I wouldn't mind Reno staying at all, but the problem with doing something different once, is that from then on, everyone will expect it more often. It is also probably the reason why they aren't giving any compensation for this quest bug, because they don't want to give away free stuff after every tiny bug that shows up (and they're probably right to do so, too)
Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
@rainaku I made the proposed poll. Of course it's totally unbiased.
In all seriousness, I think Reno Jackson is maybe the only true candidate to be put in the Standard set if it had to be done. Neutral Awesome and unique effect Legendary Charismatic Rich Decks built around it often require more skill than the average deck Belong to the, I believe, most appreciated set released so far …
That's why Morkimus I think you're maybe a little bit wrong even if i clearly see the point you're making and partially agree with it.
I think Reno is a very well designed card and I would love for everyone's favorite adventurer to be in the game forever. I also think emp rotating out will be a mistake since it kills about every combo deck so I would like him to stay too.
I'm a big fan of Reno; and over time its best home will be Wild, not Standard. As more and more cards are created the need to have two of a specific card will diminish and that is more likely to happen in Wild since it has the larger card pool.

Dependable loan sharks since 1960. We sink our teeth into every deal we make.
This is a very narrow -minded thought. He's cool indeed and has/will still have his time to shine. But his rotation will allow for even more inreresting cards/mechanics to be implemented.
BTW Reno decks will just get better and better in Wild as time Goes by
Yeah, I guess if they do make some cards stay, they should definitely be neutral, and balanced, and Reno definitely has those qualities, as well as being unique and interesting.
If Blizzard were to do it, I'd be down for it as well, don't get me wrong. I was just speculating about the line of thought they would use not to do it. But perhaps if they did it only for neutrals, Reno would stand a chance...

Of course. I dont run him myself. I'm terrified when i hear "We're gonna be rich!", but that also means game is very intresting. And he is a one of community's favorite cards, not op but unique mechanic and really fun to play or play against. I would also like to see Loatheb, Thaurissan, Elise starseeker and maybe Nexus Champion Saraad/Confessor Paletress/ and even Justicar Truehart added permanently as classic cards. None of these is op on belcher-mad scientist level and brings fun experience/ archetype possibilities.
Keep it or make it Standard forever, pls!
i see what you did there

Add a pool to see how much people would like that.
I love how this came up right after someone made a tread about removing it! :D
I don't think they can do that. If they did it for Reno, then everyone would want their own favorite card to stay as well.
Every Mage wanting Flamewaker to not rotate out.
Every Hunter wanting Call of the Wild to stay
Shaman asking for the 7/7 until the end of times
Priest wanting Entomb or maybe even wanting Lightbomb back.
Etc...

Reno will last until League of exploreres rotates out. Simple answers is enjoy it while its out...
If you like it that much you will continue to play it in wild.

I agree. Reno is one of the best designed cards in the game. He allows for the creation of so many interesting decks, but isn't overpowered at all.
The difference is that Reno is a neutral card. Every class can benefit from it.

I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.
