Awesome idea with double ragshot with pixie. Something I've wanted to tech into the variant I play if I owned it is Tinkmaster Overspark, specifically for cube. Think it might be better over Ironbeak Owl?

posted a message on What Decks survive rotation? What will new tier list look like?

I would be cautious speculating only because we really have no idea what types of decks can arise. I don't think a single person predicted Cubelock to become a thing even when all the cards were revealed.

Ifyou're looking to craft decks to play until the exp drops without later regrets , I would just craft the decks that have the least cards rotating out like Dudeadin and Cubelock.

posted a message on Opinion: Team 5 is killing hearthstone (unintentionally...)

Honestly this was a fine thread where a player who clearly cares more than most of the charlatans responding to him about HS took some time to express his opinions on the game. Idk why some people here get so defensive and opinionated I swear.

I think if anything the title of this thread is a bit insinuating about some of HS's problems. I think the HS experience isn't "killed" solely by Team 5, but the interaction of Team 5 and the HS community. Voices in this community are particularly loud, so people mistakenly conflate the opinions of a select few with the satisfaction of the player base at large. I would agree however that reaction time from Team 5 lags, and does not appropriately answer community concerns with rational and timely responses.

I kind of agree with the "meaningless content" part, but more so for dungeon runs than tavern brawls. The only reason I'm still working on dungeon runs is bc of the card back or the occasional Spelunker  quest, otherwise I don't see any point in doing it only to not receive any gold or any way to improve my game experience. In games, I like to feel incentive or at least encouraged to keep trying something. After I got Arthas I haven't touched the KFT adventure, for example. Part of why tavern brawls can be fun though is bc they are transient. The fact that it changes is what makes that game mode more exciting.

Your post was read and your opinion is valued.

posted a message on Should Exodia Mage be nerfed?

I've been playing quest mage almost exclusively and its matchups are very polarized. You almost always lose to pirates and hunters, but you almost always win vs jade druid and priest. I can definitely see how it is frustrating for other people to play against, but I can also say the deck is very fun to play. Part of the reason I can barely withstand this meta is bc I have so much fun learning the quest mage deck and crushing jade druids with it. Not every game is the same, as sometimes you have to play to your outs and YOLO finish the quest, or if they milled a combo piece you have to look for your alternate win conditions (time warp smash face with sorc apprentices) and prepare for that plan.

I don't think it needs a nerf bc as many people have said, Ice Block is almost guaranteed to be sent to Hall of Fame at the beginning of next year. It also doesn't have a huge influence on the meta right now.

Also something I have noticed is that some people just do not know how to play against the deck. Don't play dirty rat early. Don't trade into my minions if you know I'm probably going to trade for you in order to survive. Let me worry about managing my board space for my combo. Make it harder for me to manage my resources.

So, sorry if Quest Mage drives you insane. But it keeps the players who play the deck, like myself, SANE lol.

posted a message on How to beat Druid with Murlocadin?

I was swinging between rank 2, back to 5, and now I'm back to 3, entirely with murlocadin.

You basically need to get the murloc train going as fast as possible and pray they can't get a swing turn with UI (and oh they definitely can UI bc of their insane ramp with innervate and other bs when you're only on like turn 5). What really sucks is if you muligan for murlocs and you drop the righteous protector, you will most likely lose vs aggro druid. I think double grim is the way to go in this meta but let's be real the only way to really do well in the meta is to play druid :/

posted a message on What to dust?

Here's a guide for some legendaries.

    https://disguisedtoast.com/articles/289-cards-safe-to-disenchant

I wouldn't say the guide is completely safe though. Beardo, Mukla Tyrant, Hogger, The Vorraxx, and HoF cards may see fringe play or if you play wild you definitely wouldn't want to dust those HoF legendaries.

Just ask yourself if a card will almost certainly never see play in standard. Are the vanilla stats okay or are they trash? Does the effect have potential or is the effect too niche/too hard to set up for combos etc.

I'm f2p so I know the struggle for dust, but I'm also in the camp that you shouldn't dust things unless you are absolutely certain you will never play that card or see no potential for the future in that card. Dust wisely!

Tell us something about you: I have been playing since TGT. I am almost entirely F2P, so if you're F2P too we will get along just fine riding the struggle bus. I hit legend once recently and am hoping to push for it more often, but I usually get at least rank 5 every month. I am mostly a Standard player but I dabble in Wild occasionally. Always down to help new players!

posted a message on [STANDARD] Headed for Legend! - S38 May 2017

Thought I should post here to document my first time legend. I'm also F2P, but have been around since pre-LoE so my collection is respectable enough where I have enough cards to play a few meta decks without getting bored.

From rank 5-3 I used Quest warrior w/ 1 primordial drake and I cut curator. It was solid up until I hit a wall of mages and I had to think about what could fare okay vs them. I added shield blocks and 1 shield slam to bring myself out of burst range, but I wasn't gaining much progress. After a game where a gunther mage burned me over 2 turns from 17 sitting comfortably behind their bs ice block to prevent my lethal, I felt it was better for me to just switch to a deck that was better against mages overall.

I switched to MR hunter and finally hit legend about 8 days ago. I tech'd in a Hungry Crab, 2 crawlers (however, crawlers may have been unnecessary as I barely hit any pirate warriors along the way), and the mvp The Black Knight.

Along the way I think what helped in getting there for myself anyway was winning some of the unfavored matchups and not relying on queuing into your good matchups, staying positive, and knowing when to just take a break. After playing an unfavored matchup, win or lose, I waited a minute before queuing again so I wouldn't run into the same person. I dropped ranks multiple times so the climb wasn't all downhill to 1, believe me. The climb from 3-1 was the hardest, but 1-legend went more smoothly. You face some legend players at 1 who play meme decks and are usually easier to beat than the people at your current rank.

Good luck to all who are trying to make that final push!

posted a message on Shaman players, what cards make you want to kill yourselves?

Any mage burn, pyroblast in particular. Even with the amount of heals control shaman can have, mage never has a large enough board to take advantage of hallazeal. Your board is either terribly weak to mage board clears or your large minions are far too susceptible to other mage burn. It's hard enough to keep up minion pressure, but to top off their advantage with ice block just takes the cake, giving them another turn to burn your face down.

posted a message on Vanish, is it the problem card?

I think in your specific matchup, Vanish is the problem card. In my experience quest rogue will just pump out their 5/5s faster than a control/midrange deck can consistently clear the board, and would in that way not necessitate a Vanish turn. The fact dragon priest can discover dragonfire with shadow visions grants the ability to clear the 5/5 swarms 2+ times, which is more than say a control paladin or a control shaman could do (although is still reliant on getting those draws, hence the matchup is still favorable for quest rogue), and allows priest to have that dedicated clear for quest rogue to tame the board more reliably. I'm coming from mainly control shaman experience, and I am usually unable to establish board until very late in the game so I understand it is very big difference from minion-centric priest decks, but you get the point. Unfortunately I can't think of a way the priest can play around this, but I guess this is the nature of such a polarizing meta.

Also not sure how the vanish turns went for you, but I assume they prep+vanish on the games you lost. In that sense, maybe prep is the main offender in that it cheats mana and produces more insane turns than could have been possible.
