I don't think they gave up on it. Mostly they might be making cards cost a certain amount of mana to support the odd or even archetype. Rather than give all cards odd/even only text.
Also since these cards aren't available in arena through normal drafts. Wouldn't be right to have most of them restricted.
Even if you just use Graymane and Baku, you can ignore every other WW card and still make an odd/even deck (although it might not be that strong...)
I don’t know if I’d say that. If they release a ton of odd/even cards it really limits what decks those cards can be used in. So they are keeping the odd/even mechanic limited to 6 to not limit creativity in deck building with the new set.
Scrap it? It was a couple of interesting cards for people to try to work out how to use. If there hadn't been any support cards nobody would treat it as a core mechanic of the set, and mike donais' reddit post explicitly stated the support cards are only there so people consider trying the odd/even decks that those classes look particularly weak with.
Yes they made a big thing of it early on to get people thinking and excited, but I think it is wrong to treat it as much more than other 'main' legendaries like King Togwaggle: If it works competitively great, but if not there is a whole lot for deck-builders to have fun with regardless.
I’m pretty disappointed that both didn’t get a veklor. Also bummed warrior didn’t get a Baku synergy card. That being said, I’ll still be monitoring mana costs for every card. I’m sure Warrior will get some strong odd cost cards.
Consider this: every card in Hearthstone's existence "supports" Odd and Even decks already, as will all potential future cards. More direct support would muddle The Witchwood and its goals, considering Rush and Echo are also being introduced to the game. Even then, such cards could be created further down the line, if Blizzard so chooses; this is merely a starting point. We might see additional Odd/Even cards, just as we're seeing a new Hero card after their first incarnation in KFT.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
No... They created a new Archetype that will be developed on as expansions come out. They can still support the Archetype by making good cards that do not mention Odd/Even mana costs. The cards they released are very strong and unique, more support with more strong even/odd cards would push the Archetype too much. It is only 6 cards out of 135 new ones. New Archetypes do not have to be good to begin with, I am guessing only one odd/even deck will become viable in this expansion.
What they want to do is have 1-2 cards to create more than 1 deck. With baku and genn, they want people to create 18 different decks. They don't want to have a lot of cards to make this happen. And i'm happy for having only 6 cards in this expansion for odd/even, rather than having 2 cards for each class for odd/even.

I considered it but them i couldn't come with an argument to why not just add this new really good odd/even card to a already good deck ?
i mean if they make a really good 5 mana mage card (Drakonid Operative level of power) why not just put it together with my frostballs and fireballs ?

I would say you're focusing on the wrong thing: the ultimate point of restricting your deck by cost is for Baku/Genn's effect, and the opportunities that effect provides. The rest of the cards - Black Cat, etc. - are secondary. The Mage has other Spell Damage options, other 3-mana minions, and other card-draw mechanics; the Mage does not have any-other means by-which to upgrade their Hero Power from the outset. That's not to say the support cards lack individual merit - Glitter Moth + Void Ripper should be quite the sight - but focusing your attention on the support cards risks you failing to see the forest for the trees.
Honestly, you should look at Baku and Genn just as you would look at Reno Jackson when he was first released (without any support, by the way). Why would you ever consider making your deck Highlander? Because Reno offered something you could not acquire otherwise.

Dude what about reno and 1 copy of a card in deck...there is only 3 cards for mage 3 cards for priest and 3 cards for warlock for support it and they were tier 1 decks xD you just need to know how to create good deck around 1-3 essential cards for that deck..and this even/odd is very similar to reno type deck building.. You will have so many options for even/odd decks especially in wild :) also you could combine reno with even mage deck :) use your imagination for deckbuilding (not netdecking) you have tons of card that are even/odd and that is your support for it. :)
I honestly think that they scrapped a good part of the ideas and just replaced them with alternative ideas that made it mostly through the design/testing process. I mean, why give even decks fewer 'even specific' mechanics than what odd was given? Seems really odd to be honest.
They should give up on it. Its a horrible mechanic.
If T5 develops cards that help fill the gaps from taking other staples out to meet the odd/even requirement then it really wouldn't be that bad. Say that a fireball type of card was printed that read something along the lines of a 3 mana "Deal 5 damage" card or a 1 mana "Choose one: Deal 2 damage to a minion or draw a card". If something like that happens then the bigger cost asked of players in order to build around odd/even wouldn't be nearly as punishing.
I can't see what the problem is with just having a few odd/even mechanic cards. The whole idea of having few of these cards, is so that if you use them, you can strengthen your deck at a cost using certain cards.
Whether it will work not is another question, but there have only been 12 cards revealed as of writing, so let's see what else they coming before we quickly dismiss the mechanic.
for me they scraped it before the releaseand didnt had time to replace those cards.
even if they add new strong cards... why ignore half your collection only for a better hero power ?
If you watched the video, they released the odd/even specific cards to encourage trying Baku/Genn in builds where it wasn't intuitive. They didn't want to craft the deck for us.
And...ya know, the entire set is full of odd and even cards...soooooo
The closed beta launched almost five years ago - ever since, the dev team has consistently designed as many cards for Timmy and Johnny as they have for Spike. And for just as long, people who haven't got a clue what I'm talking about have moaned and complained whenever a card, tribe, sub-theme, mechanic, etc, is "fun tier" rather than meant for top tier competitive laddering . . . and they've criticized the devs for their "failures."
FWIW - in the present case, unless the dev team introduce new math to the game, about half the remaining cards will support the "even" mechanic, and the remaining cards will support the "odd" one.
So they confirmed that we will only get 6 cards 4 odd and 2 even to support this new archetype.

i don't believe it's enough to make it work.

My Entry for this week's Card Design Competition - Season 8.16:
Literally every card that releases is an odd/even card, I don't get how you can even say that they gave up on it
Don't mind me just passing by
They gave those 4 cards to classes that needed them, odd Warrior doesn't need more power outside of just general new cards
Don't mind me just passing by
???

Do you think they gave up with non-duplicates because there are only 4 cards?
