The only thing I want is a shorter animation time on shudderwock, that's it. The expansion is awesome and a ton of cards left Standard. You can literally play dozens of new decks. Why whine constantly. Just leave the game already. Tons of you whining every single day. I don't get it.
Tons of new fun decks that get destroyed by aggro in 4-5 turns.
Isn't expansions fault thought, is just the mentality of players that can't play outside of aggro in order to rank up.
well, give it time...i for one am playing aggro even Paladin because i'm a f2p and i ahd the cards avaliable for all of it without crafting, some of us don't have hundreds of dollars to spend in release day because we have other responsabilities.
The expansion has been out for a day. I doubt you have tried everything. Or tried very hard at all. You probably built one or two decks and they weren't great and gave up.
I like this meta, it's really agressive per se and i didn't imagine me ever saying this words but, this is an agressive Meta i don't mind, the aggro decks rn take a massive deckbuilding toll meaning that they usually don't have all the best tools avaliable for the class, you don't have to worry for CTA and Tarim when playing vs Odd Pala and you don't have to worry for...ehrr.. odd stuff when playing against even Pala and on top of all they don't have a massively powerful enutral paackage that makes it that you're rechnically playing against the same deck regardless of class.
I've been away from Hearthstone for a couple of months and made a last minute pre-order and I have to agree with OP. There's really no cards I'm excited to try outside of Shudderwock (and a bit curious to try Baku). But since I faced 10 Shudderwock decks in a row I felt like I got my dose of him rather quickly.
I think we were rather "spoiled" the last couple of expansions with quests into death knights into legendary weapons (and a lot of other stuff going on). As a previous Magic player I'm used to new card types being added all of the time and I was hoping that Blizzard was beginning to catch on to that trend. I've been standing up for HS to other Magic players saying that the strategy differences are more subtle, but definitely there. But the monotony of HS is catching up to me.
I'm not writing this just to complain but to emphasize that Blizzard is reaching a split road where they have to chose whether to keep the game simple and accessible to new players or whether they want to implement more advanced mechanics to keep the old players happy. Because of the standard rotation I think that they can introduce a lot more mechanics than they do now because new players will never have to keep track of more than what is in the standard card pool.
Anyway that's just me. I'll probably take a break again and come back when the next expansion hits.
I kind of agree. The three things I were excited for were Control Shaman, and Odd/Even control decks. Control Shaman is just pointless because Shudderwock Shaman is way better, and Odd/Even is just weaker than regular decks because there are so few cards in rotation at the moment.
Hopefully with some nerfs to the top decks it can become fun again. Right most of the new stuff is just underwhelming, so I find myself going back to the stuff I've been playing for months already.
Unpopular opinion: Witchwood is really crappy. In every expansion there were at least some cards that seems fun or competitive or somehow looking forward to play; but Witchwood is really completely disappointing. Even in TgT there were some interresting cards there, but Witchwood is the first expansion where i don't want to play any card from it. There's 0 interresting things about it.
Dude, it's been 1 day since launch and you're already whining?
A lot of the cards just seem thrown together, re-hashes of old ideas with newer [poorer] artwork, there's no overall consistent 'vibe' about this set, it all just seems random, could have been called anything really.
Been trying to come up with odd/even decks for all classes. Some I think are bad in Standard, but Wild all have possibilities with expanded card pools. Like Odd Mage... not enough burn/board clear for me, but at least in Wild I have Torch spells, and Firelands Portal.
They literally make strong classes even stronger. I am not satisfied with this expansion.
My friend is going to quit the game so it seems I will follow him.
So which is it? Is Shaman too powerful or did no bottom half class get anything to work with?
Shaman is not a problem at all
Cubelock- Check
Dudeladin-Check
Secretmage-Check
Spitefullpriest-Check
What exactly changed since yesterday? All the archetypes still exist
Quest mage gave its place to the shudderwock shaman even the winrates and counters are same
and some half baked aggro decks pop up.
And check from tempostorm how Ungoro and even old gods changed Meta when they first come alive. You can see huge difference.
Secret mage? What meta are you playing? Both forms of dudeadin are completely different from Kobolds dudeadin. Spiteful Priest is...ok at best without it's Drakonid Operative. Spiteful Druid is pretty strong. Genn and Baku decks are everywhere. Tempo Rogue has seen a resurgence with a brand new package. Cubelock is being held in check by a resurgence of aggro. Shudderwock combo, while a little annoying, brought back the combo archetype. There's plenty of new stuff if you are willing to look for it.
I play heartsthone since the start and always mained Priest. Priest never was really good until the recent expacs. However, It never bothered me that much. With this expac however I feel there is nothing good for Priest, so I don't know how much longer I will continue to play.
Which is sad. Cause I really like the game as a whole...
Uh there are at least 2 versions of Spiteful priest being played right now that are very good. We haven't even explored all the other possibilities yet.

Fuck off
Dear mister "i contribute much to the conversation with my thoughtful language"
If you read my thread it's not about the meta, how the meta turns out or something else. It's about that the cards are simply too boring and i can't see playing any of those. And no, this will not change on day 1, 2 or any other days.
Most cards are uninspiring. There is nothing new, the only "new" mechanic is echo; but because of the inclusion of 2 new mechanics, there are too few of either of them. And compared to the last 3 expansions, this is a big step backwards.
A lot of the cards just seem thrown together, re-hashes of old ideas with newer [poorer] artwork, there's no overall consistent 'vibe' about this set, it all just seems random, could have been called anything really.
I think this is a pretty good summary of the issues of this expansion.

I don't understand. So far I feel that spiteful priest do even better than before, since the old gods have left make the minion pool being a lot better. I have a very positive winrate to 2 top tier deck right now, which is shaman otk and cubelock. The problem is paladin, yah, these yellows dudes...But I'm ok with that cause every deck should have their own weekness.
So I want to point out a couple of things here. The deck rotations take away 576 cards from standard but Witchwood adds 247 meaning we have -329 compared to before Witchwood. Decks are a little more predictable because of this, but we are still seeing interesting decks appear. Warlock looks like it still might be part of the meta but new decks have appeared, old decks have reappeared (new Quest Taunt Warrior looks really strong, as does the revised Dragon Priest). You're complaining after 2 days about boring decks/lack of decks, why? It's day 2, people are still messing around, people are still trying to find new synergies with decks, relax and enjoy it. I personally think this expansion is really good.
I'm seeing very few Witchwood cards being played by my opponents at all. In Wild, it feels like the meta a few days ago before the rotation, nothing has changed.
Standard is just unplayable for me. It feels like a demo version of Hearthstone, where you have to use poor quality cards due to the small pool of cards available.
I know it's only been out two days and things will change in time, but it's quite depressing to see how few people are experimenting with new cards. Besides the Shudderwock fad which does not work a lot of the time.

Listen dude I main hunter and have played it from good to bad, but I never stopped having fun because I try out all the fun things I can with the class. Even now I’m playing dragon hunter purely because I think it’s a cool concept. My winrate is like 50% at 15 but that’s fine with me if I like the class. Just find something that fascinates you or is fun to play. Lady in white can be fun or a slower dragon priest or just play spiteful. I’ve played all of them and they are pretty fun

This has been one of my favorite expansions yet. You may not know how to create your deck yet...maybe.
So far my favourite deck is.... Spell hunter, which uses like one new card.
Yeah it's been pretty shit, after such well executed expansions like kobolds and ungoro.
and why is there no promised dungeon run??

yeah
Cubelock also lost Nzoth too.
