I was hoping it would be a new meta and it is, but you can tell already that in a week its going to go right back to Cubelock and agro Paladin. Cubelock lost Maiden of Mixtures and that's it. Agro Paladin was already Tier 1 and it got better.
I guess considering the main new parts they added: even/odd and rush (aside from stat swap worgens), it doesn't seem like they added a lot of different playstyles. It seems like every class can steal hand now... so helps for counter-plays and helps for summoning more shudderwock's than the opponent. I definitely miss the evolve shaman and will be curious if it will be playable- probably only in the "for fun" levels (20/15/10/5) but even/odd didn't interest me at all. I seriously asked: How many heroes do you want an upgraded hero power on or a 1 mana hero power? Back when this was justicar, it was Priest/warrior.. back when raza was 0 mana, it saw a ton of play, but once that was nerfed to 1... I didn't see it much.
Again, early expansion is full of whiners BUT... even/odd isn't interesting at all to me which definitely limits the interest in this xpac to finding a niche (or meme) legendary. Hopefully we didn't enter age of OP shamans for the next 2 years.
I don’t remember which thread it was where someone pointed out that the grand tournament, although it didn’t change the meta in any revolutionary way, still had a bunch of cards that were useful tools in a lot of decks until it rotated out. I think that the Witchwood will be much the same way. The meta is, in my opinion, the least frustrating it’s ever been (at least in wild), and this expansion is really just a toolbox of cool and useful things that I can add to any deck I want. And while I’ll admit that no card stands out to me as “super interesting” on its own, that’s because they’re mostly utilities, not stars of their decks.
I think they really should do something about the animation of the battlecry shaman deck. I do not mind the power level, but sitting there and watching the endless animation turn after turn is really really not fun. Otherwise I have no issue so far.

That I do agree with. That animation takes far too long for no reason. I don't need to see what card causes the effect, just do the effect!
Yeah the expansion is garbage, you got the odds/even thing and shuddercrap, and that's all. There is not a single interesting deck is standard to play, aggro pallys are unrefined, shuddercrap looks like a random mashup of subpar cards that somehow manages to get a 30min win, odd hunter is again an unrefined pure face deck. You basically throw cards on the board and hope the opponent doesn't have better ones, pathetic.
Cubelock still seems like a deck that looks like a fine tuned car, but apparently the "community" has a problem with that and wants to destroy it (o.o just like europe).Bastards.
Well, i got my pity timer leggy so i'll see ya guys in wild, where real deckbuilding works.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The 1st step towards a better game is firing Mike Donais! We had enough of his "skillful" balances!
I think that there are many new decks being enabled. Blizz has given a free legendary away, and it seems like many people were fairly lucky in opening legendaries. Cubelock is still VERY strong, which has turned a lot of people off. Any new set, especially with rotation brings fresh looks at a meta. I would respectfully suggest that you keep your salt to yourself.
They seriously need to start looking at some the community designed cards for inspiration...if odd/even and stat-flip cards is the best they can come up with at the low end, and Shudderwock is what they think is a complex interesting card....well, not good enough. It's not power levels of cards that are the problem (I would much prefer lower power level cards, it's healthier for the game) - it's the lack of creatitvity. Custom hearthstone cards on here and reddit often put the real ones from blizzard to shame.
Overall though I'd caution you to hold back on overall judgement of the expansion, atleast for a week,
i like the expansion a lot, go spread your negativity somewhere else.
Sorry for having a different opinion.
But as said before: yes, many expansions before had a "worst expansion ever"-thread, because for different people this is the worst expansion. For me personally I think that this is it.
Witchwood seems somehow uninspired: it seems that they didn't put as much effort in it as in other expansions before. There's 2 new mechanics. But for 2 new mechanics the card pool is too low. And there's not really something new.
Odd/Even is not really appealing. And the buffs they give is everything we had before: one is nerfed Raza, the other one is Justicar. So rehash of old content.
Like said before: i can't see any card where i would say: wow, i really love to try it.

So...your problem is that the meta hasn't settled and become stale? You people crack me up.

IT HASNT EVEN BEEN 24 HOURS SINCE THE RELEASE. All i hear is baby noices from you.

Lots of fun decks out there to experiment with. Odd and even decks alone, there's 18 potential decks to build.

First set of a Year is generally safer; since it'll be around the longest; and is the basis for the other sets to build off.

Expansion just released.
People saying it's crap next day even without testing it.
Hearthpwn logic.
They literally make strong classes even stronger. I am not satisfied with this expansion.
My friend is going to quit the game so it seems I will follow him.

This expansion seems really good. Shudderwock is counterable, and so is Cubelock. I don't see an issue so far (I haven't played Big Priest yet).
What's your issue with it (I usually don't read posts like this fully)?
i like the expansion a lot, go spread your negativity somewhere else.
I like the expansion - there's plenty of cards to experiment with in the freshly rotated Standard format ^^
