It depends on the meta, generally hunters I seen nowadays go fast your talking about turn 8 or 9 malygod with the spell which does 6 damage and the other 8? Combos usually take time to keep. Hunters don't really have that much tools in the end game due to lack of good removals
that, and by the time you have malygod you would of used up most of your combo peices for the board presense
since the other person didn't explain it properly having a few spells doesn't make malygod good in that deck it's the player that built it knows what he is doing first step how you gonna get the draws
second step you gotta have AoE for the board maybe a few removal for their big threats
third step survival to actually use malygod with the new old gods in play your playing with fire.... Try it against c thun deck
Personally I think hunters removal relies too much on rng, and their draw engine is too nonexistent to ever have a good combo deck.
Just live long enough. Doomsayer saves you 2 turns worth of bullshit, taunts keep you not dead for a bit too, and the Elek can be used to force draw either Alex or Malygos.

The most important thing in a deck revolving around "the essence of magic" from Malygos is to have a very good draw, cause you need to combo a sequence of fireworks in the face of your opponent.
This is the reason that Warlocks are the best class using Malygod (the second better is Rogue). I run Warlock Malygod in my F2P european account.
Dark Bomb, Drain Life and the powerfull Soul Fire are your win conditions (the addition of 2 Dark Peddlers after LOE have the chance to give you another Soul Fire). Even though, you still need to be pacient, having your combo in hand (at least Malygos and 3 spells)... and decrease their cost "by the power of Ragnaros" using Thaurisan.
A Malygos deck needs a lot of draw, healing and some removals that dont screw with your win condition spells.
Maybe hunters can be ok (not spectacular, but ok) in the removals with skill command (only if using a beast) and hunters mark, but the card draw from hunters is awfull, the mot stupid thing in the whole game.
Untill hunters have a consistent card draw (unleash the hounds + Cult Master is unreliable), I dont put many faith a Malygos Hunter deck.
A 1-mana spell damage card when the class already has a 1-mana and 2-mana spell damage card? Thats the exact formula for a Malygos deck right?

hunter got no C'Thun synergy IIRC...
and also... Malygos ? too slow i think... it's still better to build beast deck / face / midrange...

I made a maly hunter months ago that some people liked, and it carried me from 15-7 pretty easily. so most likely it'll be decent
tbh, i miss heal bot, slude, and other cards i used to play. but these are just random things im going to try this was the original
The closest to control hunter you will get is slow midrange with n'zoth the corruptor

Hmm, Why not just add the auctioneer, and a couple other card draws?
a Yogg-Saron, Hope's End Hunter should be viable with Explorer's Hat coupled with Lock and Load...
