NONE OF THE META DECKS ARE WORKING FOR ME A DAY INTO THE EXPANSION IT'S DISAPPOINTING
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.
Unpopular opinion: Witchwood is really crappy. In every expansion there were at least some cards that seems fun or competitive or somehow looking forward to play; but Witchwood is really completely disappointing. Even in TgT there were some interresting cards there, but Witchwood is the first expansion where i don't want to play any card from it. There's 0 interresting things about it.
Dude, it's been 1 day since launch and you're already whining?
Fuck off
Dear mister "i contribute much to the conversation with my thoughtful language"
If you read my thread it's not about the meta, how the meta turns out or something else. It's about that the cards are simply too boring and i can't see playing any of those. And no, this will not change on day 1, 2 or any other days.
Most cards are uninspiring. There is nothing new, the only "new" mechanic is echo; but because of the inclusion of 2 new mechanics, there are too few of either of them. And compared to the last 3 expansions, this is a big step backwards.
And who said i was talking about the metagame?
You may find cards "uninspiring", but i still see you playing a couple of weeks from now, and enjoying the new cards.
And the game had to stop the power creep it had every set prior. Remember that 3 expansions rotated and we still get 2 more this year. Maybe some of those new cards will have better interactions/art/whatever, and will work pretty well with WW. Meanwhile, play what you got and stop whining.
Also remember that all TCG companies plan ahead in themes, mechanics, interactions, etc. They can't just put everything OP and 10 mechanics in every set or the game will go kaput way too soon.
Looking at the expansion in a vacuum it looks really underwhelming. Slightly rehashed Ideas, Shudderdouche, and just the odd/even mechanic but that's about it. But then you take those things, and you start looking at what else can go with it, and good lord the possibilities are mind boggling. I got really lucky with my pulls. I got almost the entire set minus a few epics and about half of the legendaries in only 120 packs. I got Genn(golden) and Baku which I haven't even touched yet because MINION MAGE IS SO FUN and Archmage Arugal's gold art is f%&ing fantastic. I'm also looking to make an Odd Dragon Soul combo priest deck as well as Odd druid. There's a lot to play with and a lot to redo because of the rotation. Give it a chance and think outside the box.
Expansion is on for less than 24h and whole forum is filled with complaining threads. Srsly...
Instead of complaining people need to start taking real action. Stop wasting money on this lazily designed overpriced game until they fix the problems they have created.

What problems? Most of us are having fun, maybe you should actually express yourself in an adult manner and explain what the problems you have are and how you think they should be fixed.

A lot of the cards just seem thrown together, re-hashes of old ideas with newer [poorer] artwork, there's no overall consistent 'vibe' about this set, it all just seems random, could have been called anything really.
I think this is a pretty good summary of the issues of this expansion.
Cards are awesome. Stop playing the game and stop forcing people to embrace your whining. It will never happen. We're going to keep playing and having fun.
I play heartsthone since the start and always mained Priest. Priest never was really good until the recent expacs. However, It never bothered me that much. With this expac however I feel there is nothing good for Priest, so I don't know how much longer I will continue to play.
Which is sad. Cause I really like the game as a whole...
"I really like the game as a whole, but now - a day after release - that I FEEL like the 1/9 classes I'm playing doesn't have anything good - it might or might not, I don't know - going for it, I might quit the game all together. Thanks Blizz for ruining this game that I enjoy so wholly and that I'm attached to so much..."
Just get out. And please ignore the "Baku Priest op :((" thread just right below this on the way out.
I personally find Witchwood to be the most boring expansion of all. I know some people will and won't agree and that's OK. We all have different reasons to like or not like this game, the important part of any value in these discussions is simply understanding why and the direction Blizzard (don't blame team 5) is going. If we think back on 2017 each expansion had something powerful and new via legendary especially. Quests, Death Knights, and finally weapons. One of the biggest complaints I have heard over the last few releases is how Blizzard is ripping us off because they are printing two class legendaries in each set, meaning you're being forced to play other classes in essence. This was largely in part due to the power level of some of these class legendaries. Thinking about Witchwood this week after seeing all the cards. I realize yes, this set does suck, I have opened 7 packs so far and little interest in getting more. Still, I also realize the powerful cards are not legendaries or even epics as much as Commons and rare. This means the good cards in this deck are way easier to obtain through packs and crafting. So while I am disappointed I can see the upside in that I can see a new meta slowly coming, and it won't cost me much to stay involved. Witchwood socks, but for the right reason is all I'm saying.
I disagree, I didn't play in the TGT era. But this is a hell of a lot more fun than the last expansion, as far as the different decks to play. Played a lot of Druid yesterday, and there was like 6 totally different builds of how Druid could be played. Hunter has so many different ways to play it. Sure, overall I am going to face the same Paladins/Warlocks/Priest/Mages. But at least my decks aren't boring.
for me, and i'm probably repeating what a lot of people have already said, the biggest problem is the all of the animations that come from shudderwock. i've only run into about two so far i think, but they were both terrible experiences that i don't feel the need to repeat. it's making me feel forced to stay in casual so i can insta concede shaman, which is very disappointing. it's not because i think the deck is OP, i just don't want to play a full game and then hear all about jaws and claws and jaws and claws and jaws and claws and jaws and claws. aside from that i think there are a lot of new things and decks to try out.

Or you can sit out this expac and wait for the next, save your gold save your dust I have a gut feeling the next expac will be "Old Gods-esque"

I am loving the expansion and I haven’t even try my favorite decks in Wild with WW power ups!
Nor have I done any Even or Odd Deck, right there are at least 18 decks I need to try.
I wonder if OP have a huge collection and if not if that is what is avoiding him from having fun, being unable to build many decks may be dispainting

I like a lot the expansion.
Fix the warlock bullshit once for all and we will have a very good meta like Un'Goro or better.

Spoken and summed up perfectly 👌
I think it's quite uninspired. It's definitely not WotOG or Un'goro level good. I think that's quite obvious.
But worse than Kharazan? Worse than Mean Streets? Hmm
