I am thinking about making a control shaman as I already have a lot of the stuff for it. theres 2 versions I'm looking at, I'm just not sure which way to go.
the one without elektra has the higher winrate Vs. zoolock though, so it might be the better one? it has the lower overall winrate though.
would be great if anyone who knows about the arhcetype could give me some advice, please.
I don't have any control decks right now as I used to play control warlock and that kind of fell off. I am hearing good things about control shaman though, and as I am also playing murloc decks, I have a lot of the same cards. in turn if I build the one without elektra, I get to craft OG-Hagatha, which is a card I actually want as well.
anyway guys, as usualy I really appreciate any advice you can give me.
I don't have shudder yet, but was thinking of crafting anyway.
yeah after closer inspection, one of those is a token deck that uses elektra for double buff stuff. I don't know why it's in the control section.
The other one is totally a classic control deck though. I think it looks great. according to the stats as well it dunks on all aggro decks and tempo rogue. it just suffers VS more greedy control decks with more late game. It's the perfect deck for me though where I am as I see a lot of basic aggro decks.
I was gonna craft shudderwok and 2 x hench clan hag though instead as they are good with certain murloc set ups.
I just can't decide whether to get those or go with that control deck (the one with the 2 hagathas and the removal and healing and stuff)
I think the 7 mana hag is too slow against aggro decks. I wouldn't bother with it.
I think Elsyianna is a better option against other control and it's neutral so you can use it in other control decks.
it's definitely not too slow I don't think. also I already have it. I don't have alysiana. the purpose of this deck is to farm aggro down the ldder, I'm not trying to beat other control decks as there isn't any.
If and when I get to the place where theres more control decks, I'll switch to something that counters them.
anyway I kn ow your saying it;s too slow vs aggro, but it's going in the deck as I have it. ha ha.
Looks terrible to me. 1 storm and 1 scheme against heavy aggro?
Mech , dragon and Elemental package with not enough support for any of them.
Secret removal when there aren't many secrets around. No weapon removals?
1 storm is pretty anough for me to survive the first aggro wave. Don't forget that you can find spells you need multiple times. About weapon removal - good notice.
There are lots of great and powerful combinations and cards. I love this deck and I'm having a lot of fun while playing it. Enjoy :)
https://hsreplay.net/decks/GxXtViuG6C6X30sw7hQbFg/ (only I'm not running harrison and swamp ooze instead. I can make small changes, but I can't add any other legendaries other than ones I have. I was thinking about maybe adding the barista for making copies of the battlecries. it's probs not as effective as a more shudderwok geared deck though)
this is the deck mate. I can only play whats in it really. I can make minor changes, but I don't have enough for any more legendaries if I craft the extra spells and stuff for control anyway.
I was initially going to craft shudderwok and 2 x hunch hag for my murloc decks as it's pretty cool to use shudder to fill the board full of stuff after clears.
I then thought about building a control deck though saying as I had both the hagatha's now.
what do you think of this deck anyway? it seems to have a great winrate vs aggro decks and tempo rogue. not expecting it to well vs control decks with more late game, but thats the trade off really.
I've tried almost the exact same thing, though with Elysiana, no second ooze. Maybe no Zilliax to make room for the extra scheme. Scheme + Omega mind is a full heal plus board clear, and Shudderwock is really good with the dragon package, especially if you can hold one on the nightmare amalgams in your hand.
It looks like you are looking for more budget versions of control shaman but I think these won't work very well. I've made some quick changes (adding tech cards). It's still missing cards like Doomsayer and the second Witch's Brew so it might struggle but everything depends on what you're facing and also your play style.

thanks, I have tried the deck and it works fine as far as I can tell. I will try out doomsayer and I wanted a 2nd witches brew anyway TBH. it's such a good card.

I should have said as well that this deck is just for farming aggro, it;s not meant to beat other control decks. it's purely for ladder climbing as it;s nothing but aggro down the bottom end. also at the start of a month you can farm them pretty well for daily gold and stuff.
I would like to make a control deck that can fight other control decks, but I don't have the resources right now. I mostly play tempo, mid range and zoo and stuff (I used to play a lot of control lock though) but it's been a while since I've wanted to play any control tbh. This sort of control-lite list is perfect for me right now.
I would like to get a full blown, gnarly control warrior later in the year if they're still good though. I loved that old dead mans hand deck
I looked at your version, it looks pretty cool and all, I like mine for now though. I will try it out or bits from it anyway. I think yours might go better with the shudderwok stuff. I like my elemental discover cards and overload synergy and stuff. I only really want to try and add 1 more of the epic heals, and maybe 2 of those safes (the new mech taunts) so zilliax has a target to get bigger heals from him. I only feel like I might need a bit more healing, thats it really.
EDIT: scrath that, two of my minions have lifesteal as well and they're big boys. maybe I don't need that body for zilliax after all. I will just have to test shit out really.
I feel like you could play any version of control Shaman and still wreck aggro, so long as you mulligan properly. As for control matchups, I would definitely go for the Dragon package (Crowd Roaster plus Firetree Witchdoctor) with Archivist Elysiana and Baleful Banker. Just play whatever works for you.

I don't think either of those decks looks particularly good or look like control decks.
Do you have shudderwock and hagatha hero? I was having some luck with a dragon control shaman.
List here. I'm missing a second hagathas scheme. Cut something for it. Not a dragon obviously.

I thought you meant my deck, was gonna say mine has 2 of both. it has 13 spells in total. ha ha.
and hey, I was just being nice... and the core of the deck does look good to me. it could do with some refinement though.
1 storm is pretty anough for me to survive the first aggro wave. Don't forget that you can find spells you need multiple times. About weapon removal - good notice.
Depends what you're meeting at your rank I guess. Wouldn't work for me, too many token druids.
This is my list that I'm running right now at the rank 5: AAECAfWfAwqKAe0Fp+4C7/cC6voCmfsCoIAD84oDuZkDhp0DCvUE/gX/BbIGigen9wKKhQOtkQOVlAPFmQMA
I've made some tech choices like adding the second Acidic Swamp Ooze for better winrate against bomb warriors and rogues.
I also love Archivist Elysiana + Baleful Banker combo for getting rid of the bombs.
Swampqueen Hagatha can make an insane combinations like Rain of Toads + The Storm Bringer
There are lots of great and powerful combinations and cards. I love this deck and I'm having a lot of fun while playing it. Enjoy :)
it has a good winrate vs token druids... are we even talking about the same deck? https://hsreplay.net/decks/GxXtViuG6C6X30sw7hQbFg/

My current list I've played from 14 to 10...
I built the deck anyway. this is how it looks in it's first iteration.
for some reason it says there only 28 cards in the deck as well when there's not. I think it's broken or something. it's definitely a full deck.
EDIT: ok somehow hagatha's scheme wasn't added. weird. it was when I checked the list like 4 times to find the missing cards.
