Big Priest is one of the strongest decks in Wild and has been since Knights of the Frozen Throne launched in August 2017, and many players find it difficult to play against. I have spoken with many Wild players in-game and a problem that many of them cite with Big Priest is the lack of good tech cards against them as a control deck.
My goal is to show every card that can disrupt the Big Priest in some way. This will mostly include cards that summon minions for your opponent, but cards that increase the cost of your opponent's spells work well too.
I will give my thoughts on not only a card's viability as a tech card against Big Priest, but also as a standalone card against other decks.
Saronite Taskmaster is a decent card in every matchup. It's not offensively bad against other decks and a 0/3 taunt is an awful resurrect target. This card is better than many other alternatives if you really hate Big Priest.
Weasel Tunneler is a meme card. I only mention it because I want to give a shoutout to Weasel Priest.
Gravelsnout Knight is worse in every way when compared to Saronite Taskmaster. The only benefit is that the bad resurrect target comes out faster than the 0/3, but this is a disadvantage in every other matchup. Tempo = good and this card is low tempo against aggro decks.
Cornered Sentry [/card] is a very good card in any Control Warrior deck. It has synergy with [card]Brawl, Cornered Sentry, and it clogs up the resurrect pool. Run this card in any slow Warrior (except for the odd one out).
Doomsayer/ Howlfiend and Trechery clog up the resurrect pool with two of the worst minions in the game. Imagine the Big Priest plays spellstone, reviving The Lich King, Obsidian Statue, Katrina Muerte, andDoomsayer. It's unlikely to happen and bad in every other matchup but it's the most effective strategy for destroying the Big Priest's spirit.
Devolve is a good card in Shaman. Play it.
Tinkmaster Overspark transforms minions, which is better than summoning minion effects.
Flight Master is a 3/3/4, which isn't that bad. If you hate Big Priest this is a legitimate option.
Rattling Rascal is so unplayably bad that it should never be considered for any deck ever.
Kazakus is already played in every Reno deck, and the Mystic Wool potion is always good. Pick Mystic Wool against Big Priest.
Hex is a good card in Shaman. Use it.
Poison Seeds would be better if it transformed, but it still disrupts the res pool while clearing a wave of big minions.
Polymorph is a good card in Mage. Use it.
Marsh Drake is a bad card in any deck except Aggro Rogue, but that deck already beats Big Priest so this card is bad. It's 3 mana do nothing in mot circumstances.
Leeroy Jenkins is a good card in most Aggro decks, and it serves it's purpose against Big Priest. Unfortunately it comes down a bit too late to be super useful.
Loatheb is a great card in every deck and is decent against Big Priest. Everyone knows how good this card is, and it destroys the Big Priest's turn when played.
Muck Hunter comes down after Barnes and Vargoth. Too slow.
Hungry Ettin is a decent midgame taunt that summons a bad minion for your friendly neighborhood Big Priest. Unfortunately, it's too expensive and shouldn't be run.
Mad Summoner is so bad against any other deck, and it comes down later than both Barnes or Vargoth. Don't run this card.
Nerubian Unraveler is played in decks like Cubelock and Darkest Hour Warlock to combat all removal spells, but it works especially well against Big Priest. Keep running this card.
Entomb is a tech card for control decks against other control decks. Every good Priest deck is a combo deck. This card is not very good in the meta.

My favourite cardart by far, just look at those cute kissing lips and that insatiable look on its face. Adorable!

I personally think people got a little used to HS's "big cards" hype. And while i get some of the salt people throw at these forums, they tend to forget to bring the pepper these days. Come on is everyone creating a thread just to point out their personal issues?! Salt threads are made for that, but please just use some pepper (creativity) and make the game fun again (i just waisted 5 opponents with my home made Kangor-Oakheart deck, including Secret hunter, Malydruid and Evenlock (so fullfilling).
The key thing is that the set is pre-made for most of the whole year, but brought to you in bits. This has some disadvantages to it. i know, but you just can't keep bringing out only really big cards like in "the Old Gods" expansion every expansion, or like "Knights of the Frozen Throne" they would impact the game too much to a point of overkill (not the new keyword). Have people forgotten about the grand tournament? It wasn't really that grand either. The buy-only expansions did their part when they came out, but did they rule the meta, no they were meh at best, but u needed it to fit in. On the next rotation, the whole game will change at once, that's why they bring the Loa's now. It's kinda a general theme that will go on into next year, while all the DK's will rotate out. I personally hated jade druid and sighed with relief when that finnaly bit the dust. Change is good, but too much change is destructive to the game. Would they change anything, than it should be bigger sets of cards as some of the mechanics just don't shine as they could, but that brings out the point of balancing the game, which will be more difficult.
My problem with HS at the moment is that people seem to net-deck only and lose interest in off-meta decks or decent homebrews. I saw little to no play of some of the cards at times just because some streamer got his hands on a druid malygos deck. Also at first people screamed for OTK and combo decks and now they're here they're called cancerous? Then one guy makes a zoolock to combat it and that became the topic of the day? Don't start me on people blaming Shudderwock, that's just terrible, just like the decks winrate.
Maybe they shouldn't change the game, but players should change their mindset a bit? Losing is part of a game (this on has 70% winrate at best) so buckle up and come face me in the Gurubashi Arena.
(No i'm no Blizzard employee trying to advert, i'm just tired of the salt. Never use only one condiment, that makes for bland food - and did i sound whiney at all? Sorry for that)

For me, I played Magic since 4th edition till the Argothian series and lost interest because it's a friendbased game and my community lost interest. Now with MGTA it rekindled my love for the game. After a few weeks of playing, I think it has less comparisons with Hearthstone than assumed by many. The main difference from my point of view is that HS is very much based reactive play, while Magic is playing your own game against a player that does the same. HS is very "on board" activity, where controlling the board or doing damage fast enough will win you the game (except with OTK decks) There are many reactive cards in Magic, sure, like counters and instants for example, but whatever is on the board in stats is way less important than in HS where it is more about effective stats. 4/12 needs 12 dmg to die, yet in magic u can just destroy or exile the thing or nuke the board with a single card. In Magic you can effectively win with a 1/1 creature while holding board, which will never happen in HS, which is in that way also more dynamic. Some mechanics frustrate me in magic though like counterspells which frustrated me from day one. It has mechanics to disrupt your opponents gameplay to much to some extent, which i find less of in HS. Magic seems more creative and HS is more actionpaced, I like both!
On the original statement of f2p, i now have 5k gold for next HS expansion. will not buy the pre-order this time. Made that with arena and one week of quests. I'm at least rank 5 so f2p is very viable and doable. For MTGA, is also very f2p friendly, but i don't see a very good ladder experience atm. Also netdecking is also becoming a problem in Magic as well, i see ppl copying streamers, which to my taste will happen in all games to some extent.
On the point of expansion sets, I think we need way more cards per expansion, as the possibilities per expansion are quite limited.
The whole idea of these games is having fun, i hope that with the next expansion the whole salty community will come to rest a i see alot of angry or sad remarks in forums. (Also I get alot of ppl who ad me after a win just to insult me and defriend me and that is something i hope will stop, it is just childish) I dont know if i even added something to this thread, but there you go.

Well people forget often with new expansions that alot of people rate arena value as well. For arena Omega Agent could actually be broken. Lategame with not alot of removal left you play this and people will cry.

After 2 "meh" arena runs, decided to go hunter. Got a decent draft and got Elise and King Krush. Never got very far with hunter, but i decided to go agressive. Turns out King Krush is my new best friend as I used him to finish 6 games in a row putting me now at 6-0. Last game the opponent put me to one life, sprung my rat trap, and got in the face with 17dmg instantly killing him. I bought King Krush a new leash, a new bone and a new basket as he is my new best friend ^^. Now where to put him, my room seems a bit smallish.

Good call! Could be Corridor Creeper as well? makes it back to playable or 0 mana after a while.

Well i see alot of comments about this being too powerfull and all, but don't forget that for example in the likes of taunt druid it can also cripple you because you rely on cards to be recruited them from your deck. Drawing the wrong things can set you back also. I think this card requires specific decks but makes ramp druid an even bigger threat nonetheless.

Yeah, but this one's "juicy" ^^
