Don't forget bluffing and hand tracking. This game has so many skill layers that base players don't even come close to understanding. For instance I can hand track thorough intuition but firebat actually knows which cards have been held from which turns and can predict what they're holding with high accuracy.

Also someone said 5 years ago it took 100 games just to reach rank 5 and now it takes them 50 to get somewhere between 1-5... And used this to say it's rng based.... How? Likely in 5 years your skill got better and they changed the laddering system to make it softer to get to legend. Lol.

If you have any doubt about skill in Hearthstone, i would suggest to watch some games from Hunterace in GM! I am sure this guy would beat 9 out of 10 times every normal Rank5 Hearthstone player, even if he had an unfavorable matchup.

Also in comparison to other Cardgames Hearthstones skillsealing is quite okish.

In my opinion  most players  blame rng or bad luck for their losses, but meanwhile they don’t see their mistakes, and " it’s all just rng " , is the easy way out.

In fact I would say saying it's rng would likely cause someone not to grow as rather than looking for ways to improve and finding patterns they think ' random pattern' this disabling themselves from actually learning.

And then since they don't get better and don't learn the skills to win there is a self referential loop and it still looks like rng to them. It's self reinforcing because if you don't look to improve and find where skill is needed  that doesn't exist for you thus the only obvious thing is rng.

So you are ok if quest shaman on turn 2 plays an evil totem and you have wrath in hand to just pass the turn? God damn I hope all my opponents were this determined that completing the quest is more important than tempo.

Kripp agrees btw. He said specifically to play it the way you're saying to play it and the win rate is much better

posted a message on Why is experimenting downplayed so much nowadays?
    Quote from MProdigy >>

Remember the good old days when the first couple weeks was full of experimentation and building innovative decks? Sure there were always numbnuts playing decks with zero new cards, but overall the beginning was full of trying out stuff and looking for the next crazy synergies. Best time to play HS imho.

Now... it seems like Blizzard wants us to not focus on experimenting because they insist on giving streamers a week of pre-release experience that they know full well people will blindly copy-paste day one after opening and crafting. Of course the meta won’t be settled by any stretch, but it does begin taking shape faster than it should.

And it’s working. I read a post earlier where OP stated that the hype is decreased by Blizzard giving streamers early access and others reamed into him because “that’s the way it is, get over it” nonesense.

For those who will still come up with their own decks and actually experiment in the early stages of the expansion, I applaud. Thank you for keeping the game interesting.

Personally I will experiment and I will crush those beneath me. I guess it all depends on how good an experimenter one is.

Honestly that doesn't make sense at all to me because by only putting those cards in if you don't hit them then you've just lowered your card draw by 1 for basically no reason. I think of you play this to make up for the card draw  loss you're playing the whole package

Seems great in a paladin draw buff deck. Lots of  3/1 dtoken generatorsr. Draw 2. 1 cost draw 2… cult Master put all that together and somehow just enough spells for shrivallah and what zoo with a combo finisher

Well it definitely helps with the quest. Feels hard to evaluate. It's a similar power level to acolyte of pain except it's easier to guarantee the first draw

And here i got excited they were printing thief rogue support

But you can save up deadly poisons for spectral etc and go for the big heal
