Why would you want to build Control Shaman if the purpose is just to prey on aggressive decks? You do realize it's quite weak vs. the popular Bomb Warrior and especially Khadgar Mage, do you? Also, any kind of Hunter is just going to wreck you, especially when they're running the Aggro mech build. Versus Token Druid it just depends on how good or bad the Druids opening is, otherwise you're screwed as well. I don't know but that sounds like a terrible idea to me. It seems to me you're relying on HSR raw data too much. VS got it right when they said:
"You’d think that with so many good late game cards, Shaman will be able to field a respectable control deck. The problem is that Warrior has a stronger attrition game plan that totally outclasses what Shaman can come up with, and Shaman doesn’t have the means to actively kill its opponents at a certain point. Control Shaman also gets hard countered by anything that hard counters Control Warrior, so it gets caught in the crossfire very often. For now, this archetype is dead."

the deck I'm running isn't the typical control shaman and it's not really only for that. it just has very high winrates vs all aggressive decks.
I built it because I already had nearly all the cards, and the ones I had to craft I wanted anyway.
I know the deck isn't very well known at all, but it's winrates vs all the aggressive decks are over 65%. it just does really bad vs other control decks.
Like I stated I'm at rank 17, there are no control decks. It means I can play this vs the aggro for easy wins for gold or whatever.
I'm simply building decks that counter things. this is like my 10th deck this expac.
PS: I posted a link to the deck on HS replay where you can see the winrates so I don't know why I have to keep pointing this out.
it's not the control shaman that has a 40% winrate and is tier 4. it;s totally different deck that is great against every aggressive deck in the game, but on the flipside is bad against other control decks.
those decks you mentioned I haven't even seen on ladder. all I face is token druid, zoo lock, murlocs and tempo rogue... sometimes bomb warrior, but rarely ever. (I don't play enough to ever rank up that far, I might make it to rank 10 or something) and theres just none of that high end stuff further down the ladder. it's all aggro.
This deck has great winrates vs the decks I face. thats why I built it (well made it, I already had the cards mostly)
I've played various control shaman lists. Right now I think the first one you posted is the best because it has a win condition, but it's a bit less consistent with its ability to control. It usually beats aggro but you can't outvalue warriors like fatigue shaman can, and no version of shaman that isn't aggro is going to beat conjurer mage.
The problem with the fatigue control style of control shaman is that all your removal is spells and it becomes hard to ever "turn the tables". Warrior has removal on a stick, so it has board presence and counter pressure. In a lot of fatigue shaman games I clear the whole board and keep a good health total but apply no counter pressure so eventually they do something to win unless they just run out of gas, which Rogue rarely does with it's card generating dudes + raiding parties and Zoolock has life tap and then Rafaam for the late game.
I honestly think aggro is just overtuned right now. "tempo" rogue, token druid, and zoolock are so strong the only thing that control them is warrior and against token even that is a tough task.
It's a shame because shaman is my favorite class. I love big shaman but it's outshined by conjure mage, murloc is out shined by the previously mentioned aggro, and controlling shamans aren't as good as warrior.

also not every single deck needs to be able to completely smash it.
I have token druid, carpet zoo, mid range beast hunter, bomb hunter, thief rogue, shuffle rogue, tempo rogue, about 4 or 5 murloc shaman decks (that are all different) and now a control shaman.
I have a wide mix of decks, some are considered better than other, I enjoy all of them. The fact the last deck I built isn't going to steamroll the meta is of little concern to me.
I just wanted to put my hagatha's to more use. TBH I mainly wanted to have something I can play vs friends and in casual where I don't feel like a prick for steam rolling them with a highly aggressive deck or something that is just unfair to someone who isn't playing a meta deck.

yeah it seems like a fun class to play. I had a lot of new cards so I wanted to try something other than murlocs. I wasn't about to commit to one of those insane decks with like 9 legendaries in them, so went for something cheaper that had cards I either had or wanted anyway.
I built the one with the 2 hagatha's that looks like an old school control deck. we have those new elemental's as well with windfury that help with tidy up the board and healing a bit.
It is great Vs. aggro, but not so good Vs. proper control decks like warrior. still though, it's fun and I like it so that's all that matters really. It wins Vs. a lot of the popular decks, so that's a bonus.
PS: I mean the 2nd one. the first one isn't even a control deck, it's a new deck known as "mid range overload aggro shaman" (regis just covered it in his sleepers list) I can build that as well, but it's just another aggressive deck. the one I built is actually a control deck.
also it does have a win condition, it's not like a finisher like leeroy or something, but it keeps clearing their stuff and then wins with it's own stuff. the finisher is the 2 hagatha's really. I mean I got 2 mountain giants as pulls from the draw cards before which were certainly a finisher, but that was RNG.
I dunno man. it's just the base for a deck, I can add more to it when I have the stuff for it. it has a good winrate vs the decks I face so I built it.
those new mid range overload decks look good, but no one replied to this til after I'd crafted the cards already. ha ha.
always happens man, I wait like 5 hours sometimes and no one replies. I craft the cards then straight away someome tells me to craft the opposite. hahaha. enough to drive you insane sometimes. it's cool though, I got loads of playable decks right now so it;s not like this one needs to be able to beat everything.
if it was my only deck then yeah, I'd probably be bummed. ha ha.
yeah I seen it on youtube. I don't have the cards for it. thanks though.
I built the elemental overload one (the one thats actually a control deck) and it's really good.
BTW when I posted that deck I just posted the two decks with the best winrates on HS replay. HS replay is putting token decks in with the control ones.
For some reason the bigger expensive decks have a worse winrate. I don't know why because they still have good winrates VS. everything my deck is good against (slightly worse though) but it's a whole 10% better vs control warrior.
anyway this is what I built. once I have more control tools I can build something more grand. I need to get my farsights/hauntings, shudder and alysiana next I think. then I will be well on my way to having one of the crazy fatigue decks.
The one I built is mainly for beating aggro decks and stuff. it doesn't have the long fatigue game, but like I say I couldn't build it that way if I wanted to as I don't have the cards.
I'd like to add guys that the deck is performing greatly. I have even beat fatigue warriors (mage destroyed me, but I was still learning tbf and I think if I'd healed instead of playing minions I maybe could have won that... wishful thinking though) fatigue warrior and conjurer mage are my two weaknesses with this deck though, so not expecting to win them.
anyway, the reason for this post as I am gradually wanting to build up my shaman kit.
I have enough to get an epic spell. should I get my 2nd witches brew, a copy of haunting visions, or a copy of foresight, please? I was swaying toward the haunting visions as it has some synergy with my deck, and could get me some more removal or something, but maybe far sight for the draw which I'm sorely lacking is the better option? the extra heal would be nice as well, but I'm currently not really hurting for any heal.
Upon looking at some decks though, it seems far sight isn't used that much and that they use haunting visions there with spirit of the frog to draw spells. maybe I wanna look at adding a spirit of the frog drawing package with 2 haunting and 2 brew next then? that way I have a more reliable way to get at removal faster. seems like a decent plan to me.
Or should I just save the dust to buy aylsiana? I know I probably need both her and shudderwok though to actually even think about adding a fatigue package to my deck... and also maybe the epics are core and I would need them more if I want to expand my shaman repertoire
I could probably even just spend it on rares instead and get some key pieces there.
I like the Dragon Package, does anyone have a optimized list of some sort?
someone posted one earlier. in fact a few people have in this thread I think. don't know about optimized though. I never looked at them much as I can't build them.
any answer to my question mate? if I could craft one more spell should I get a far sight or a haunting visions? I am just trying to build up my control shaman stuff gradually. they both are great cards. I'm leaning toward the spell one I think.
Far Sight doesn't belong in a Control deck, it's meant to discount combo pieces in decks such as Muckmorpher Shaman. I'd go with a second Witch's Brew as the card fulfills several purposes (value trades, emergency heal) and can even help cycling through your deck in case you run Spirit of the Frog (which is arguably more useful than Mana Tide Totem). Regarding Haunting Visions I think it's down to personal preference but it's no high priority card.
May I ask why you include Fire Elemental, a card which is usually played in Mid Range lists? Does it perform so well? Remember, the battlecry could backfire when coupled with Shudderwock.

thanks dude. I am looking at a new deck here and I runs 2 witches brew and neither of those other 2 cards, so it was a good call.
also I don't have shudderwok in the deck yet (the deck will change when I do) I mainly have it as it's one of the best things I have for that slot. I was thinking of trying replacing it with safeguard for synergy with ziliax though just to test it.
This deck has a sort of mid rangey elemental/control hyrbid thing going on anyway. It's just a cheaper way to run control and it is more about winning the games vs aggro right now, as I don't have the cards to go into fatigue.
I have a totally different version for when I get aylisiana and shudderwok. I will share when I build it though.
thanks man. yeah I'm just trying to get bits from packs and crafting as I go.
you reckon alysisna is one of the most important cards right now for the fatigue match up? only thing is I got no baleful or shudderwok to bounce it. I don't know if alysiana on her own is worth it.
It's a neutral card that pretty much obligatory in most pure Control decks. I'd say it's a safe craft (more so then Shudderwock for example).
thanks. I might get that next then if it can make my deck better. even without baleful or shudderwok though? I have no way to copy her I don't think. maybe that pandaren guy. I could use my barista as well I think, but not in the same turn.
I was having success with Control shaman in the first week but lately it’s been pretty tough slogging. As others have pointed out, bomb/control warrior does control better and can also pressure us on the back end with their bombs. Elisiana + Shudderwock helps to clear bombs, but they’re usually running Archivist themselves, often with their own bounce capabilities. And there just isn’t enough AoE in the deck to handle Token Druid.
I’ve been toying with an Undatakah build w/ Abomination and Tunnel Blaster, which is great in theory for handling Token Druid, but way too slow.
Starting to agree with Vicious Syndicate that Control Shammy just isn’t the way to go right now.

this is why I'm, playing a different version. It does better vs token druid and while it has a lower winrate vs warrior and mage, those game are bad for us no matter what we do.
my version isn't as big or flashy, but it gets the job done at smashing up aggressive decks. token druid is still one of those decks that can beat anything if it gets rolling though, just one of them things.
I'm actually thinking about holding back on those crafts because I can get my control shaman fix witth the deck I have and it does alright.
I would like cool stuff like shudderwok though anyway just for fun purposes, so I will maybe craft that before alysiana. I'm still opening packs from shadows anyway so I could get lucky and draw her yet.
I get what you're saying though, there are better fatigue based control decks out there. not as interesting or as fun as control shaman though.
also I already have other decks that are very competitive, so this one not being a much isn't an issue to me, it's just mainly for fun.

I don't like either of the lists linked in the opener. The Bloodlust list is not even a control shaman, it's a token deck.
I made this list and played it to Legend:
