First of all, I'd like to explain that this comes from a POV of loving hearthstone (allot) and wanting it to continue being successful. To me, I feel like there are a few things that team 5 do really badly, and they're causing, at least for myself, the disinterest in hearthstone, as time goes by, and I'm wondering if anyone can relate. The things are:
* Being late at responding to their player base via ACTIONS: I think people will find this to be the most apparent thing. Throughout the whole existence of hs, its developers always took their time with making game-changing decisions, to the point where they ALWAYS waited for the community to get REALLY frustrated, before they took any action. I've got a really simple question for this: Why? Why not prevent problems before they become unbearable for the community? Or, at least make changes before things get out of hand... I feel like they're relying too much on their raw data of what people are playing and win rates, and less on what's going on, on forums, everywhere. Although I do believe they're starting to learn, on that part, because they have stated that what people dislike the most is their most important factor into making changes, BUT it is still done WAY too late for anyone to be really content, and for people to be really discontent for a way too long time period.
* They're making meaningless content. Expansions are great, balance changes are great, events are great (but should happen much more often), tavern brawl is meh and dungeon runs are simply nice. The reason the dungeon runs are just "nice" is because they are simply a waste of time. YES, I know many people will say that something should be done purely for the enjoyment of it, but my counter argument is that when we're doing something, simply for the enjoyment, at least we should feel like the time we're spending is valuable. Usually, when people do something purely for their own enjoyment, is either because they must, or because, let's say, they're helping someone they love. But playing doing something, purely for enjoyment, through a digital card game - that doesn't feel to me like my time is valuable, if I choose to spend it that way. I want a sense of accomplishment, that is why I am a gamer, for the sense of accomplishment that games give, not ONLY for the pure fun of it, because my time is valuable to me. Maybe there should be monthly rewards for the amount of wins we have achieved in dungeon runs? That way the system can't be taken advantage of and also we don't feel like our time is not wisely spent.
* The game is becoming a bit too expensive. Of course, that is not team 5's fault, but it is a strong reason why I don't see myself playing this game In the long run. Yes, in order to reach legend, you can be f2p, manage to craft a tier 1 deck and head there, but what if you want to experience the deck building, the creative aspects of the game? You can't, you need most of the collection to do that, and with rotations every year and no adventure content anymore, it is just simply too expensive, at least for me, to experience THAT side of this card game. I wish time invested in this game would be more rewarded with gold/packs, because every moment I choose to spend on this game, is a moment I'm not doing anything else in with my time, that should be of value, in and of itself, and I want to be able to experience the deck building and creative aspect of this card game in the long run, and not have to pay too much money for it. What if, for every 10th hour of playing, we get 500 gold? That way, people who invest allot of time on hearthstone, and LOVE the game, can also feel like they're being properly rewarded for it, and not HAVE to be drawn to the financial aspect of it. Caring players should be rewarded, imo, by the game developers, and those who spend less time than that on the game, can simply buy packs, respectively.
* Lastly, the game's mechanics so far are just not complex enough. I've no problem with RNG as that also requires strong adaptive capabilities by players (except in arena), but the key words and mechanics in this game are just from one thing directly to another, there are no conditions, no sophisticated transactions, just "summon this, do that, etc", I mean, come on "If your deck has X" is not complex at all, and feels much too simple. Team 5, imho should start focusing on the players that have played this game for at least a few months now, because there are way more of them playing than those who just started, I'm sure of it. Also, it would definitely help the closeness of strong players and weak players, on ranks 25-10, because newer players will find it harder to play complex cards, thus the experienced ones will advance more up the ladder, respectively, because they will have more deck building options that new players just don't understand. This also follows team 5's philosophy that the basic and classic sets should be simpler than the newer ones.
Guys, this is not a hate thread or even a complaint thread, it's simply a feedback thread from my own POV. You're free to agree or disagree, but please control yourselves with the name calling.
I only disagree on the "meaningless content". In my opinion, the reward of beating dungeon runs is really poor and awful, but that doesn't mean this "adventure" is meaningless. It brings joy and challenge, that's enough for it to be ok.
Same goes for The Icecrown Citadel. Beating Lich King with nine different challenges is something hard to do, especially when you don't look for help online. For me it was rather fun to try my best, even when that meant failure. after that I looked for help :<
In the end content is not the issue, the rewards are.
You do have some valid points there, but the whole paragraph about making meaningless content is just pure nonsense (-at least to me^^).
As you might have guessed, I am one of those people you mentioned, who play games purely for the enjoyment and really don't need any rewards for doing so at all. In fact, playing the game IS the reward. If I don't enjoy an activity and only do it because I'm rewarded for it ... well, that's basically work - and I already have enough of that going on. :P Of course, you're entitled to having your own opinion, but at that point you don't like the game, you like being rewarded.
The simple solution for you here is just to limit yourself to the content that provides you with whatever goes by "enjoyment" according to your understanding, but claiming that Team 5 is killing the game by creating such content is just wrong. (I'm aware that it's kind of a clickbait-title, but still^^)

Don't take it personal but there always been threads complaining about how Team 5 is ruining the game and there'll always be. I just don't think Blizzard is killing Hearthstone. Threads like this is a part of succesful games.
Edit: I agree that the game is expensive (mainly because I live in Brazil and the majority of us can't afford 3 expansion a year) and I agree the game isn't complex enough, but this is on Blizz's purpose.
Hopefully the overwatch team got all the slackers from hearthstone with the employee transition. Let's see if there will be any significant improvements.

Everyone makes it seem like they wait soooo long to make changes. It's literally been two months since the release of K&C. Unless you're talking about the change to Patches and Razakus. I personally think changing things up every two months is perfectly fine. I know it's a completely different game, but I kinda gave up on League of Legends, for example, because too much was changing all the time and I couldn't keep up with it haha.
The one change that I personally have cried myself to sleep about, though, is the stupid Doomguard. I've hated that card since the dawn of time (played since before GvG, so I've dealt with zoolock for what feels like my entire life). Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who gets frustrated by that card lol, but oh well.
Anyways, I think they're doing alright. The game will inevitably go through high points and low points, but I think it'll be okay. As far as cost goes, I used to have a problem pre-ordering 50 packs, but when I really started to think about it... There are many games that I will buy brand new, then play for only a week lol. At least I know I'll get my money value out of this game. That's just my opinion though.

Edit: it pisses me off to no end that whiners made them destroy Patches and Raza, 2 cards that were fantasticly made.
Patches was a fine card I think. I still think overrated in the community haha (although Prince Keleseth did make him quite a bit stronger, but even then you needed Prince draw very early on). Raza is mostly balanced now I would say. Raza just had way too much synergy with Shadowreaper Anduin. I think a nerf to Anduin dk would have been better. I'm not sure how, but I think he deserves the nerf more than Raza did.

Y’all need to like at games like LoL, Overwatch, and hell even Monster Hunter:World before you complain about innefficient developers. That being said, I welcome back our Jade Druid Overlords for the remaining 2 months...
and instead of catching clickbaiting headlines that don't even cite/link their sources, you learn to read data and go through the official financial reports that are made public, by the company, to keep stakeholders interests up. After you do that you will come to realize that this is nothing but an sensational title made to catch clicks.
I disagree about the "meaningless content" and mechanics. I regularly spend my time playing ridiculous decks that have really high skill caps (Big Rogue, Togwaggle Druid, Dead Man's Mine Warrior) and I find that the innate mechanics of certain cards (not things like divine shield or taunt) are what make the decks complex and fun to play. I often play decks that I don't have daily quests for or don't envision myself winning many ranked wins with just for the pure enjoyment of the game. I loved the dungeon runs and think they were one of the most thoughtful and creative additions to the game. I haven't run one since I finished off my last hero but I will probably do it again in the future. I could've sworn that Blizz said there would be a daily quest associated with them but I haven't managed to get it yet.
Blizzard can't make changes all the time. To do so would confuse players as cards are constantly changing and it would increase the amount of feel bad moments where a player spends a bunch of dust to make a deck only for it to get nerfed shortly after. Add to that the element of HCT and that if they are re-balancing cards often it will mess up hours and hours of testing pros do to gear up for major events.
Blizzard has to serve all of its players (casual and competitive) with the changes they make and that means they need to not only do their due diligence to investigate the data and take into account player feedback (keep in mind just like online reviews, those who are negative will outweigh positive feedback as those who are happy or indifferent generally don't voice it on social media/forums), but also properly explore the effects those changes will create and also re-program and iterate those changes so they aren't bugged, which takes time when you're dealing with numerous different platforms the game exists on.
I don't think any content Blizzard makes for Hearthstone is pointless and since it is a free to play game, it is your choice how invested you wish to get. If you choose not to spend a dime, then don't expect to be lavished with tons of rewards. You get to play an incredibly polished and fun game at no cost. Right off the bat that is better than most games you could be playing. The fact they do give out all the free stuff they do is just gravy. Adding things like Dungeon Run and spending the time to create the single player modes for each set release are free content that we used to have to pay for with Adventures. Sure, Adventures were cost effective in terms of the legendaries you got for your money, but the way it works now you get to enjoy the solo content without having to spend any money. That's a fair trade-off in my opinion.

Sir, first of all, you are taking every point I make and turn it in to its extreme meaning.
1. I never said Blizzard should make changes all the time, lol.
2. I never said or suggested in any way the f2p players should be lavished with tons of rewards.
As for your other points, which come from your own subjective opinion, just as mine comes from my own subjective opinion, I do think dungeon runs and tavern brawls to be meaningless content, and I fully respect everyone's right to disagree.
For your point about me being "lucky" to have a free game that I can play, I'd like to enlighten you on something, my friend, that is the exact kind of mentality that AAA games pry upon, from consumers and players, in order to make more money. We are doing THEM a service by playing their game, WE are the customers, never give up the respect you deserve as the person who gives life and meaning to the very game they made, THEY'RE the lucky ones to have us, never forget that, or you will be taken advantage of, every single time, by businesses. The reason they give out "free" packs or the reason they made the dungeon runs free of charge, or the icecrown citadel, is solely to keep you from jumping ship and try out a different game, THAT'S IT, they don't do it off the goodness of their hearts, they don't care about your happiness more than they do about making more money.
If you are about to take part in an intellectual discussion, at least try to comment on what the other person is actually saying, and not what you want them to say in order to make your points look better. :)

I feel like they're relying too much on their raw data of what people are playing and win rates, and less on what's going on, on forums, everywhere.
One thing to note on that is the players on the forums make up only a very small fraction of total players. Opinions on the forums may not reflect the opinions of the playerbase as a whole.
Honestly this was a fine thread where a player who clearly cares more than most of the charlatans responding to him about HS took some time to express his opinions on the game. Idk why some people here get so defensive and opinionated I swear.
I think if anything the title of this thread is a bit insinuating about some of HS's problems. I think the HS experience isn't "killed" solely by Team 5, but the interaction of Team 5 and the HS community. Voices in this community are particularly loud, so people mistakenly conflate the opinions of a select few with the satisfaction of the player base at large. I would agree however that reaction time from Team 5 lags, and does not appropriately answer community concerns with rational and timely responses.
I kind of agree with the "meaningless content" part, but more so for dungeon runs than tavern brawls. The only reason I'm still working on dungeon runs is bc of the card back or the occasional Spelunker quest, otherwise I don't see any point in doing it only to not receive any gold or any way to improve my game experience. In games, I like to feel incentive or at least encouraged to keep trying something. After I got Arthas I haven't touched the KFT adventure, for example. Part of why tavern brawls can be fun though is bc they are transient. The fact that it changes is what makes that game mode more exciting.

You're misunderstanding my point about Blizzard not being able to make changes more than they currently do. What I'm saying is that they HAVE to take their time. There are consequences to any change they make that can affect players who aren't like us on forums keeping up with the pulse of the game. They have to think things through before making any changes. The changes come at the pace they do because Blizzard has to look at situations from many angles as they relate to their business. I wish the meta was always fun and enjoyable, but I think if they acted faster to correct their mistakes it would be to the game's detriment.
You say you want to be rewarded for your time investment in the game. To that I say, the game itself and the enjoyment you receive from it is the reward, just like any other game. You don't have to spend any money playing Hearthstone and your investment level in it is your own prerogative. If you go and spend $60 on some other AAA title that comes out, like say a Zelda, Final Fantasy or Halo, what is your reward for playing? The reward is the entertainment and enjoyment in the story and/or the competition with others. Those games give you nothing in terms of rewards like those Hearthstone gives out. Hearthstone literally gives you rewards with cash value for playing. On top of that you have to pay money just to play most other games out there in the first place.
I don't dispute that Blizzard should want to keep players (as any company should), whether that person pays money or not. The more people that play their game the more money they'll make; yes that's what businesses do. However, you're taking a cynical outlook and asking to be compensated for your time like it's some kind of job to play their game. I don't feel "taken advantage" of by Blizzard (as you state you feel in your original post) considering, again, my monetary and time investment is of my own choosing.
I disagree with the cards being to simple, that kind of seems like a petty thing to complain about, and the reason hearthstone is so popular is because it is simple, and simple it shall stay.
I do agree with them being a little late with changes, i do not want a change every week but maybe an extra 2-3 changes a year would be nice,
And as a f2p player I agree with it bieng expensive/difficult to acquire cards, I think that if they made it so that all quests would give 100 gold to a maximum of 1 quest a day, and made them harder and more interesting to complete and took away the 3 wins for 10 gold, than the game would be better, because you would pretty much garuntee a pack a day and there would not be so much grinding for gold.

Your post was read and your opinion is valued.
Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
