Is it because you enjoy netdecking from day 1 and crush the ladder or do you enjoy using meme decks? Do you care about ranked at all or are you a casual who finds fun from unique interactions?
1. Its not a 100% concentration game, i can type in whatsapp, use twitter, move around the house... Thats really important for me, hate to stick 1 hour to the chair 100% in like un league.
2. Lot of games are way toó hard, even if u play 1098983 hours u wont become good at all, in hs you can fully understand the game, the meta and playa it at top lvl withouth having to be a genius
3. I personally enjoy control decks and i usually use the versión that profesional players use, nota much into meme decks
4. Its familiar to me. Been playing since the launch, its kinda warm to play something that ive been into for so long
Because I like collecting stuff and I enjoy trying out decks and winning with them (no matter if they are t1 or t4 - if their playstyle suits my playstyle - I play them and have fun). I also like to play a game, where I can play whenever I want (I don't feel "forced" to complete dailies or login every day or else I fell behind). It's also really chill and has a competitive character as well. There are many more reasons, but I am too lazy to write them all down :).

i totally was a FPS enthusiast before. however i kinda grew out of these games and got more into rather relaxing games where you don't have to be on the edge for several hours straight
Because its fun, I get it to an extent, I'm regularly improving at it, you can play 5 minutes or 5 hours, and most importantly unlike CSGO or Dota or LoL, it's a game I don't play with a team. If I lose it's my fault, nobody is yelling at me and games don't depend on factors beyond my control. Also I can play whatever I want whenever I want, I don't have to support if I don't want to like in MOBAs for instance
Well, I play for a reason that may seem strange to other people: I actually enjoy the game and think it’s an excellent game as well. It has a lot of depth and variety which keeps things interesting and, despite of what a lot of people think, the game has a pretty high skill cap so there is always room to improve as a player. I like that. Of course there have been some tedious metas (like the mid range shaman meta a few years ago) but on the whole it’s been generally good
Another big plus for me is that I can play wherever I am on my phone or iPad. This is great because I travel a lot for work so I can queue up whenever I have some free time. I’m on vacation in Vietnam this week and no matter what time it is I can always get a game, even in Wild at 4am CET.
Ive never played WoW so I don’t care about the lore but the I like the characters and the art and the entire feel of the game. The sounds and overall production is tip top as well. It works for me and it’s the only game I play.
Edit: I’ve been playing since 2015. That’s the longest time a game has ever held my interest aside from Street Fighter II Champion Edition which I still love and it’s probably been over twenty years!
Edit 2: also the game is fun. I’ve had so many incredible games, crazy long control/value battles that have just been awesome regardless of whether or not I won. And some games where I somehow found a way to win when the situation looked absolutely hopeless. That to me is probably the main reason I keep coming back for more: HearthStone is an awesome game. Well made and a lot of fun to play.
I love playing with different cards and interactions. Whenever I need to make a choice between a card that will make me win more games and a bad but fun card, I usually choose the latter because it's really satisfying when you make those cards work. I also don't care about my rank at all. If I happen to reach rank 15 or 10 the end of season reward is a nice bonus, but at the same time there are a lot more people netdecking at the lower ranks which drastically lowers my enjoyment of the game.
I also like building up a large collection over time. I still don't get to play with nearly the amount of cards I'd like to try out but each time a new expansion comes out I like to look at my older cards and decks to see if they open up new possibilities.
I play ranked mainly and use a murloc deck which is completely weak in comparison to token druid and zoolock but i just enjoy it more.
I then have built more meme decks mainly around pogo hopper for casual play again just because i enjoy it.
So I’ll say i play for fun only using decks i enjoy. I could build control warrior but it’s the most boring deck I’ve ever seen on hearthstone so altough i could easily get a higher rank with it what’s the point just to be bored?
Memes. HS is no longer a game of skill, but rather luck and perseverance. So memes are the best way (for me) to enjoy it. Unfortunately memes are more expensive than typical decks, but they are so much more fun it’s worth it. Winning with memes consistently is totally possible too, just watch J4ckiechan on Twitch for proof. Winning with memes is the last true semblance of skill.
@op: i don't. I'd rather spend my time in something i enjoy - some strategy games, one new mmorpg, etc. HS is neither. There is no strategy in it. If your deck's key card is at the bottom, good luck winning any matchup that finishes in at most 20 turns. That's not strategy, that's adaptation forcing.
All of these stupid coin flips don't make for anything resembling a strategy. Quite the opposite - extreme frustration when you lose because of stupid and lucky things. Yes, winning because of them happens too, but why should I have to coin-flip every time for my enjoyment? I'd rather play something that allows 100% control and just hone my skills until i get as good at it as i want.

I just play it when I feel like it and I try decks that I have the right cards for.
I playa for various reasons
1. Its not a 100% concentration game, i can type in whatsapp, use twitter, move around the house... Thats really important for me, hate to stick 1 hour to the chair 100% in like un league.

Because it's actually possible to play perfectly
Edit: It's obviously not the only reason but it's one of them that the others didn't say

Because I hate fun
I enjoy forever having to play aggro because control decks break the bank
There's another thread with this exact same topic: https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/231763-why-do-you-still-playhearthstone-in-2019?page=2#c21
So here's my post from that thread:

Missing lethal since June 2015.
It’s not like the best aggro decks run 3-5 legendaries and 4 epics or anything.

Ah yes, I forgot token druid and murloc shaman totally both run 3-5 legendaries and 4 epics. https://hsreplay.net/archetypes/7/token-druid https://hsreplay.net/archetypes/126/murloc-shaman

This tread looks salty

Honest answer.
I loved MTG (paper version, not arena), but it's too expensive and time consuming.
Hearthstone is what replaces MTG for me, being much cheaper and time friendly. (because it's on a computer/phone)
MTG is a much better card game, but Hearthstone more than enough fulfills my card game needs :p
Football and games.
