Spellbook Duel is This Week's Brawl!
Choose your spellbook carefully, champion! Pick 10 cards, and anytime you would draw a card, you instead Discover a copy of a card from your deck.
Trivia
- This is a brand new brawl!
- Think of your deck as a Discover pool which won't deplete on activation of the effect. Removing and Adding to this pool is possible. A lot of Brawls have multiplied cards in your initial deck to get it up to 30 cards, that isn't the case here which makes it unique.
How it Works
- Choose a class.
- From your chosen class, pick 10 cards from your collection to put into your deck.
- You may only have 1 of each card in your created deck.
- Each time you draw your initial card, you will instead use the Discover mechanic to pick a card from your deck.
- If you draw a card through a card effect, you don't immediately gain the Discover window. You must spend 1 mana to Discover that card though Peruse.
Fun Times
This is just a sampling of some of the fun card interactions we have with this brawl.
- You can add more cards to your deck. Playing a card like Jade Idol will give you 3 copies of it, which will increase your chances during Discover of seeing another Jade Idol.
- Tracking will actually remove 2 cards from your Discover pool. Choose wisely, hero!
- Fel Reaver will also remove cards from the Discover pool. Mages be warned, you can get this from Firelands Portal.
- Reno Jackson and the other Reno-style cards will always work unless dupe cards are added to your deck.
- Beneath the Grounds.. yep. It ruins your opponent's Discover pool (And Reno potential) with Ambush being tossed in.
Discuss This Week's Brawl
Head on over to the forums to discuss this brawl!
Prompted me to make a Curse of Rafaam Renolock :)
that would fuck me a lil, if u play it on the right time haha xD
I've been extremely successful with this deck so far:
Fun! I had a deck called Dr. IF (Dr. for all the healing and IF for Inner Fire). This brawl made it more plausible but less healing... Added Questing Adventurer for 2nd OTK feature.
Yup, turn limit.
Got an infinite off with 3 sorcerers apprentices,1 flamewaker, and AIs It was beautiful. Killed a 24 health priest through a 17/17 C'thun XD
I ran into a bug in this brawl where I played Gnomish Experimenter and it added a copy of the Chicken to my deck. When I checked, however, my deck size was still only ten. I also had a game where I played two copies of Experimenter and it deactivated my Reno Jackson, even though it did not do this in any of my previous games.
Yes, it changes the card you draw into a chicken, so it removes that card from the deck and replaces with chicken.
The Reno thing might be that you drew with experimenter, then the second experimenter drew the first chicken again?
That might have been what happened to Reno. In any case, the Chicken effect shouldn't even trigger because the card you draw is always the 1 mana Peruse spell, but for some reason it does the animation as if the card had transformed and then adds the Chicken to the deck.
What the hell? You can't play 2 copies of any card in this deck.
i dont get it
Another fun deck I tried which brought me a lot of success (beating all Reno variants along the way) was Astral Druid which centres around Aviana, Innervate and Ragnaros the Firelord. Basically you add in Nourish and mana crystal creators. Reno ain't gonna help against 4 Ragnaroses ;)
Get you combo here!
How does Coldlight Oracle work in this brawl, for opponent's draw and yours???
You both draw 2 of those rediscover thingies.
This has to be the best and most fun brawl ever! I've had a great amount of fun playing this against a friend and just doing random shenanigans. Really do recommend to try this with a friend.
I think this is the best brawl.... EVER !!! :P
Turns out infinite Renos and Kazakuses are preeeeety good...
Also Dr.Boom
Beneath the Grounds, Deathlord. Thin their deck while filling it with Ambush!es. Concede rogue ftw
This is my new favorite brawl. I just can't be defeated with my Flamewaker+Apprentice infinite 2 damage randomly split among all enemies combo. Check out my list, try it and have fun.
