Happy Season 7 Finale!
Man, time flies. Another set of 20 Weekly Card Design Competitions has been served up, and now it's time to select which winning shot was an ace. Does that make any sense? I started a tennis metaphor there for some reason and I felt like I needed to follow through with it. Whatever, y'all know the drill, vote for your favourite winner from this season above!
In the mean time, we have our regularly scheduled mini-competitions running throughout the two weeks that this poll will be up. As usual, there will be one day for submission and discussion, followed by an hour for upvoting (and to give us some space to breathe) and then the remaining 23 hours for a final poll. Don't stress too hard about these competitions, they're the fun silly ones at the end where we all can relax.
Mini-Competition #1 - Season's Feedings - Submission - Discussion - Final Poll
Mini-Competition #2 - Burns of a Feather - Submission - Discussion - Final Poll
Mini-Competition #3 - Numerical Knives - Submission - Discussion - Final Poll
Mini-Competition #4 - The Wonderful 111 - Submission - Discussion - Final Poll
Mini-Competition #5 - We Forgot To Make One - Submission - Discussion - Final Poll
Mini-Competition #6 - Just Stonebrew Of Us - Submission - Discussion - Final Poll
Now, here is where we usually tell you the plan for next Season. Season 8 will be happening... some time this summer. We usually take at least a week or two off after the Finale ends to give us mods some time to plan and rest, so hopefully we'll see Season 8 starting towards the end of June. We'll update you if anything changes in that regard. The next Big Competition might be a very interesting one if we manage to sort out all the kinks in the idea, so hopefully you'll enjoy that!
Click on each Winner to see the Final Poll for the competition it won.
Take note that some of the finalists will have extra cards as part of their submission, whether because the competition required more than one card to enter, or because they had tokens as part of their card. All extra cards can be viewed in a spoiler below.

I know I haven't won one these competitions, but I have enjoyed this season's design competitions. All the best to the finalists.
My Entry for this week's Card Design Competition - Season 8.16:
Gonna vote for Anna here, would eventually like to see a hunter dragon hero down the road in the game.
This was a great season with some fantastic cards! All the best to everyone who participated.

Great Season 7 and awesome theme to end it! Waiting for the next one :)
(Also want to point out that Loyal Companion is not just Omega Alpha broken, but was made for an arena competition, where the cards were meant to be broken.)
I want a new title, but Flux won't let me have one,

I didn't check this competition for like 10 weeks during the middle of this season. The winners of some weeks have only less than 30 votes. What happened?
THERE IS NO GAME.

Good thing I just won with Skilled Grafter cause Helm of Domination isn't a "norma"l card and unlikely to win.
Will do a global review Soon(TM).
Custom cards :
CLASSES : Alchemist (CCC#5 | Phase V) | Chef (CCC#4)
EXPANSIONS : Year of the Scorpion (Year Comp)
So, with Maraton of Immortality from Griftah, I can't be killed by summons of Death Knigt Uther?
Yes, it technically has a very-niche gameplay purpose: you would be immune to alternative win conditions like Uther of the Ebon Blade's Hero Power.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
"A Quiet Night" by biggerbossman is an obvious choice for me.
Would be amazing if it makes the gameboard a bit darker.
honestly with all these great cards I would want to vote more differentiated. Maybe each card in categories like for example fun, flavour and clever . It might be a bit too long of a voting process though..Idk.
I love how the differences in opinion about cards can tell you a lot about how experienced that player is.
New player: (Sees Gruul, Nat Pagle, Prince Malchezaar, Emeriss, Anub'arak, Sherazin, Corpse Flower, Twig of the World Tree, etc.) "Wow! That sounds like a really good card!"
Experienced player: (Sees 1 mana 2/2) "OMG WTF BLIZ SO BROKEN OMEGALUL ISFGFILDHFYy^tf*&yUBFYF"
(P.S. also, imagine if "A Quiet Night" actually put the game into nighttime. Music would stop, crickets chirping, blue-tinted moonlight, the little things in life)
Dragon Tamer Anna is really adding some new gameplay.

How I rate cards
I rate cards by using 4 criteria, weighted differently :
This gives the card a rating from 0 to 10.
NOTE: To give everyone a fair rating, I will try (as much as I can) to evaluate the card within the theme it was made for. A card that is awesome for a given theme can suck in another (Loyal Companion says hi).
Don't take bad ratings personnaly pls
TL;DR ratings
From best to worst, not listing my own cards. Unlike last season, there is no cards I really don't like this time.
7.01 Evermore Raven
6/10
I didn't notice during 7.01, but this card is actually OP as fuck. Casting two Swipes, two Mark of the Lotus, two Wild Growth or two Ultimate Infestations (aaargh) is actually OP as fuck. IMO the card's effect should have been limited to this turn (for the cast twice option) and next turn (for the counter option). Apart from this, it's a nice card.
7.02 Hibernation
9/10
An interesting and well-rounded card. Noting much else to say! The only issue is the art, it could have simply been a sleeping beast (I know at least one for WoW).
7.03 Helm of Domination
99999999999999999999/10 vote for it fuckers
Seriously though, I want to point out that the theme for that week was to make a Death Knight, Ysera, Marin or Elite Tauren Chieftan card to be added to the roster of cards they already generate. In other words, HoD can only be obtained from The Lich King[/car]/[card]Arfus. Don't freak out!
7.04 Zombified Taxidermist
6.5/10
Gameplay-wise this is hard to evaluate. On the one hand, you get a free and potentially awesome Zombeast. On the other hand, your opponent will probably craft the worst crap he can figure out. Also, Hunter is a class that needs to snowball from its early game to win, and a 3/1 with no immediate effect (and potentially no effect at all) doesn't do this compared to e.g. Crackling Razormaw. I don't think this could see play even with different stats.
Still has 2/2 balance because it is balanced in a vaccum (just as Bloodfen Raptor is balanced in a vacuum) but within HS context it's too weak.
Flavor is nice though. Props on that.
7.05 Spiritspeaker Azun
5.5/10
Although the base concept (deathrattle slot machine) is nice, it is way too weak and way too slow to see play. It has the same issue as Confessor Paletress. Otherwise OK card.
7.06 Midas, the Gold-Cursed
6/10
The flavor of this is off the charts. Even though Midas is obviously not a WoW character, he could be.
Gameplay-wise though it's a 5mana Maexxna. The lost board space will only matter in a few fringe cases. Even swarm decks typically don't use all 7 slots.
Also that text box. AAAARGH
7.07 The Trap Room
3.5/10
It's the first card I don't like. The reward and the quest seem to not go together. Secret Hunter are aggro/midrange. The reward is obviously more control-oriented, but isn't inpactful enough as a control card (on top of all issues "Control Hunter" has of course, notably lack of card draw).
Flavor is alright but given the theme there wasn't much margin on that level.
7.08 Waxed Lord
8/10
An excellent card! I don't think it would see play in the current meta, but this is a card with the potential to create a new variant of SHR paladin. It's also a good body and a tech card against aggro decks. GJ
7.09 Treasure Hunter
4.5/10
Probably the blandest card from all winners out there. I blame the very restrictive theme (I know I said I would take it into account...but there are limits). Also the art is Yrel, it feels weird.
7.10 Broll Bearmantle
7/10
The base concept is nice, original and also very flavorful (druid who sleeps, etc). However when I look at this what I see is a worse Gruul (and THAT'S saying something). Sure you can save it for the super late game but if your opponent doesn't have a single-digit IQ he'll keep a removal for it.
Still a 7/10 for the effort.
7.11 Loyal companion
6.5/8 (= 8.125/10)
gratz on your first legin win lel
I don't play arena so I skipped the balance rating on this one (I guess it would be an autopick, which is the point, but is it OP?). Even then, it's hard to evaluate because the theme basically forced us to do something simple. I settled on 8.125, which actually makes it a pretty good card.
7.12 A Quiet Night
5/10
A nice application of the Echo concept, but that's it. I don't see any particular uses for this card even in Miracle Rogue. It's just so fringe and situational...
7.13 Edward the Odd
5/7 (~7.14/10)
I skipped the effort rating due to the card's similarity with Loyal Companion. This is an alright card that would make Odd Paladin more consistent, though Odd Paladin is already consistent (IIRC it was made before the release though).
7.14 Pacifist's War
5/10
This one was... hard to rate. I have very mixed feelings about it. It's original but it's almost too original and too different from what has been done until now. The other problem is the binary nature of the card: It would be unplayable until it receive cards that would make it OP as fuck OP as fuck (especially with roast cards that can withdraw cards from your deck such as Keening Banshee)
7.15 Dragon Tamer Anna
4/10
I don't really like this one TBH. The arts are way out of order for HS, and the effect is complicated for no real gain. I also think it would be too good.
7.16 Goblin Hot Potato
9/10
One of the few cards that combine excellent flavor with interesting effect. It adds a new decision-making to the game in the form or "should I give up 5 HP for 1 mana crystal?".
My only criticism is that the effect still has an element of randomness (you can't plan ahead that much) and that Rogue may not be the best class for this. Rogue needs its curve. Warrior would have been a better fit imo.
7.17 Annihilate
4.5/7 (~6.43/10)
I skipped the gameplay rating on this one because the theme was basically asking us to make a nearly unplayable card. Even then, it's rather bland and I've seen this concept several times.
7.18 Xal'atath
NOT RATED
I skipped this one completely because there was an identical comp before and it was won by... the same base concept. I don't think Yothats knew about this, but it's still an issue for me. This is a bummer because, as a Shadow Priest main who loves his Knaifu, I would probably have loved this if this was new to me.
7.19 Helya & Odyn
4/10
Uh, that's OP. Also the concept feels too obvious. Unfortunately, the theme is largely to blame here. Happened last time too.
7.20 Skilled Grafter
999999999999999/10 vote for it betches
7.20 Griftah
8.5/10
The best implementation of Griftah into HS I've seen so far (better than the one I tried last season). Flavorful, funny and somewhat useful in Miracle decks. My only issue is that it doesn't use the Griftah art I linked on the thread. A card worthy of sharing a victory with mine to be sure
TL;DR vote for my cards lel

... I sense a small correlation between the ratings of your cards...
Although one of them has twenty "9"s while the other has fifteen. In other words, you rated one card to be roughly 100,000 times better than the other... well then.
Wished to be pink.
Then did.
Then fired myself.
Then did again.
Gosh, i tried to ignore all this posts about plagiarism and the fact that i choosed similar theme with last battlecry and deathrattle winner is suprised me too, i didn't participate in that previous one, i skipped couple seasons almost entirely and didn't really follow all the final polls and winners. But to be honest, is it that similar? I know it uses Shadowform mechanic too, but it uses it as battlecry and deathrattle returns your starting hero power. When i thought about designing the card, i looke at examples and thought a lot of Blade Razor and decide to make a weapon, Then i thought what kind of weapon would be cool to add in Hearthstone. A lot of cool lore weapons were added in KnC expansion and among them: Skull of Man'ari and Aluneth, they are artifact weapons from Legion and i thought Xal'atath is perfect choise to follow this examples. And it's shadow priest artifact, so i used shadowform mechanic and i liked that it changes from 2 damage to 3 damage, not just refreshing, so it's good to use it twice, makes it completely different.
Good point, but I don't think I can evaluate your card without being clouded by that other card.
