And now, my second unpopular opinion after Raptor Hatchling.
This card is actually REALLY good. Getting two minions on turn 2 isn’t completely unreasonable, but even when you can’t, zoo-y, aggro-y decks won’t mind playing this off-curve. You can even play it along with two other 1 drops on turn 4 to activate it from an empty board. It isn’t that hard to activate, and when you can trigger it, this card has so many good options to Adapt into.
You could have a 2 mana 2/5, or a Shielded Minibot, or a Haunted Creeper with a precious +1 attack, or a 2 mana 2/2 poisonous to obliterate your opponent’s 4 drop without being ping-able. 83.333% of the time, you will be presented with at least one of those options, but even when you aren't, you can have a 2 mana 3/3, or an almost-Whirling Zap-o-matic, or a 2 mana 5/2 to threaten a solid trade or a lot of face damage.
If this doesn’t see constructed play in something (zoolock? egg druid? The Marsh Queen hunter? Pirates, even, with Patches the Pirate to make swarming easy?) I’ll eat my hat.
good synergy with Alleycat
Really? Nobody sees this in a deck with Patches the Pirate?
Seems kinda like a "3-drop" in the sense that it's the most likely turn where it'll be able to adapt AND provide meaningful tempo. Play a sticky 2-drop or two 1-drops on 2, and then a 1-drop and this on 3, and this could have the value of a 3 mana card on its own.
The best adaptations for this would be +3 health, +1/+1, Living Spores, and Divine shield. Poisonous, Windfury, and +3 attack all make it relatively threatening to the opponent's board and/or face, but it'd only have 2 health.
For the good ones, being able to squeeze out 33-50% more tempo/value than what you're usually capable of at such early turns is huge imo
This card may be included in niche Zoo decks, which I could see a Zoo/Token Paladin coming out of this expansion with Lost in the Jungle and a Water package. We'll see. Seems promising, but also seems like it would be strictly worse than a vanilla 2 drop in anything but a Win More situation.
a great card for token/zoo
Its not that hard to trigger it in the right deck, but despite that i think the card provides only average value at most, making it not so good. Only 4 (5 if you count the +3 Attack buff) adapts are desirable. The rest make this a Frostwolf Grunt or a bad Fairie Dragon. In other words, you still need to get lucky to benefit from this card even after fulfilling the condition. IMO, not gonna be good enough in refined aggressive deck lists.
People complained about 'curvestone'. This is what you get. Your welcome.
"Playable" typically means playable in arena, but usually not enough for Constructed. And this is NOT just a 2 mana 3/3, some of the Adapt options are a lot better than that.
It can become a 2/2 with Stealth, Divine Shield 2/2 (Shielded Minibot), can have 2/5 in stats, or even a 2/2 with Living Spores.
git gud
Definitely average, hard to play onactivate on curve
This card is NUTS. Hunter deck is auto-include with alley cat and 1-drop quest AND the beast tag.
Whoa now... I agree it's hard to activate on turn 2, but if you do... it's pretty sick in a lot of the modes.
1) 2 mana 2/2 that summons two 1/1s is not decent. That's insane. Haunted Creeper was great and this is straight up better.
2) 2 mana 5/2 is definitely not crap. I'd hesitate to call that even average.
3) 2 mana bad faerie dragon is bad... I agree.
4) 2 mana divine shield is insane. Shielded Minibot was a force.
5) 2 mana windfury is bad... agreed.
6) 2 mana taunt... again brutal... agreed.
7) 2 mana 2/5 is definitely ground breaking... we play 3 mana 2/5s in some decks to control the board. This one's another hit.
8) 2 mana 3/3 with zero drawback is sick and would see tons of play.
9) 2 mana stealth is weak... agreed. Although occasionally, this will get picked since it's got the best odds of landing a hit without getting removed... call this a tie.
10) 2 mana poisonous.... again kinda weak.
So, I'd say 5 out of 10 are actually very strong modes. Which is a safe bet that when this activates, that you'll get paid out. With it also having the beast tag... I think we'll see this getting played. Probably in Warlock. I agree with you in Hunter, it's probably not as sexy, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see it since it's probably still solid in Hunter because of Alley Cat as you mention and just because things like Kindly Grandmother make the likelihood of 2 minions being around that much greater.
It's an okay card. Nothing bad to say about it.
Might use it on a paladin deck with Lost in the Jungle, because I miss my [card]Shielded Minibot[/card]
There's a story in there.
"Well, George and I were completely lost until we ran into this tiny little dinosaur....."
Another "pack filler"
it looks nice, good in arena perhaps
