Been thinking about what HS has added since I have played the game (Fall 2014) and have thought about things that could be added but haven't...
Why are there no...
legendary spells?
Neutral spells?
Secrets and weapons for all classes?
Yet Blizzard has created mechanics for "stealing" class cards so "class carry over" is certainly something they aren't afraid of (although, yes stealing is RNG based so it can't be controlled and abused)
Just wondering what things you would like to see changed in HS. Nothing? Everything? How about emote options...that could be fun.
Some sort of a ban system, I personaly reallyyy hate Jade Mechanic, Secret Paladins, Renos and Alextraza. Being able to ban 1 of those archtypes would be really refreshing to a lot of people.
I agree that there should be legendary spells, but neutrals would be incredibly hard to balance and would most likely be underwhelming.
The reason for secrets and weapons are to set the classes apart and give each one a different identity.
What would be great are some more game modes, even if they weren't competitive.
Why is there STILL no 2v2? Why no tournament mode?
I would personally love to see a dedicated quest/story line that makes hearthstone feel like there is more to accomplish than just winning each individual game. Something much longer than the adventures they release that has a "big picture" feel to it.
Maybe they could make a long line of quest for each class that would be hard to accomplish and at the end of it you receive the legendary class spell?

So basically, ban any deck that you don't beat by turn 5?

When I die, I want to go peacefully and in my sleep like my Grandpa. Not yelling and screaming like the passengers in his car.
Achievements would be nice. Tournaments too. And lately I'd love to see Gadgetzan Auctioneer deleted from the game, even more than I'd love to see Arcanite reaper at1 durability

Remember playing Control Shaman with Reincarnate shenanigans? No? It was fun, here's a refresher!
Class identity, any class can use neutral minion to fight for it, but each class has its own identity and the spells it can cast are tied to this identity,
Also class identity, a Warrior is supposed to be a fighter, he takes his axe and SMOrc you in the face, a Mage is sneaky, he uses a secret trick to lure you, a Hunter needs both weapons and tricks to hunt, tricking its prey with traps and finish it with his bow
I'm dreaming to see a "auto-squelch" opponent in the options, it is so fucking easy to implement (but we don't have the technology) and would prevent me from tilting when I forget to squelch a fucking mage when he keeps his mouth shut all the game because of the pressure and when he top deck that fucking ... errr ... I'm going to keep that for the salt thread

Seriously??? Secret Paladin isn't used, Jade is completely new, Reno is just now being used a lot, and "Alextraza" isn't an archetype, it's just a card you rarely see. How would banning those be refreshing? All it would do is just create another strong deck which the community would then call "cancer"/
Spells disappear once they are used, it takes a lot to become Legendary, and ah ah ah ah staying alive there once you are summoned is one of them
Could you elaborate on this? I have zero idea what you're trying to say. It's not like perfectly mechanically and thematically appropriate legendary spell concepts are difficult to envision.

That's the explanation they've given, but it leave me unsatisfied. There's no reason there couldn't be neutral spells that don't step on the toes of classes' existing identities. Again, like Legendary Spells, it's really not that difficult to envision.
There's really no cohesive reason for either of these than "just because", so there's no reason they couldn't change in the future.

The reason why legendary spells wouldn't make sense isn't because of the fact that they're spells, meaning that they could be cast multiple times. The idea of a legendary is that there's only one of it, that's why they're named characters, but with a legendary spell it wouldn't make sense to not be able to put two in your deck. So basically, the problem is that a spell is repeatable, and anyone with the right qualifications and knowledge could learn that spell, but it'd be impossible for you to become a specific character, so there's only one of that character.
Edit: Also, on the idea of neutral spells, it could actually work out. My though on how would be that they'd be items from the game, like potions or things that every class in WoW can purchase and use.
The biggest reason I can think of avoiding legendary / neutral spells is to have Dr. Boom syndrome all over again, the same cards that are used by all. I don't want to go back to the days where having Big Game Hunter and Ironbeak Owl was a necessity.
Personally, all I want from HS would be more play modes, just to shake things up a little. Random example: A mode where every match is a best of 3, and you have access to a sideboard. I guess you can call that a tournament mode, but I don't need it to feel like an event where you try to climb to the top. I just want regular matches, no different than the usual ladder, except that it's a best of 3 and you have a sideboard.
Heroes should have +1 Thorns by default: That is to say that any minion that attacks a Hero should take 1 HP of damage. This fixes most of the problems the game has like brainless face decks, brainless face decks and of course, brainless face decks.

Still not sure if I hate Hearthstone...or love it.

Not exactly needed, but it would be cool to see a new class.

Deck-ban +1 (Choose 2 decks of different classes to Play. Your opponent bans one of them. You play the other.)
Garrisons/Strongholds ... (same/similar mechanic as Enchantments in MtG)

If you got the coin, the Mercenaries get going. Vote for The Mercenary for CCC #3.
