Even if you discard a spell, 2 cards for 2 mana is insane. If you get 3, the power level becomes unreal. Elemental mage is almost competitive right now, and it loses almost nothing from the rotation, it might become a real thing.
Second, it's an actual epic card: good in only a certain type of deck and really good in it. Elemental (or mech in Wild) mage can certainly use something like this.
hard to evaluate, but if this sees play in a deck thats at a decent power level and consistently draws 3, it will be insane. im thinking of a spiteful priest mage deck or something similar
Yeah, Mage is looking like to be the worst class in the set at this rate. Besides losing so nay important tools with the rotation, specially Ice Block, this new cards have 0 support to mage at all.
Toki, legendary: Brings nothing to Mage besides being a total meme card.
Book of Specters, epic: Completly kills Mage's identity. Granted it can be used in a heavy minion based deck but Mage doesnt have that. Not even with the elemental package.
The Odd Cat, common: Only usable in Baku Mage and funny enough, we still didn't had a odd cost card yet revealed for Mage. Even then, Mage would have to say goodbye to frostbolt, fireball, blizzard, meteor and pyroblast to play this card.
The Raven, common: Bad card overall. Bad stats for 4 mana even if its has good value. Hard to pull it throught and useless in the mid/late game since it is only 2 drops.
Wouldn't be surprised if the card generate a tier 1 or 2 deck, even with a couple of other spells in a deck the value is insane. All we need now is good minions. Think Big Priest with that.
Thank you for being one of the few smart people in this thread.
This card obviously seems pretty bad in Mage (the most spell dependent class), but 2 mana draw 3 cards is insane! I am sure it will create a new minion based Mage deck. So, I voted optimistically meta-defining.

The class this was given to is called mage. What do mages do? Cast spells!
Elemental Jaina mage. You can still put in a few of the top spells. This card is good so long you don't discard more than one card.
Also just because your deck is made of minions doesn't mean you don't have access to spells. There's the 4 mana 5/4 that gives you flame gyser, then there's babbling book (but it's rotating) and the 2 mana 2/1 deathrattle gives u spell.

give me arcane intellect instead, thanks
and that's not even great either
Not good, mage has best spells in the game... Why would he throw them away and build minion-heavy deck?
First, it's an insane arena card.

Maybe zoo warlock
Fantastic. Extremely powerful with drawback (that can potentially be negated via quirky deckbuilding). A fan of this sort of thing.
Don't know if a heavy-minion shell would work with it in standard, but I'm curious if something like mech mage would appreciate the inclusion in wild.
This is worth building around. Even in a deck that still runs a decent amount of spells, I think you play this because of the upside.
Mage has 3 minion synergies
Mechs (wild)
Elementals (standard/wild)
Dragons (wild)
One of them will use it.
[card]Dollmaster Dorian [\card] elemental mage incoming.
Discard Frostlich Jaina? :D
I would be sad if I was a mage player...

This reminds me of Spiteful Summoner in a way. In the right deck, 2-mana draw 3 cards is insane.

Carpe Diem - Seize the day
Also worth mentioning this is probably incredibly strong in Arena.
