thought")
if it was thought policing they would be gulag'd up for simply appearing like I might not like them.... not such a bad idea really *leaves note to self*
and I've read 1984, 5 times now and own a newspeak dictionary, I am familiar with the term.

This was my initial stance. I did this with my two rogue decks last year that had over 50 upvotes. I often don't get to this stage though before I am discouraged. I know this is on me though, not anyone else.
I just get annoyed at anon downvotes with no comment attached. I'd actually welcome it if they took a minute to tell me why, but it's rarely ever the case.
Also I know this topic will warrant replies. I mostly just want to converse with people, and as my regular posts about decks never get replies any more, I have to play dirty and post something click baity like this.
I am invested though and it is something I care about, it's not entirely un-honest.
thanks again for your constructive replies though. I hope we can be friends. (I fpund all my HS friends this way actually. the ones that have constructive replies are usually the people i end up being friends with long term)
also jainashot is my friend from way back, I know a few people on here just through being here for so long. Jaina made me an animated banner once for cowboy beebop, great guy.

yes and no. I think downvoting comments on decks is a good idea as someone can leave bad advice or outright mislead people, and by these comments being downvoted it lets people know that it's bad advice.
it certainly has it's place and is useful.
another thing I thought is that if you downvote a deck, the system makes you leave a comment, too. it would discourage lazy downvoting and makw people at least have to think for second first before pressing the button.
ofc it's not perfect neither, but I do think that downvotes on decks being accompanied by a mandatory comment of no less than say 10 words would help.
Mate i think you solved your own problem already but you didn't just realize it yet.
You know the internet is paradise for bullies and trollers. Because its anonymous. But also that means they probably don't know you in real life and the other way around. Which means that you have no reason to care what they have to say/do. It don't matter. It doesn't change your life in any way.
You were talking about something about decklists. Good way to get upvotes is writing good guide for the deck. And if thats not enough you can make a post to the deck building forum. Say you like reno mage for example, tell people that you had blast with it and show the list and maybe ask some opinions about the deck and so forth.

I'm just another one of those. You know, those who do things. Things that need to be done by those that do these things in order to do those things that don't do these things by themselves. Has the word 'things' lost meaning to you already?

you say accountable for their actions like downvoting is even remotely a big deal. lawl grow a spine

Nah, reactive trolling is more vicious and worse than proactive trolling. At the end of the day you can’t ‘not care’ but petition over and over again for it. This to me is a non issue that has potential to be a small issue if changed.
you're probably right.
I should have some kind of timer on my keyboard that prevents me from posting when I first wake up.
I will realize this was a really bad idea as soon as my meds kick in and swiftly ask a mod to erase it :D
I also could have worded that better. Unlike what other people here are saying it is ok to be tilted by having all your decks downvoted by a troll. You work hard on something, your proud enough and take the time to share it, and after a few downvotes no one sees it.
Its ok to care about that. I don’t think we should display who downvoted you but some sort of internal timer check like if someone downvoted a bunch of content should be flagged for a review.
I hate it when I am all hyped up by some sort of deck I made, post it here, make a guide and immidiately get downvoted without that person giving any feedback. I make fun decks, no decks that guarantee a climb on ladder.
The problem is that the issue can only be solved by yourself, for yourself.

Was that suppossed to be offensive or something?

Maybe a stupid question, but whatever:
How can I downvote? To me it only appers the button "click to like this".
