A handful of minions have awful stat lines and they don't seem like powerhouses to me and lack board presence. The recruit mechanic just seems bland to me as well. Am i just being an Idiot?

The only thing I agree on is these awful stats. The only minions that are overstatted are the Shaman legend 6 mana 7/7 and the 4 mana 5/6 dragon. So many cards are just to counter evolve shaman (look at the 9 mana minions for instance).
But for the rest of the expansion: legendary weapons for everyone! Rogue secrets, the "Unidentified" mechanic seems pretty cool and the "gain a bonus in your hand" mechanic and "upgrade" mechanic too!
Saying RNG isn't detracting from skill in hearthstone, won't convince anyone it's a good idea. It just shows your too stupid to understand the basics principles of good game design.
I just got a bad feeling it's gonna be full blown Prieststone. It's bad enough as it is, and next week .. it's gets worse. Hell, even VS is predicting Prieststone now on DataReaper.
And what are they gonna do? Nerf it now, after the months of bitching about it, and even closer to the cards rotating out ... doubt it. I'm not even sure how they could nerf it at this point.

You don't have to be hyped, there is nothing wrong with that.
To be honest I'm in gray if it comes to hype: - most legendaries won't be played, because the majority of people want to win, not have fun; - dungeon runs? hell yeah! I can finally do something else besides playing against meta decks when I have some spare time.
Were you ever hyped to begin with? If you were not then I have no answers for you. If you were, you could be in fatigue mode after 2 weeks of 'every other hour' reveals. I'm still exited for all the shenanigans that were introduced in this expansion especially because I play wild mode too! I must admit the fatigue is setting in for me because I'm not quite as exited as I was a week ago. There are a lot of good things going on in this expansion, but there are some really crappy things too. Team 5 might want to rethink the reveal schedule so we are not 'burned out' by the time the expansion hits.
I can see not feeling the hype because the banner mechanic (recruit) seems only so-so and their are a lot of weird cards that don't have obvious fits in current meta decks. But, and it's a big but, this set seems to be full of a lot of very fascinating and complex mechanics on cards. That's the sort of thing that is hype worthy if you like experimenting (or watching streamers and youtubers experiment with new decks and interactions).
No, everyone has their preferences for what they want to see out of the game. I am looking forward to a number of the cards, including the rogue legendaries and some of the meme or combo worthy cards.
However, I can see how it would look disappointing to somebody else. There are plenty of bad meme cards, not fun just bad (See "To My Side"). Also, some of the class weapons are seem terrible and I'm unsure why they gave only some of the weapons removal-protection (such as the druid & rogue ones, but not others). People seem to hype up the mage weapon, but I really don't see why you would want to keep drawing 3 cards every turn. Unless you can also play 3 cards every turn then you're just going to start milling yourself if your opponent leaves it up.
It also feels like Team 5 is pushing more Freeze Shaman archtypes that if they aren't going to receive further support, similar to how Freeze Shaman was abandoned after one expansion, than these weak archtypes are merely taking up precious space that could be taken up by better cards/synergies.
In the end though I am somewhat excited for the expansion.
3 expansion a year is a mistake for a design team this lacking in fresh ideas. Its just a cash grab, and with the constant nerfing, it's not worth playing unless you go all in and pay.
Then I guess that we shouldn't listen to Trump and Amaz's card reviews?
I can think of very few streamers who are actually very accurate when it comes to card reviews. They may get the obvious ones right, but the ones they get wrong, they get VERY wrong.

While this is true the player community is no better than streamers when they rate cards.
Remember, a good portion of the player community thought the rogue quest & priest DK were either sub-par or outright bad.

Probably just brainwashed by Saltstoner pessimism. This expac is one of the coolest so far.
Get hyped man. If 'To My Side!' doesn't excite you I don't know what will
I agree, but there's so much more to the expansion that I think it's worth it
Don't mind me just passing by
Nope.

I guess it depends also on your preferred classes.
As a Rogue main, i've never been so hyped.
Many other classes also received major support for some of their archetypes.
Recruit is not very exciting, because it is meant to be that way, otherwise it'd be broken. There are good recruit cards tho, just not so many.
Skull of the Man'ari
Play this on T5. See the opponent emote: "Thank you" and proceed to play Harrison Jones. Best weapon ever.
It's gonna be a funny expansion
So many legendaries are just meme cards
What more can a man need?
Well when you don't know how strong keseleth is you probably don't know the potential of cards.

Also, Dungeon Run!!!!
