Ok, so there I am playing control priest at rank 18. And im up against this mage. He has the exodia pieces in his deck, but he has no quest.
Hmm....odd. Maybe he's just new or something.
He plays a Leyline Manipulator. No big deal, alright. 5 or 6 turns later, he Simulacrums and plays another Leyline Manipulator then hits me with a Sorcerer's Apprentice + Zola the Gorgon. Then the game stands still for me. He still emotes to me, it looks like he is playing cards, but I am stuck with the rope burning and a floating card. The game is indefinitely stuck this way until I force close my game and this cheater gets away with a win.
Seriously blizz? I feel like this exploit has been in the game and this is my first time experiencing it. It hurts even more when you can't even report the cheater (because he glitched your game and you cant get his battletag via the friend's list.)

Jesus Christ dude, before calling someone a cheater, use your brain please. You just had connection problems, that is all.
Agreed. It's just connection issues, not an exploit. You can even try out the combo for yourself, if doesn't freeze your opponent's game. Would've recommended you to do some research before making a thread about it. Anyways it's just 1 game, so move on to the next.
It could be far worse than you realize. This exploit is a variant of the wanna-cry trojan horse virus and is unparalleled in its destructive capability. Other, more well-known viruses such as Stoned, Airwolf, and Michaelangelo pale in comparison to the prospects of this newest creation by a warped mentality. Once a computer is infected, one of several things can happen. If the computer contains a hard drive, that will most likely be destroyed. If the program is not stopped, the computer's processor will be placed in an nth-complexity infinite binary loop - which can severely damage the processor if left running that way too long. Unfortunately, most novice computer users will not realize what is happening until it is far too late. Good luck man.
Seriously, floating card and never-ending rope mean your connection is just bad.

For everyone making comments like this, I was on a perfect wired connection. Don't jump to conclusions like you know it all. This is a known exploit using a specific combo of cards to DC your opponent.

C.H.E.A.T.E.R. end of story.
What is that?
perfect wired connection
WHAT IS THAT?
I got google fiber and I still experience packet loss sometimes. Did Elon Musk build you internet 2.0 in your basement or something? Did you bribe 4chan deep-web hack-lords with bitcoins to shut down the local node to all traffic except you?

You play the Antonidas the next turn with 2 copies of 0 Mana and the one 2 mana Sorcerer's Apprentice, then Molten Reflection for 1 mana, Archmage Antonidas for 7, exactly 10 mana. One 0 mana spell and you start spamming your 0 mana cost fireballs.
But if you want to see if it is an exploit just add me (EU) since i have all the cards that you said and you can prove that's true or not.
EDIT: looks like Homer_Simpson beat me to it. Also, his way using only 1 Molten Reflection makes more sense. But I guess having multiple ways to complete the combo makes it easier to pull off.
The Zola the Gorgon way would be useful when you have 2 drawn Sorcerer's Apprentice in hand but no Molten Reflection. You'll have to drop 1 to get the extra copy, but then you can drop 3 for zero mana and 1 for 2 mana, saving 8 mana for Antonidas and whatever else spell to start the Fireball chain. Probably not the best way, but it works when you don't draw Molten Reflection and have all the other pieces.

It's a disconnect. Doesn't matter how good your internet is, it happens sometimes. You are stuck and a turn never seems to end. They did not cheat, it's something I've seen a couple of times in the few thousand games I've played.
There was an actual exploit a long time ago. I forget the combination, but if you played the cards in the right order, it would crash out the game giving you a win. They fixed it fairly quickly. It was some hunter deck if I remember correctly.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
In a slightly unrelated note to the OPs ridiculous (non)problem, is this exodia mage better, worse, or the same than the quest exodia mage. I am really curious.

The dragon make the rope in start of the turn and x2 warlock spell give 2 damage in start of opponent turn, when animations finishing the turn already over...

There was one with infinite Shadow Visions (one discovering the other, for 0 mana due to double Radiant Elemental). Disguised Toast got a short ban for showing that exploit on his Twitch stream.
There used to be bugs with floating cards a long time ago. Those would happen mostly with discover effects though and sometimes the turn timer would also stop, so the first player to get impatient and quit the game would lose. I don't think there was a reliable way to trigger them.
The EU Battle.net servers went into maintenance mode about 1.5-2 hours ago, so maybe this weirdness was a result of a server-side malfunction. In any case, I don't think you should accuse your opponent of cheating unless you have very compelling evidence for it.
By the way, Hearthstone can now resume games in progress, so if your client freezes, you can kill its process and quickly login again to complete your match.

That's only for friendly matches, not normal ones. It's important because 'friendly match' is how tournaments are played effectively fixing the discon issue in all tournaments via a wait timer. Doesn't apply here though I don't think.
As far as the OP, it's never a good idea to flat out assume that it's an exploit. Most cases like this end up being connection issues, and yes unless the fusing of Zues, Shiva, and Monika built your connection from the fires of Mordor (or if you're Korean and what I heard of their connection is true) discons can still happen to you.
If you smell foul play, best to write a post but come at it saying "I just had these cards played then suddenly disconnect.. just checking is it my connection or are others seeing this?" The one time this turned out to be an exploit THAT kind of post was what started it and it was followed by a mass of others reporting the same issue since exploits tend to go viral very quickly. in this case we would've went "oh we know that combo. I've seen it done/done it with no issues."

Reconnecting works for ladder matches too, but on ladder the game isn't paused when one player disconnects, so you have to be back quickly or you'll have lost a turn or you'll be timed out.

Send a ticket. Floating card exploit is an oldie.

So I very much doubt that this is a glitch/known exploit, but disregarding all that, you do know there is exodia mage without quest?
The combo comes from using 2 Simulacrums and getting 2 Sorcerer's Apprentice. Leyline Manipulator would reduce their cost to zero. After, you drop Archmage Antonidas, the two 0 mana cost Sorcerer's Apprentices, and then use 2 Molten Reflections for 2 mana and 1 mana respectively. Then Fireball face.
I guess you could also get another 0 cost Sorcerer's Apprentice with Zola the Gorgon.

This is weird, did the game "froze" when he was casting the fireballs?
This thread is solid gold.
