Play wild they said, Itd be fresh and fun they said.
Playing against Secret Paladin, Face Hunter and Mech mage (with no changes since WoG) is not fun. That's a good 50% of the Meta. Another 30% of the Meta is deck Copy+Pasted from Standard; Aggro Shaman, Dragon Warrior (why?), C'thun Warrior. That only leaves 20% odd for actually interesting decks. And while I am happy to see priest actually seeing playing the constant surge of Secret Pallys and Mech mages just grind me down.
Experimental decks in wild ? Maybe around rank 20, after that it's only N'Zoth decks or secret pallies
The thing is, you can literally just put in 2 Shredders in your experimental deck and that'll put it about on par with every other deck in wild. Experimental doesn't mean bad, if you have any idea of what you're doing.
I too was happy to move on to standard with WotoG because I was sick of Dr. Boom/Mad Scientist but I want to play Priest and Paladin so I went back to wild and was surprised by the variety of decks there. Sure both formats have their annoying Tier 1 decks but in wild the deck variety is twice or even three times higher than in standard. You even see basic cards played (gasp) or oddball Legendaries.
But this will end when TempoStorm releases their wild meta snapshot on August 10...
Definitely more variety but sometimes you do tun into weird, annoying shit. I'm actually ranked higher in standard right now than wild which is not the norm for me. Still, wild is preferred just because the card pool is so much bigger that it naturally promotes more deck variety. Standard is warriors, shamans, and some hunters. And that's IT. I see all 9 classes in wild so that's a good thing.
well, my day so far in wild (~rank13): nzoth paladin, nzoth paladin, nzoth paladin, nzoth warlock, nztoh rogue, nzoth paladin. after this game, I came back to the office, working seems more fun than this shitfest. and no guys, you can call that variety, you can say that I played against 3 different decks, but nope, that is still the same shit.
I've started playing Wild for the first time since WoToG to try and play with a couple of decks (Feign Death Hunter and Beast Druid). Worked my way to 16 while refining the decks, and was impressed by the variety. It's true, I'm seeing some of the same old Tempo Mage, Aggro Shaman, but then there's a fair amount of interesting decks as well. Priests trying out their new tools while still having access to Lightbomb. Reincarnate Shaman at least means you don't have to facepalm everytime you see Thrall's portrait.
I can imagine it gets a lot worse at high levels, but it's fun for now.
wild is more fun, there is just more variety and better defensive cards. i have been hitting 5 in wild, not standard.
standard is meant for new players to compete easier but... by the nature of card games, Hearthstone will never be new player friendly, so, standard is a fail for gamers and in general.
why limit my card pool? i like having the option to use anything...
I think more players will play or move to the wild mode after next rotation because now the only difference between the wild and the standard mode is the GvG and Naxx cards which are all powerhouses. After next rotation the wild have 5 more sets and more archetypes will be removed from the standard like Reno, Elise, dragon, combo decks with Emperor, patron, etc. and so on.
And I think the problem with the unbalance of the class or the cards are netdecking. And the support of wild dropped by major sites makes people to be more creative and use different decks in wild even they have access to the cards like dr.7, shredder or the belcher. Also they don't take wild too seriously like standart and play more relaxed and are less salty. (My personal opininon. :) )
TL,DR: After the next rotation in 2017 there will be more difference between 2 modes and people start to play more wild I think.
i enjoy playing wild, as some other players i don't like having my pool of cards restricted. I've heard players say it's easier to rank in Wild but i disagree, more cards means you have to consider more options when facing an opponent.
I got to rank 5 in Wild this month, since i don't like seeing dragon warrior and face shaman over and over. And no, i didn't only see secret pallies. ;)
Hit 5 in Standard and decided to screw around in the 20's on Wild ladder, had a blast playing slow fun decks and not giving much of a shit whether I won. Had one game where I have a massive advantage on board, opponent Deathwings and gets back a minion I'd Moat Lurker'd, so I Twisting Nether and flop out a cheap Arcane Giant...good times.
If there will be more variety of decks the win rates will be even and the game will be more challenging and fun I think. I think the wild mode can manage that due to lack of netdecking.

I wonder what happened to Mech Mage. Maybe Menagerie can be played in wild better. Beast Druid also gets a 5 mana 7/7 in wild. Plus, Murloc Pally is so much better in wild.

Netdecking is still very much a part of wild.
Yeah but the with the support dropping the netdecking will decrease.
So in standard mode at the moment there is a flood of Zoo Warlocks and aggro Shamans/Hunters (some aggro players like to claim they are mid-range, but if a deck can beat you by turn 5 I would say it's aggro).
lol ofc they do. No one will tell you "Hey look im doing well, but it is beacause i play the easiest decks there is and so i just zero skill-faceroll many wins"
back to the topic. Yes wild is much funnier then standard.

My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.
I win due to skill and lose due to bad RNG. :D

Playing warrior is all about Armor Up! or Tank Up! then Do Nothing.

The most underrated part of the game, IMO.
