Nana here to showcase his anti-aggro deck. This is not the first time I've tried to make taunt druid work. The other time I did I got to top 200 legend with it quite easily. proof
Just coached my brother to legend with this updated list. He got there with a 61% winrate. So if you are struggling to get there this final week this is the deck to go for :) hf
Let me show you how this would work:
Core cards;
I'm sure you can see the synergies without me pointing them out.
Here's a simple mulligan
Note: Don't keep Master Oakheart unless you have the needed ramp in your mulligan phase
A little in-depth mulligan against aggro or control decks, these are of the highest priority
Against Control: Keep, Master Oakheart, Nourish, Oaken Summons and Wild Growth
Against Aggro: Keep, Lesser Jasper Spellstone, Oaken Summons, Wrath, Swipe and Wild Growth
Gameplan;
Ramp up quickly with Wild Growth and Nourish, get your taunts out there and whittle your opponent down.
Later in the game look for combos like;
Hadronox now summons;
Tips Section
Against Aggro, ramp as quickly as possible and put your taunts down.
You can Drop your Hadronox into a Doomsayer if you have enough dead Taunts to deny your opponent setup time
Hadronox + Naturalize is going to win you a lot of games, you should not throw your Hadronox into a silence because you're impatient. Also don't waste your Naturalize every time you need something to disappear, you have a lot of armor for a reason
Branching Paths can give you a lethal you might not realize afterHadronox Vomits
You can put Hadronox down without naturalize if you're playing against a non-mage/non-shaman deck and cube it later. If they silence and kill it just play your Witching Hour and Cube that
That's all for now
Leave your suggestions/thoughts/questions in the comments below. Thanks
Nice deck, but how good is the Ultimate Infestation in this deck? I often times just have it sitting there with 6 cards in hand and there's a lot of cards in here that are important to not burn. Any suggestions for a replacement?
A second Branching Paths I guess, if you really don't need the draw
Instead of 2 Grizzled Guardians I will try one Carnivorous Cube and Malfurian the Pestilant.
- Cube will add deathrattle synergy.
- Malf. is just a great card overall and you can always choose the poisonous spider battlecry which would be amazing here. Think about it! Your opponent HAS to take them out (either AOE, single target removal, or via trading). basically your opponent has to deal with them next turn.
ALSO: How do you guys provide text links for cards? So when I said Grizzled Guardians, Malfurian the Pestilant, and Carnivorous Cube above how do you make it so the card shows up when you hover over it? Thanks =)
I loved the idea of this deck and was glad to spend my dust so that I could use it.
I like using Hadronox as my only beast because of the insane value from Witching Hour so I just put a Ancient of War and some other non beast taunts (There are plenty of good ones) in.
Why not Malfurion pestilent ?
the 2 things he spawns are beats
I see... Thanks
How can i win with this against cubelock?
In my experience a well timed Naturalize is all it takes. For example, a Mountain Giant on board with 9 cards in hand is a good situation to use one of your Naturalize. You can burn a Bloodreaver Gul'dan if you're lucky
Missing both Primordial Drake. Any suggestions to replace them?
Nothing does what Primordial Drake does but I guess you could replace them with another good taunt like Rotten Applebaum or Sleepy Dragon
This is my favorite deck of the expansion so far!
I ended up removing one Grizzled Guardian for Malfurion the Pestilent. I know that Malfurion isn't supposed to go well with it, but for me it has had way more perks than not. Often I have so much taunt that I can create spiders, avoiding the taunt pool and getting through the opponents big minions later in the game, and don't get me started on the hero power.
I removed Grizzled Guardian because it is in fact a late game card, by the time I play the second one it doesn't end up pulling anything out.
Thanks for the list!
Yeah, i've been wondering what too do with the second Grizzled Guardian. Your idea looks feasible, maybe I'll try it
No Nourish? Also what do you think of Master Oakheart.
Nourish?, not good enough. Master Oakheart requires a different deck.
im sooo glad i got hadronox now! this deck is really good i think i counters even shutterstock shaman
with the 12 health minions u counter vulcano
with the buffs u counter their healing
its so insane!
love it!
master oakheart fits nice into it! will try arfus now
I've played around 25 games with a slightly alter version (Minus a Naturalize for a second Branching Paths). Here are some take-aways:
I hope some of this is helpful.
Yep, you got some of the points down. Very Helpful
Thanks! Definitely my favorite deck from the new year. Kudos!
